I have seen an Estate Agent in London using QR codes on their for sale signs and an app on camera phones. This works very well providing you have already stumbled upon the house.The GPS idea is brilliant as it enables you to find houses not on main thorough fairs.If I were selling I would use RM just because of this app.For instances where there are many houses for sale in the same location, the buyer is not an iPhone owner or no GPS signal is available due to building density a possible enhancement could be the inclusion of QR functionality.Well done RM

Just had to laugh at the review from the moron agent who said he would rather have a discount for listing fees, than a free app! How about you greedy agents give us home buyers and sellers something for a change huh? Sorry, rant over.
Well done rightmove. Decent first version, looking forward to improvements in future versions.

I already use the Rightmove website, so when I saw the iPhone app I had to give it a try! It works brilliantly - elegantly simple, yet as powerful as the web interface (and probably even more so.) The app lets you choose a location - either entered manually, or (probably the most useful feature) your current location based on GPS. Then you can search for properties to rent or for sale in the vicinity of that location. Once you have searched, filters allow you to narrow down your choices and get a customised list of properties. For a given property, its pictures and description can be viewed, as well as its location on a Google map within the app. Here lies another piece of brilliance - this map will also show your current location, meaning that you can see where you are in relation to the property you are viewing. This makes it incredibly easy to find the property itself and see it 'in the flesh.'
Overall, a fantastic app, making house-hunting a breeze. No more trying to guess where the properties are in an estate agent's window; now you can find areas you like the look of and get a list of properties around there! Genius!

Needs to tie up with right move account

Used this today driving round and finding nice houses in the area we were in, but it doesn't allow any linkage with your right move account. Would be nice if you could save properties on the iPhone and see them later on the website, or make notes when you are t the property etc. Showing saved properties on a map would also be useful. Also would like to see floor plans and better formating of text. Except that very good. Found quite a few nice properties when we found loctions and village we liked.

This app is awesome and free (bonus!!)Firstly i always find that sat a desk on a pc for hours lookin for a home to be a physical drain even on a laptop it's still tedious. As amazing as the iPhone is we all will probs admit safari isn't that great for certain things ie zooming in and this almost always ends with clicking the wrong boxes etc. This app has simplified my experience on the whole process of lookin for a home. I'm no longer bored at a desk or sore from sitting funny. You put in your area of intrest bedrooms price etc into boxes that are big and easy for chubby fingered me and an easy to view list shows up with all properties in your criteria. Simple and perfect (also it has an option at the top to enhance your critera eg house type)All in 5/5 I can now house hunt on the train, waiting for a bus, before I fall asleep or even on the toilet lol I suppose my essay basically is trying to say that if you want a free app that is designed to make lookin for a hous quick easy and palm friendly then this is your tool.

Was good app until the update now crashes as the other review says. But i am sure this problem will be fixed. This is a great app please keep up the good work . Gone are the days, scribbling addresses and post codes, searching various web sites. I used this today searching for properties to buy. Clipped it to the in car cradle and drove from one property to the next. Great save feature and it's free. Those saying it doesn't work or will not locate you, your reception must be bad or your iPhone broken, it works fine for me. Does crash now and again, but a bug fix should cure.

I cannot praise Rightmove enough for releasing this app! No more searching for properties online at home, then either writing or printing the details before having a scout... and with its GPS functionality, I can now drive to an area I like, hit ‘Get my current location’ and it shows me what’s for sale in that area!!! This is gonna take some of the stress out of house hunting for sure! WELL DONE RIGHTMOVE! :)

I'm guessing these guys had a problem a couple of days ago, at first I was getting network errors etc, but these problems have now stopped for me.The app finds properties near me, shows descriptions and pictures as well as plots them on a map, what more should it do, it's very good. A previous reviewer said an advanced search was needed, there is a very effective filter screen giving this functionality at the top of the first page of results, so don't rely on that particular internet "expert"Yet again an app gets negative reviews from people who don't realise the issues with delivering tools like this, I suspect rightmoves database was a victim of this apps launch marketing, we all get things wrong sometimesIsn't it funny that the most vocal when attacking an app can't string together a sensible sentence without including "total crap", "worst app ever", smilies and text speak!

*To all the reviewers that are having problems - this review is not fake, or a plant, and I'm definitely not insane!*RightMove cannot be congratulated enough for releasing this app. Although it's missing some essential search features, I'm sure this can be considered for future updates. This app makes it so easy to view and save properties - the UI is very smooth and easy to use. It's free as well, so there really is no excuse for not downloading it!

I heartily recommend this app to anyone on the lookout for houses - works like a charm (I've certainly not experienced any issues with it). The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of any link up to accounts on the Right Move website. It'd be great if I could use this to view the properties I've already got saved on there.Still, that's a minor quibble and shouldn't put you off getting it, especially since it's free!

This is a great app, even better than the rightmove website, the only reason it has obtained 4 out of 5 is due to a couple of minor annoysnces (IMHO) 1. After viewing details of properties you click back you are taken to the very first page, surely you should be back to the last property viewed.2. When viewing the slideshows the images don't last very longer, perhaps less than 1 second? Hopefully these niggles will be sorted out in a near future update when I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars.

I think that this app is brilliant. Clear, easy and intuitive to use. I love the comments from the estate agent, what an idiot LOL!The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you can't log in with your account if you want to and the fact that you can't rotate the pictures into full screen (unless i've missed something).Overall, it's very good for just kicking back and searching for property ... which us exactly what is was designed to do!

This app is a very well made one to locate the houses around your town ,city or street .It does have a very good list of houses and shops for sale. It even picks up the ones on your street But there are a few houses that have been for sale in my street for about 3 months now and it had not updated them . I am sure soon they will be updated and otherwise this is a brilliant app must download

I get really pissed off when people slate good apps when it's obvious it's something wrong with their phone. The app works brilliantly, yes there are a couple of little glitches but as a whole it does exactly what it says it's gonna do. Why on earth one person said save your money, the bloody thing is free! If your looking for an easy way to check the property market on your phone, then this is it.

Evidently their servers are getting hammered by thousands of iPhone users at the moment, so I'm going to give them a break with my review and rate it on it's actual functionality. I assume the network errors will eventually resolve themselves once things settle into more normal use. When you use it and it works this app is exceptionally useful. Looking for rental locations in your area is very enlightening for getting an idea as to whether or not you are being ripped off! Also, it's helpful to learn that I'll never, ever be able to afford to buy any where in my vicinity so I'm going to have to look elsewhere. I'm looking forward to being able to look up all the prices in the spot standing in to see if it's somewhere we can live or not. My only criticism is that you can't modify a saved search without having to save it as a new one. It would be nice to be able to change parameters of a saved search without the need to create a new one from it.

Great app for searching for properties, can search by filtering price range, type of property, how many bedrooms, and how you'd like the list to sort (price increasing / decreasing). Results show photos, description, where on map. It might not have full features of website but is a good tool for on the move. My only issue is that it occassionally crashes, usually on a search I haven't saved, and I have to start again.

This application has opened up the search of housing with the ease of doing so from the iPhone. Searching for houses has always been a painful process in the past, but now it has become a simple and quite enjoyable experience.A couple of things I have noted that would make the application a totally great app would be to have the ability to search deeper into a users preferences - keywords on what they ate looking for, more than just the actual location known. BUGI've found that once you click into a property, then click into it's images, maps etc then return to the main search the application sends you back to the very start of the search - I've noticed this with other apps in the passed 'ebay' which generally get fixed within updates.All in all a great app! :-)

A really well implemented app. Offers a clean interface, that is simple and pleasant to use and provides easy access to all of the relevant details.A couple of improvements I'd suggest are:- be able to view all saved properties on the map simultaneously, so that you can easily plot an efficient route to different properties in the same area. If this could be integrated with the route finding and gps capabilities (though I appreciate this may not be possible), even better- when emailing/recommending a property, include links to launch the mobile site and the iPhone app, in addition to the main rightmove site, so that the recepient can choose the most appropriate for them at the time.
