Great all purpose app  rating of Shopper
By: Caranneh - Mar 16, 2009
Version: 2.1.6
I use this app for several lists - to do, groceries, household needs, keeping track of the myriad of store bonus cards (because I never remember to carry them around). Most helpful is with a little creative entering, I'm able to keep track of current coupons! Instead of sifting thru dozens of coupons, I merely put the one I use in the bin and dig them all at once before checking out --- so convenient. Maybe others would also benefit from a dedicated coupon organizer app....

Best Grocery App So Far  rating of Shopper
By: Ryno Lee - Aug 30, 2008
Version: 1.2
I have been using this app along with 6 others and found it to be the quickest and easiest to use. The design and layout are simple to learn and and easy to check off your grocery items as you shop. I feel that this app can easily be the best by combining some new features that I would love to see.
3 suggestions for the developer:
a) Multiple Shopping Lists:
By adding this functionality to the app a user will be able to put together a grocery list at more than one location to make it easier and quicker to shop. I frequently shop at Costco and Safeway and would like to spit my grocery list to accommodate each store. It would make the overall experience so much better and most users would agree!
b) Bigger Grocery Database:
This app comes with about 200 grocery items to choose from, mostly just the basics though, ie: butter, eggs, milk while the other grocery apps I used had well over 7,000. However, these apps had multiples of 1 item, like 50 types of cheeses and tons of cereal. Use common sense, break the items up but include a larger database to make it easier for people to input items they might not have thought of while making the list.
c) Prices for Items:
Given that I shop at 2 locations (sometimes 3), I usually try to find the best price while shopping. The app uses the space of the iPhone VERY well and has a lot of room to the far right that remains empty. By allowing a small price to appear next to each item on the far right just like the notes underneath (or next to the notes themselves) would allow people to enter in prices while they shop so they can find the better price the next time they shop. For example: Milk at Safeway runs $5.69 but Milk at Costco runs $4.79, I enter this in when I shop so I can determine where to buy it next time.
Thanks. And hopefully we see some good updates soon!
[UPDATE] Prices and quantities for items have been added and the developers are listening to their users! I thought I saw more items in the database which is a good start. Now the only thing we need to make this app simply the best is to add multiple lists or a sort order by grocery store to separate your shopping lists.

Greatest Shopping List Around!!  rating of Shopper
By: Rez19 - Aug 30, 2008
Version: 1.2
This is the 1st app I paid for. And I have no regrets. I got 3 other grocery style apps only one slightly compared but didn't add up to this. Plus a new update made it better. You type what you need then add a note like brand name or amount Ect and your done, you can even add new items and catorogize them or add pics. Like your girlfriends tampons or something. So you'll never get stuck in that isle again wondering which brand she buys. Love it. Thanks guys!

Shopping List Paradise  rating of Shopper

I am a chef & caterer and so I am shopping all the time! This will be a huge timesaver! A few things I would like to see after my first few hours playing around with it. 1. Have a homepage with options like: Lists, Stores, Carts, Aisles, etc. That way you can access different things quickly. 2. I would love to have the # of items in the shopping cart(s) as one of the Home Badge options. On the homepage (if you add one) or the Lists page as well would be nice. 3. Option to enter the address of the store for location purposes. It is not user friendly right now if you have to move the Pin many, many miles away. Thanks for considering these changes/additions! More suggestions from today: 1. Ability to return from Map directly to Shopper w/o having to re- open the application and start over. 2. I'd like to be able to have different prices for the same item available for each different store so I can shop for the best prices.

Such a timesaver!  rating of Shopper
By: Busy_Dad - Aug 30, 2008

Love it. Making my shopping list is a snap now, and with it all in front of me already, I don't have to try to remember things to write down. My only wish would be for when you check an item off, rather than it staying on the main screen, it was moved behind the scenes to a purchased screen, so that the list you were working from would get smaller with each item bought, rather than having to cointinually scroll up and down. Update! Full 5 stars now with the 2 additions on my wish list. Great app!

So glad I bought this!  rating of Shopper

"purple fabric for making dress" may not be in the Shopper database, but that won't stop you from adding it easily. Just type it in and viola, it's on your list! As you check items off your list they disappear into you "cart" instead of getting deleated. I just leave things like milk and bread in the cart and move them back and forth to the list for each new trip to the store! This is the second most frequently used app on my iPhone. Love it!!!!

Cool way to shop  rating of Shopper
By: dwntwnjb - Mar 9, 2009
Version: 2.1.6
I just bought this today and went shopping with it 3 hours later. I've added my most common dinner recipes, staples, and healthy snacks. I found it very easy to find my ingredients and add the ones that weren't there. It was also very easy to then add what I wanted to my shopping list (I did have to look how to do this on the website...SUPER easy though...just push shopping list, push + and start typing what you named your other list/recipe. Once you do that it adds all the ingredients. Awesome!). I didn't use it for amounts today or for prices...didn't care about that part, but it could come in handy. I was able to move the categories around while in the store, so that will make it easier for next time. For me, who doesn't always shop with specific dinners in mind, this will be SUPER convenient to help me make sure I buy everything I need. I LOVE my IPHONE and this is just one more reason to LOVE it.

Best of the bunch  rating of Shopper
By: Jessibird - Aug 26, 2008

A smart shopping list is the function I missed most from my old Palm Pilot. Finally, I again have a digital shopping list that works offline!
I scoped out all the shopping list programs I could find and went with this one. (Developers could learn from these folks: their video preview is what sold me!) The features hit the sweet spot. I don't feel a need to have photos of my grocery items, so that feature is superfluous for me, but I love the completely customizable items and groupings, the notes you can add to each item, and the user interface in general. It's intuitive and natural to use, streamlined the way I'd expect something to be that I'll use on my elegant Apple gadget.
One caveat: When I customized, it was very prone to crashing. I ended up making only 3 or 4 customizations at a time, then exiting and relaunching the app so it wouldn't crash and lose my changes. Finally I had it set up perfectly for my needs.
UPDATE: Yay Shopper programmers! It seems they've been listening to their users. The crashes seem to have been fixed. Also, you can now email your shopping list! And one more nice touch: the Shopper icon on your Home screen has a badge showing the number of items on your current list.

Best grocery list app  rating of Shopper
By: Phynixwh - Mar 9, 2009
Version: 2.1.6
This is the 4th or 5th one I have tried and is definitely the best. I was lucky to get it on sale for $.99. Now that I have used it for a while now, I can say it is worth 4 or 5 dollars. I use it to keep a pantry list as well as shopping list. I create lists by stores. It's easy to add prices to items. I started creating lists to plan meals for the week. The feature to select items from one list to copy or move items to another is great. For example, as I review my pantry list, I can mark items I've run out of and move them to a shopping list. Or I can create a list of items to use on a given day for meal planning. This has made my weekly trip to the grocery stores so much easier. I reported a bug and not long after a new release came that included a fix for the bug. Great support.

Excellent application for shopping  rating of Shopper
By: Molly Black - Jun 6, 2009
Version: 3.0.2
While having a sale to promote the product I downloaded it for free and I have to admit this product is definitely worth the small fee they're asking for it. You can make and share (via email) shopping lists of any type. I use it to organize my different shopping needs and then sending them to my husband. As a disabled woman who needs assistance in shopping, this app makes it so I can even send a shopping list to a friend or a caretaker depending, once again, on my needs. If I need somebody to purchase something from a drug store, I can have that list made ready for them, the same with my alternative medicinal needs. It can appear a bit confusing at first, but once figured out the app makes shopping for myself or having somebody else shop for me all the easier. Yes, I highly recommend this app, not only for disabled people such as myself, but for anybody who likes clearcut shopping lists before they head out to necessary stores.

Does Exactly What I Need It To Do  rating of Shopper
By: Older Than You - Aug 11, 2008
Version: 1.1
I need a list app for my grocery shopping. That's it. I don't also need the app to help with shopping for cars, lumber, stocks, or escorts. Just groceries. I suppose you can use Shopper for those other things but I can only comment on grocery shopping and that comment is "Awesome!" Finding items while typing works great. Adding items to the library of items is easy, easy. Moving the pre-existing library items to other categories works and is easy. The best iPhone apps are the ones that do one thing but do it really well. Shopper is one of those apps.

Great app!!  rating of Shopper
By: FireBreathingPenguin - Nov 4, 2009

i LOOOOVE this aplication! it is really awesome.... i like making my own products, adding notes to ANY item, changin price, quantity, measurement (box, bag, gallon, piece, etc) i use this every time i go to the store. the only thing i would request (i dont think this has been addressed yet) is the ability to BACK UP the items, prices, etc that i have created, onto a webserver or something. it might already do this as part of the regular itunes backup, i'm just not sure. Eitherway, its worth the money for sure!

Very cool app  rating of Shopper
By: Drunkitty McDrunk - Aug 10, 2008
Version: 1.1
Very functional program. I use it almost daily and it's a great keystroke saver making a grocery list. I do not regret buying this proggie one bit, great app at a fair price.
Would like to see:
1. The e-mail function is a great addition, but it would be nice to be able to import it into the shopper program to combine lists. I'm not a coder, so maybe it's easier said than done.
2. Multiple lists capability. So I can have a 'Trader Joe's list; Costco list; Whole Wallet; etc.
If anyone needs a grocery list app I highly recommend it, nice job to the coders who designed it.

Better than post-its  rating of Shopper
By: bellverde - Feb 27, 2009
Version: 1.1
I am a list-making queen. I start at least one new post-it list each day at work. Some days, many more. This app could slowly save many trees as I transfer some of those to my phone. Initially (7/08), I ran into an issue at least one post noted already. It was not real friendly to customization. Shopper crashed on me after several (8-10) add-ins. I think the final straw was adding a category. I restarted my iPhone and it came back. Also, I emailed the developer, and not only did he respond within 30 minutes, but he addressed the problem immediately. I haven't had any issues since and am glad to have this nice little program in my pocket/purse.
He's since added multiple lists, list templates, areas to customize quantities, notes, prices, and denote whether items are taxable or not. I don't use all the fields, but am considering adding prices in so I can budget better.
For anyone who is not satisfied with the product or would like to see something changed, I would highly recommend contacting Mark through the link on iTunes. He is very responsive.

Not Just For Groceries  rating of Shopper
By: atavision - Feb 26, 2009
Version: 2.1.5
This is a great shopping app and as the title infers, not just for the grocery store.
You can custom make your own categories and add as many items as you need.
The app is fast and smooth in its operation and has been solid (no crashes)
since I got it.
It doesn't tell you what aisle the products are on, but then for me, wandering the
aisles is half the fun.
Update - I have now been using this app for a few months and it continues to work
flawlessly. The longer I use it the more shopping related uses I find for it.

Beautiful, Feature Rich... Perfect   rating of Shopper
By: AreJayOne - Nov 4, 2009
Version: 5.0
I purchased Grocery iQ shortly after it's release after a friend mentioned it having a fairly large database, (which replaced Grocery Gadget on my iPhone). After purchasing Grocery iQ, I immediatly noticed it lacked pricing/sales tax features (I mistakenly assumed these features would be available) . However after shooting off an email to then developers Free State Labs, about potental updates having pricing/sales tax added, to which I received a prompt reply of "will be in next update/release, due in a few weeks" . I then became satisfied that this new purchase was well worth the $1.99 .Here I am, 5-month's later & still no pricing/sales tax features...  BUT, I'm glad! Why ? After emailing new developers, coupons.com about what's up with no major updates & the mention of version 1.5 being submitted on 3/24/09 & still no release (which I found odd as a friend of mine submitted a new app on 4/13/09 & it hit the app store on 4/27/09)? To which I've yet to receive a reply , I decided to see what else is available, which brought me to Shopper 3.0 . An absolute beautiful, well designed, feature rich & in my opinion, perfect, grocery/shopping app for my iPhone ! While owning & using Grocery iQ I noted down some features I'd wanted to see in future releases of Grocery iQ. After reading the description of Shopper 3.0 I found not only every feature I hoped for , but even others I didn't even think of but love as part of version 3.0 !So, to the developers of Shopper 3.0, thank you for a wonderful app that will make shopping a much easier & more convienent task!EDIT:Sworddncr: You swipe left to right to delete a store when your on the "Select Current Store" form. Sounds like your not giving this app the time it deserves to fimilarize yourself with it. I also left Grocery iQ to come to Shopper so I'm fimilar with your situation.EDIT 2:Like the new 4.0 "shared list" feature, but I'm still longing for a UPC/database feature? An email I received said there working on a database, so hope to see it soon? It be so nice to enter in a UPC or scan the barcode via camera & all the details be pre-filled.AreJayOne, CA - USA

Brilliant App  rating of Shopper
By: Pixelpics - 13-Sep-2009
Version: 3.1
A superb App and worth the time and energy making the once-only main template list. It saves me so much time as shopping is now a quick, focussed dash! In newer versions I'd like to see: 1. More Aisle Icons 2. Customisable Aisle colours 3. Ability to share lists either by downloading from the website or via updates (major retailers may be interested in this in return for displaying their banner) 4. Improve the image handling

Really needs a coupon check box.  rating of Shopper
By: Lady Kara - Feb 24, 2009
Version: 2.1.7
I absolutely love this app. I've spent days deciding which app to replace my handy shopper on my Palm with. This is by far the closest replica. One of the exciting features is the ability to email your shopping list! I emailed it to my husband and it shows everything in perfect aisle order. My husband loves to just zip through the store. Another feature that I love is how I can customize everything to suit my needs. The app is very easy to work with and the way it puts things into your basket after you check it off is really neat. There is another feature that lets you take things out of your basket and put back on your list, all the while keeping track of the amount of $$ is in the basket and still on your list. This helps me to not go over when I check out since I use cash and am on a strict budget. The only request that I have is for a coupon check box. I am a coupon clipping queen and I need a way to see which items I have coupons for while I'm shopping. For that, I'd give this app 5 stars. I'd say this is going to be the best app I've used since getting my iPhone!

Handy, Intuitive App.  rating of Shopper
By: M. Lovejoy - Nov 3, 2009
Version: 5.0
For the compulsive organizer and anyone else who wants to streamline their shopping experience, this is a handy little app. Easy to learn and use.
However, If you enjoy spending extra time at the store standing and staring blankly while trying to remember what else you came for, or you have a particular fondness for that second, rushed trip to pick up that thing that you *still* forgot to get, then this app is not for you. You would probably be happier with space invaders.
