Mavro Inc. has released a life-saving gem. Literally. If you live in Texas, California, or any other state where a good percentage of people are natively Spanish speaking then this application is invaluable. I can't even imagine how much this could help out med-school students who didn't take 4 years of Spanish or just don't remember much.
Great App. I cant wait until they do something else (other languages, voice, pictures, etc.)

What a great app! Well worth the money! As an emt I need something that is fast and functional and this app has them both. Navigation is very easy and is not complicated by terminology and questions that I don't need. Time is of the essence and with this app I get only the pertinent information that is necessary for patient care. If you can't decide which app to get, this one absolutely gets my vote. I even hear an audible version may be coming!

I have worked in the ER for a very long time, I know spanish very well;
However, I still downloaded this application. I have read the previous reviews to this app and find most of them to be correct.
I was concerned about purchasing the application, after reading a review or two, and I contacted the owners of the application.
They reassured me about the application and I trusted in the product as a patient would trust me.
I now own the guide and have been playing with it, and find it extremely useful.
The punctuation is correct (granted you know Spanish) and being in healthcare, we work of color codes an systems, and find the selection of colors for the categories to be useful.
If you are a doctor/nurse/paramedic/affiliated with patient work up, then you would understand the exact sections and what questions one would expect in the sections.
So the application's name is Emergency Medical Spanish, which probably means - for Emergency situations. The creators of the guide stipulated that this is not a comprehensive guide and that the EMSG is used to gain vital medical knowledge.
I support the Emergency Medical Spanish Guide. I appreciate their early phone call back regarding my initial concern with the product.

4 pages of applications (no games) & this is the only one that has actually improved pt. care for me in the ICU, in a quantifiable manner...fast chest pain identification, neuro status changes with those dreaded Q1hr neuro checks, a moving pt. who calmed during a neck line placement right after the interpreter left, AGAIN. This application is stunning and I can honestly say that I have cut my requirement for a live interpreter by 50%. The two reviews below are exceptionally suspicious & I must remark on them, for simply "having an opinion" on this application, whatever it may be, would HAVE to preclude a 1 star rating...I've used another well-known application with a voice that was very difficult to understand; I would not have rated that a 1 star. The voice in this application is exceptionally CLEAR, ACCURATE, & MEASURED. I Strongly recommend the two reviews be pulled for scrutiny...I work at a trauma center in the Bay area (which services a large Spanish-speaking population) & I can say ALL my collueges are impressed & it is the ONLY application of mine which elicits further inquiry after demonstration. I believe in this pruduct enough to defend it & endorse it 100% for improving peoples lives.

This product is AWESOME! The chapters are comprehensive for emergency medicine, and the questions in each chapter are comprehensive for the assessment being done. I dont speak a lick of Spanish but I used this guide in the field and narrowed down the patients complaint/history/meds/events...everything...I was even able to explain to the patient about what we were doing with IV therapy etc. It is such a relief for me to finally be able to give legitimate attention and care to my Spanish-speaking patients.

been playing around with this for awhile and i find it pretty useful. covers a lot of the basic ailments and common emergencies that an EMT/paramedic would run into and categorizes them. it's pretty much idiot proof since the questions are formatted to illicit a yes/no type response. last thing you want to be doing out on a call is flipping through an english-to-spanish dictionary trying to ask medical related questions and re-translating the answers back into english.
not every crew has the luxury of having a bilingual spanish speaker on board so this is the next best thing.

This is has been nothing but helpful for me. I work in the Emergency Room and this application has saved me and some patients in life threating situations. This application is an instant inexpensice and easy way to communicate with spanish speak co workers, patients, and doctors. Ever since I have downloaded this to my iphone it has been nothing but helpful. I give this 5 stars and if there were more I would give it 10! Download this NOW, it is definitely worth it!

This application is one of the most cost-effective solutions to a problem that I've come across. The easy-to-use format is a breeze to use and to my knowledge, has no equal. The colors can sometimes be annoying, but I'm picky, and they do serve a functional purpose. Many products claim to be time-savers, but this application is not only a time-saver, but could also be a life-saver as well. I look forward to updates and the possibility of an audio version! Keep up the good work!

This is SUCH an effective and simple tool for communicating with patients. All too often, patients' needs are not met, adequate care is not given, and/or medical errors are made because of communication barriers. This application is so convenient and necessary for those in the healthcare profession. It ensures quality care for our Spanish-speaking patients and could actually SAVE LIVES! Thanks for such a great tool. I will keep a look out for what you come up with next!

I've tried several of these M/S apps and this one is by far the best and hopefully will get better. I asked a couple of co-workers in the ER how accurate it was and they both pronounced it great. So why the 4 stars instead of 5?
It's lacking a dedicated X-ray section, a vital part of emergency medicine. Separating the few terms it does have into it's own section away from labs would make it far easier. Adding other terms like 'hold your breath' and 'breath' is also essential to a radiographer. Adding a search feature would also enhance this app.

VERY USEFUL IF YOUR NEW TO SPANISH, IT IS VERY HELPFUL FOR ME AS I DONT KNOW SPANISH, WITH THIS GUIDE I DONT NEED HELP TRANSLATING. I HAVE LOOKED AT MANY OF THE GUIDES OFFERING THIS, BUT THIS GUIDE IS HIGHER IN QUALITY.
