- Once you've downloaded the app you can virtually grow
your tree
- Dig a hole: shovel and scoop with your iPhone until your
seedling appears
- Touch the seed to plant the seedling
- Shake your phone to create a storm and when the sun comes your tree begins to grow
- Repeating this 6 times enables your tree to reach full growth
- Share your tree growth at any stage with others by pressing
the share button to email them
- Grow another tree in the forest view screen by clicking on the shovel
- Go up to see all of the other iPhorest users. Help green the Earth - the app places a dot where you first launch iPhorest.

Ok, all the reviews are somewhat correct. It's boring after the first five minutes, you only get one tree.
It would be oh so much better to improve this app and be able to plant more than one tree, pick your tree type, have to care for it at least a few times a week with water and fertilizer. In my version, sometimes a forest fire may come and wipe out your tree, or a lighting strike hits or termites eat your tree or a woodpecker knocks holes in the trunk or a wind storm comes and uproots your tree. In my version, with proper attention and good luck, your forest grows, animals come, birds live and nest in your tree. Come fall, if the tree isn't an evergreen, the leaves turn color and over the winter, the trees lose their leaves completely. There's snow on the ground and the whole thing is timed to the seasons.
See, then you'd keep using this app and it could connect to the company's servers and send reminders of why you bought it in the first place . . . to make a donation to plant a REAL tree in Louisiana.
But after five minutes, since it didn't really DO anything, I erased it. Do not buy this because you are expecting some great fun "pet rock" kind of app; you are making a donation to the environment and that's all you are getting.
Not really fair to rate it so low, because all you people who gave it low star ratings didn't understand what and why you were donating $5.
But they should really improve the app and make the user want to keep it on their phone and keep using it.

One-star reviewers of apps like this demonstrate the exact type of rude selfishness that has been CAUSING our environmental problems - not to mention many of our other social and global problems - in the first place!
This app is not about play. It is not about virtually growing a tree or a forest. This app is about donating money to help the environment in the REAL world. If you're looking for a game, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an effective way to make a difference in the real world, buy this! It's not a game. Think of it as an "interactive thank you e-card" for your donation.
MY only suggestion for this app would be to provide a way, say on a monthly basis, for users to "re-buy" and donate again for additional REAL trees. WELL DONE, iPHOREST!

Awesome because they ACTUALLY plant a real tree. The app is fun untill your tree is as big as it can be.
