Best Shopping List program, hands down By: kbellek - Nov 13, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 I have purchased four other shopping list apps and this one is the absolue best, by a mile. Customize the aisles to match your grocery store, make your list, and shop efficiently from one side of the store to the other without ever having to backtrack. Previously purchased items can easily be added again to your new list from your favorites, those items that you buy every trip. This is just the best, most useful list app period. You won't be disappointed.
Impressed By: harkdiddy - Nov 13, 2008 Version: 1.0.3 I bough the program the other day, tinkered around with it, and forgot all about it until this evening when I had to make a quick grocery list for an unplanned trip to the store. I have to say, making the list was much easier than I was expecting. I was impressed. Of course, using the list at the store was a snap. I was going to suggest having multiple store support, and then I see that's something the developer is working on, so I have no complaints. It's a great app at a good price.
What I've been waiting for! By: Cardshark60 - Dec 29, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 When I first got my iPhone six months ago, I looked for a grocery app, but they were all too limited. I knew the right one would come along, and it has. Grocery IQ is easy to use, yet very powerful. Highly customizable. I like being able to edit the order of the aisles. My only hope is that they'll add the ability to put in items for more than one store, also adding the ability to edit the aisle order for each list. I really like the History list, which keeps track of everything I buy, just in case I want to refer to that again.
Great! Saves time and money By: stephs stuff - Mar 4, 2009 Version: 1.0.6 I have tried several grocery list apps and this one is the most easy to customize . While I would like the ability to have multiple lists, this is a great app. Once I had it set up for my favorite store it saved me time and money. I don't end up with nearly as many impulse items since I am able to skip over aisles that don't have items on my list!
***3/4/2009***
PLEASE make it possible to make lists for multiple stores...we have been asking for this particular upgrade for a while now! I would hate to think that the developers sold out and bailed..
Good before, Great now! By: NJ from NYC - Aug 2, 2009 Version: 1.5 I really liked using this app but the multiple stores is a great add and the barcode saves tons of time when adding items. I would love for the developers to team up with one of the barcode reader apps to take it one step further.
All in all this a great time saver. It helps me get in and out of the store without wandering around. It's handier than having my grocery list on my refrigerator because if I'm on the train or in a boring meeting and I think of something I need to buy, I can add it in an instant.
Great app and with new version it is much better By: Tigress666 - Aug 2, 2009 Version: 1.5 I've had this app for a while. It has a great interface and I like how it works. The one thing I've constantly wished is that it had support for more than one list (like I wanted to have multiple store lists and even lists for maybe ingredients for certain recipes kept seperate from my other list). I mean by description this was the only app that looked to have the interface I wanted without getting too complicated on all the stuff I had to enter to put something on the list which is why I went with it even though it did not have multiple list support. The multiple store feature fixes that (that's the biggest improvement and the one I bet most people are noticing in this new version). But I also think they did a vast improvement on the interface that I didn't even really think about. Now when you click off something on the list it puts it below in a list of stuff in the cart so all the stuff you have yet to find stays on top (so you can still have it in your cart but you can put the focus on the stuff you still need to find instead of scrolling up and down to see if you missed anything). And you can now checkout (or rather get rid of the stuff you checked as gotten) by pressing a button instead of going into a seperate screen (small difference but really does make it easier). Sometimes it's the stuff you didn't think of but find really helpful that really make you appreciate something ;). It's also added some features other programs have that I haven't taken advantage of cause I'm just too lazy (just not going to bother with entering prices. But the beauty of this update is it is easy for me to ignore that feature so if I don't want to use it, it does not get in the way).
Update is excellent! By: THaas - Aug 1, 2009 Version: 1.5 I used an earlier version of this but wasn't happy with the one-store limit. This update is marvelous -- I have five different stores in there right now, and it's great to be able to keep all my lists in one place. The design and user interface are much improved in this version too. The one thing that would make it perfect is the ability to sync between my phone and my husband's. I can't wait to see if that comes in the next update, but even without it, this is worth much more than 99 cents. Thank you!
Incredible! By: MHicks22 - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 1.0.4 I absolutely love this app. I constantly have a grocery list going and this app now makes it so simple to quickly and easily add items as I realize we need them. Being able to organize aisles to match my favorite store means no more having to backtrack through the store for all the things I missed on the first pass.
Takes a little investment of time when you first get the app to enter all your typical grocery items but it's very easy. And once done, you are set and ready for ultra convenient list making and grocery shopping. Even if I want to send my hubby to the store, emailing and printing the list makes it a cinch for him too. I love it!!
Priceless By: fruitdoll - Sep 29, 2009 Version: 1.5 This app makes it so easy to compare prices and products store to store! The barcode feature is utterly amazing as well. I eat vegan food and this found almost all of my groceries! The only thing it won't recognize is store brand. So for instance, Meijer brand or Great Value (Wal-Mart). But what it doesn't recognize I can put in myself. Don't be lazy, it's worth the time it takes to punch in products.
Great app! I'm already building my first list. By: TheWildJacko - Sep 28, 2009 Version: 1.5 This app is great and pretty easy to use, and I'm not having much trouble entering my list for multiple stores. I do hope the item database continues to expand so I don't have to manually type in half the items on my list. Also, one feature I would like added is stored sizes across all items. Right now the application only stores manually entered sizes for each item, but this makes for an inconvenience, as many completely different items come in the same size packages. I shouldn't have to type in 7 fl. ounces for whipped cream and then again for a bottle of chocolate sauce. While it's nice to be able to select previously entered sizes for specific items, the feature should carry over across all items.

Love it....but please add....,. By: Tseb - Aug 1, 2009 Version: 1.5 Update: this was good before, but now it's great. Thanks for listening to the suggestions and implementing them. You ROCK!!!!
I love this app. I've told so many people about it.
What I would like you to add is a "store" option. I get certain things from different stores (Albertson, Vons, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Smart and Final, CVS, Costco). If you add this, please make sure you can sort by store. Have the option to email store list or whole list. Thanks for listening.
Simply Perfect By: broodizt - Aug 16, 2009 Version: 1.5 Wow! I hardly EVER write reviews, but this app is simply fantastic. Just had to write in to thank the developers. It is so intuitive and so flexible, it has covered every conceivable possibility so that I don't have to write shopping lists by hand anymore. Just amazing. I might add, that I just HATE going shopping for food and other home items. I put it off until the last minute. I used to have to write and rewrite lists ad infinitum. I always lost my lists. I always found myself reordering lists into different catagories. I always forgot certain items, especially when I found myself in the only store that carried an item I wanted, and I would forget to write it down and then have to go back to that store to get it. Most times I never did. Anyway, I just can't think of any other thing I would need that this App doesn't do. It even allows you to reorder aisles, add an item with or without a particular brand, move items from one store to another without having to search for it all over again, check off items bought, put in price, notes, quantity, description. I mean, what the heck else is there? If you need a shopping APP, this is it. Look no further, just get it. You just can't find a better app. I promise. It is so worth the price.
Makes grocery shopping much more bearable! By: TremorX - Sep 28, 2009 Version: 1.5 Making and managing a list has never been easier or more thorough! Would love to see in future versions: Create new stores based on location, share individual store layouts with other users Add sales tax to a store (or add sales tax by current location) for more accurate pricing info Share prices by store with other users Sync grocery list with other iPhones/iPod Touches running Grocery iQ
Use it every day: A+ By: BusyBusyDad - Sep 27, 2009 Version: 1.5 Genius mode for groceries!!! Not only is this the best grocery list application, it’s one of the best iPhone apps I’ve purchased. The user interface is simple yet at the same time powerful. Searching and finding all the products I purchase is crazy awesome. I haven’t found anything yet it can’t find.
The new update is great, I really didn’t think it needed much improvement but now that i’ve used it i couldn’t live without the new additions to this application. The way multiple lists work is excellent, these guys obviously use there own product. Not only can you assign a product to a specific store you can mark it “Any Store” and it shows up on all lists. I love this feature. They also added pricing and a new way to check items off the list.
Love it, thanks Coupons.com for a great tool at an unbelievable price.

Can’t wait to see what’s next. I’m sure now that coupons owns this application we’ll be seeing some cool new features.
The best so far By: Fizzbuzz - May 12, 2009 Version: 1.0.6 This is the best grocery list manager so far. The user interface is far more intuitive and less complicated than the other highly rated grocery list apps with similar built-in editable lists and favorites. The shopping list can come up on launch without any additional clicks. The database includes items by brand, not just generic items. For those who shop by item preference rather than buying to a budget, this is the perfect implementation. For those who economize by checking the ads to pick some items for a shopping trip, this is also well suited. The latest version is wisely based on the original model, not some post-acquisition commercialization as some have implied. Tightly programmed, the app is extremely quick and responsive; no long delays on launch or other such anomalies.
Update makes it the hands down winner By: adgnyc - Jul 31, 2009 Version: 1.5 I've added a fifth star since, really, this does just about everything you could ask of a grocery list app, short of paying for you at the checkout counter. Well done.

I agree with the other reviewers who are annoyed by the lack of a promised update and who find it vaguely creepy that the app is now owned by a data mining company. I even tried another highly rated app that allows you to create separate stores but, frankly, it was unintuitive and a pain in the keester.
For me, Grocery IQ still does the job best. I've worked around the store issue by adding different stores as aisles--e.g. Liquor store, farm stand, seafood store. I don't need to have separate aisles within the other stores so it doesn't bother me except that I'd like to have the option. Not the most elegant solution but it works perfectly for me. Until another grocery app comes along that does something miraculous, I'm sticking with this one. That said: let's see the promised update, you creeps.
Almost perfect update By: cmfotr - Aug 15, 2009 Version: 1.5 ...would rate this a 4.5 if I had the option, but between the available choices, will give it a 5 in order to offset what seem to be frivolous 1 star critiques. Multi-store is a significant step forward, but it does bring with it one considerable negative. Pre-1.5 version allowed you to order Favorites items in same order as they appeared on list/in store. New version arranges everything in alpha order, making list input significantly longer than previously. Would like to recommend addition of feature that would allow user to select a store at the top of Favorite menu, and that then the favorites list shown would be organized in that store's aisle order. Ideally, items within aisle could be user-organized to appear in order of a particular store's aisle configuration. Additionaly, while I have no use for the option myself, for a multi-iPhone family, the ability to synch among phones would be crucial. All in all, however, this a terrific effort which needs only minor tweaking in order to be perfect.
LOVE IT! By: jillmill - Jul 30, 2009 Version: 1.5 I love this app. The update is great with the multi-store function. And it seems easier to keep track of items. I have only one request for a future update. I would love to see a way to mark items for which I am holding a coupon. Sometimes coupons are for a certain size or quantity that I don't always remember to mark my item with due to keeping it in my favorites. As detailed as this app is, I figure it wouldn't be hard to add a way to check if you are holding a coupon. I will absolutely continue to use this app without the coupon feature but would greatly appreciate the addition. Thanks for a wonderful app. To address all that are concerned that the aisles are out of order...YOU move them to the order of your store as before. I admit I didn't appreciate having to do it again...but it's too great of an update to be too upset by that. It only took a few minutes...well worth the time for me. And with the addition of multiple stores, it only makes sense that you need to start again ordering the aisles for each store you wish to save.
Very helpful and will save a lot of time after saving favorites By: babymommy - Nov 5, 2009 Version: 1.5 I have been adding all the things that I usually buy, even if I buy them every 3 months to the favorite list. This way from now on all I have to do is tap what I need. It would save me time if I could add more than one item to the favorite list at a time, but it is still great as-is. I am so happy to have this practical app with my busy schedule! I love the layout, and the ability to customize the list for my needs. Great job!
Best $2 spent on software By: mirspa - Sep 17, 2009 Version: 1.5 This program is so worth any price! I love that I can customize the aisles to match my grocery store and that there are so many pre-filled items. I used it today for the 1st time at the store and my shopping time went way down! I wasn't going back and forth between aisles to get what I needed... Can't wait for more from this developer! ***UPDATED 9/17/09: I love this program the more I use it, especially with the recent updates! The only thing I would like changed now is to be able to set an item for more than 1 store. I have 3 stores entered so far, and any store doesn't work for all my entries***
