Reviews:
Freaking Awesome! By: nomad2krider - Mar 9, 2010 Version: 4.3 This is all you need to be aware of the garbage foods that are out there. I love relying on it when I'm in the 'craving zone' to talk myself out of the fried food cravings that come with starvation. I would give it 6 stars but 5 is the maximum allowed! I've lost 16 pounds on 6 weeks with NO exercise. Just use this and melt fat away. Very user-friendly and constantly being updated with new and useful features.
Well thought out By: Chikara928 - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 3.5 I tried this app and livestrong at the same time and this is hands down the winner. Great display. Show's all the nutritional info you could possibly want. Easy to use. I wish the database started with generic entries like when I enter 'soy milk' I think it should just give me a generic option instead of a multitude of brands (which my brand is not included). Other than database things it's great. You can enter your own things like frequently consumed items into your 'Favorites' so they are always there... Very convenient...
One of the best apps I own By: ChicagoBride2Be - Mar 9, 2010 Version: 4.3 I love, love this app. At first I was having buyers' remorse thinking I should buy LoseIt, but I could not be more thrilled with this app. The ability to add my exercise and budget in extra calories for drinks or dessert is awesome. I lost 3 lbs the first week, even though I was only trying to lose 1 1b/ week. The interface is super easy to use, and I love how fun it is.Two things I would change are: 1) Make it so "my recipes" can include quick calorie entry and not just database searches. 2) Save quick calorie additions in the recent list. Otherwise, it does exactly what I hoped it would.
Best weight management tool I've seen so far By: 130in2010 - Jan 24, 2010 Version: 3.6 I've tried various other calorie tracking apps but this one was the best in terms of ease of use, large database of foods to search, and a nice graphical interface. I like the fact that when you open the program there is a bar graph that shows visually how much you have eaten. The only suggestion I would make is that the bar be colored something other than brown, what about bright green or red? Other than that, I love it and have lost 5 lbs already in the first week! Keep up the good work and keep adding more foods!
It is the best tool I have used By: Pastor Runner - Jan 6, 2010 Version: 3.5 There is no magic to weight loss. I have spent literally thousands of dollars on programs, books and gadgets. Bottom line it is about knowledge, discipline and accountability. I have lost over 30 pounds in 14 weeks. I record my food, my exercise, and aim for about 2 pounds a week. I have about 10 to go. I am not a slave to this and I eat much healthier. The best weight lost investment I have ever made. My wife is pleased, my son came home from college and could not believe how "awesome" his dad looked, and my daughter is bragging about me to her friends. Best of all I feel great and have so much more energy!!!
Excellent By: Zananana - 02-Aug-2009 Version: 3.0 My favourite App! It has helped me gain control of my eating habits and is putting me on the right path to a healthy lifestyle. It has made losing weight easy for me and keeps me motivated! If you are serious about giving calorie counting a go then you should definitely buy it. I would recommend it to anyone! Version 3.0 looks great and the new daily calories as a percentage makes it easier to visualise your progress! Thanks
Great App!!! By: BopBop - Feb 15, 2010 Version: 4.0 The App it has helped me track my eating and allowed me to see exactly why the weight I'm losing is happening.I have a few minor suggestions to make, when you have to manually type in food info, the per portion size line should automatically appear numerically rather than alpha, as most portion sizes begin with a number. Second, when adding consumed foods to the daily list, rather than the App returning to the face page after each entry, it should return to the Select Food page, as more often than not and especially at meals you are entering multiple food items. Thanks, for your help, do not know if I would have been as successful without the App!Bop Bop
Food addict's delight By: Teenage loser chick - Jan 5, 2010 Version: 3.5 If you are a compulsive eater or anorexic, you will love this app. You can spend happy hours satisfying your perfectionist tendencies counting calories, counting everything in your food, and watching your weight go up and down on a graph instead of just an old 20th century scale. Best of all, exercising comes to you as a reward of extra calories for consumption. Yes, this app puts it all together with ease. So, indulge yourself. Unlike alcoholism, you can't just quit. And like alcoholism, it's for life.
Very nice - one suggestion, however By: sonic_rexx - Mar 8, 2010 Version: 4.2 I like this app, but lately I've been shoveling a lot of snow - I don't see an exercise for that.Another suggestion: how about a report option to average calories (& other food values) over a range of dates? I'm more interested in my average food intake over 7 days than I am in 7 separate entries.Lastly, a question: I've been recording daily food since 1/1/2010, but today I see my data prior to 1/28/2010 is gone from the log. How about more history?
Great app! By: Too Distracted - Jan 5, 2010 Version: 3.5 Only suggestion is putting the more common food listings (ie. a chicken breast) at the top of search results for easy locating, rather than well down the list. Also, sometimes it's just easier to add together the nutritional info on food labels than just input "grilled cheese sandwich", which I could not find a listing for. Smarter search perhaps?Simple to use, regardless of my suggestions for improvement.Lost "Starbuck's" restaurant listing two updates ago... please bring it back!

Seems great By: chris20329302909 - Mar 5, 2010 Version: 4.2 I just got this, but I'll still write a review while my response is fresh. This seems to meet all my requirements.First, it loads quickly. A big plus.Second, it's attractive and easy to use.Third, it's very easy to find foods, and add them to my favorites list.Fourth, it's very easy to set up a profile and see how many calories I "have left" to eat for the day, based on a weight loss goal.It also tracks exercise, and that seems great.I love how easy it is to see a summary of how many calories I have eaten for the day, PLUS how much fat, carbs, and protein. I can pretty much tell I'm really going to like this app!
Excellent for tracking calories/exercise! By: Cochdraig - Sep 4, 2009 Version: 3.2 I have used this app for approx one month and it has proven to be a great asset in checking my calorie intake/exercise. I have used computer based programs but this app works the better because you have your iPhone with you always. Data input is easier and really does make you watch your eating habits! I have lost 20 lbs in the last month and this app has definitely helped me keep on track with my eating and excercise.Brilliant!

Good app.. but could be great By: NVGram - Feb 12, 2010 Version: 4.0 I love this app but although it has every kind of wild game that perhaps 1% may consume but I can't find prime rib!?! It also doesn't cover half the restaurants that we frequent but has many I've never heard of. The ability to add restaurants would be a plus. Otherwise after manually entering many, many foods, it tracks calories and keeps me in line. Keeping track of everything I eat is an eye opener for sure. Updates have really added to the useability of this app. It's getting better & better with each new update. Keep up the great work. I would still like to see more restaurants & more foods within ea. Restaurants heading.
Great food tracker and goal setting By: uprising4a - Aug 27, 2009 Version: 3.1 I have had this app for a month I really do like it but wish it had an easier way to track restaurtant's food and just the general food search. Example Quizno's only has 3 items listed. Then if you just do a general search for chicken there are a million choices, if I search for chicken salad I get sandwich but it doesn't even give me the type of bread choice to make and makes me workout the grams in each... I still use it everyday, I just enter my own information off the nutrition label. If you want to track your nutrition which dieting this is a must have... cheaper that WW ;)
P90x Users Will Love this App By: Alvin Rivera - Feb 12, 2010 Version: 4.0 5 weeks into P90x and I've lost 12 lbs and looking considerably better than when I started. I don't know how I could have maintained the diet without this app.If you are on the P90x Program and want to correctly follow the diet, this app is a wonderful tool. For example, in the first month of P90x, you should sustain a protein:carbohydrate:fat caloric ratio of 50:30:20. The Pie Chart is in Tap and Track provides a great visual in attempting to maintain these ratios. Having this app makes you become more accountable for everything you eat and better equipped to succeed in a program like P90x. I believe the hardest part of P90x is following the demands of the diet. As Tony Horton would say, "Write everything down." Well, you can do the same with what you eat. Tap and Track makes this very easy. Bring it!
Nice! By: PACaldwell - Aug 24, 2009 Version: 3.1 This is a great app. I've lost a significant amount of weight pretty quickly just because of the clear feedback I'm getting; it's pretty black and white and I'm not able to do my fuzzy justifications any more. The numbers are where I want them or they aren't and I can't kid myself. I'm thinking about food and exercise in a different way and it's make a lot of difference. A couple of things to figure out to shorten the input time, but I'm really happy.
EXCELLENT AP By: wannabe120 - Sep 24, 2009 Version: 3.2 I have used Calorie King on my Palm for until I got the iPhone. I have tried the other aps and been greatly disappointed. :-( That is, until I found this ap. :-) I LOVE this ap! A previous review mentioned changing the time of day defaults to the time of day. When entering the food look in the lower left hand corner. There is a drop down list to change the meal time. I have seen alot of complaints about the data base. Get over it! You only paid $2.99. They are working on the data base. You can always use the Calorie King website for access to their database.I would give this ap 10 stars if it was possible!!!!!
Best calorie tracking tool I have found By: thadschiele - Jan 21, 2010 Version: 3.6 This is the most accurate tool for tracking my food that I have found. I started working with a trainer at the beginning of the year, and was going to write down all my food intake in a little notebook. What a hassle when this app makes it so easy. And I always have my phone, so I don't have to carry around a second tool. I love the export feature to send data to my email. I wish it also exported the actual items consumed, and a time stamp would be great too. But I would recommend this app to anyone looking to loose weight, or track their consumption.
Perfect for the people who are health consious By: Dajiu - Aug 20, 2009 Version: 3.1 Day 3 Review : Ok, I have been trying to use this application for everything that goes into my mouth. I wanted to give the application a fair chance and understand everything that is going on and how it works. This is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time, keep track of everything I eat so that I can tell where I need to adjust my diet. The layout and setup of the application is really well thought out and easy to navigate! It makes it very easy to insert items, to keep track of what you've added / eaten / exercises. I can go back to any day and see what I've eaten. I really enjoy using it, especially since I'm a creature of habit and eat the same things all the time, so I use "Previous Items" a lot! There are a few minor bugs such as the times added for foods in the logs will occasionally have the previous foods time. But this doesn't interrupt the usability of the application and it does look like the data may be right and this is just a display bug. There are a few little things that could be improved. First is the database of foods is a little jumbled and a pain in the butt to navigate a bit. Pick something, say Apple. You'll find hundreds of entries listed like "Apple, raw, with skin -- 1 cup", "Apple, raw, with skin -- 1 cup chopped", etc.. Where all I really want is "Apple, raw, Red Delicious", "Apple, raw, Granny Smith", and "Apple, raw, Macintosh". So finding what to enter takes time and thus takes away from the experience with the application. Please clean up the database search. The next thing I would do is to not only allow people to enter their own foods, but also allow them to be published to a global database that others can access to find what they want. There are several restaurants listed, I haven't used it yet, but it would be nice to have people add new restaurants as time goes by that others and download. Would be nice and maybe be a good offset to the first issue. Other then those two annoyances, everything else is VERY good. I would give it 4/5 or even 5/5. Really nicely done.
