Description:
For the first time on iPhone! An effective hearing test that measures your threshold of hearing for sounds of different frequencies. Find out just how far your ears can hear ranging frequencies. Most of the people should be able to hear up to around 15kHz. From around 17kHz upwards, we get into a range that only the under 20's can hear. General: The human auditory system is sensitive to a wide range of sounds, both in terms of frequency (pitch) and intensity (loudness). The lowest sound (in pitch) we can typically hear is about 20 Hz, and the highest sound 20KHz. However, we are not all equally sensitive with all differing frequencies. Features: • With this version, you will test your frequency threshold, using static volume tones. • Using the iPhone headphones, you will be asked to adjust the iPhone volume, for clear and effective playback tones. • Your left and right ear will be tested alternately with every frequency, from the above frequency ranges. • After the test has been completed, you will get a report of your hearing frequency response. • History module lets you save your tests ================================= For Version 3.0 Some users reported a problem after updating from version 2.0. Uninstall and reinstall (free charge) has solved this issue. ================================= New features to be released on the next version (free update) - A new test to find out also your intensity threshold (measured by dB). - Generate a dB/Hz graph according to your test result.

Very useful and a must for all ipod listeners By: Coooldoc - 03-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0 Having been an ipod user, I always worried about hearing loss but never bothered to get tested. This app is a dream come true. I found that my left ear was more affected at high frequencies. I wonder if it is because I always use any phone on my left ear.
It would be easier if I didn't have to press the play button manually so many times and click on the pop up screen so many times for yes and no. The sounds should play one after the other automatically. There should be a play again button if wasn't sure if i heard it or not. Instead of a yes and no button, yes should be default and a button should be pressed if we didnt hear it.

A must have!! By: abuksis - Feb 3, 2009 Version: 1.1 Works great, tested it on all my family. Nice and simple. For the last reviewer: it works excellent on my iPhone with the 2.2 version , and also after update to 2.2.1
Great hearing test By: Gpz11111 - Jan 7, 2009 Version: 1.1 One of the great testing software I ever worked with.and very simple
Thanks for the Update!!! By: daveweb - Dec 17, 2008 Version: 3.0 after this update it is very easy and clear to use, exactly what i need, thanks!!!
fun to mess with ppl By: greeser - Dec 6, 2008 Version: 1.0 I can hear it but my mom can't lol
Nice and simple By: gulin - Dec 4, 2008 Version: 3.0 Very nice application that tests your hearing, does what supposed to do it's just the same hearing test that i used to go over every 3 moth when i was at the army.
Can't save update By: Mr. Steve K - Feb 21, 2009 Version: 1.1 Looks like version 1.1 is latest and saving will be available starting with version 2. So go out and buy this app so we get the free upgrade quickly!!!
from a pediatrician By: abollmann - Dec 19, 2008 Version: 1.1 Great application. Easy, slick interface. I reviewed together with a technician servicing and calibrating my in-office audiometer. What is missing to make it five stars and really useful are dB (decibel) levels for all the frequencies. A larger result layout would also help. Now make this email enabled and you got it.
Excellent must have, recommendation By: Shamim - 15-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0 Would be great to let us know what must be expected result for different ages?? Other than that great

Not too bad By: Biddy Johno - 06-Jan-2009 Version: 1.1 Tried this liked it. Only usefull as a toy,I'm hard of hearing and it did show a big difference between me & the wife
Cannot see the results By: OutlawJoe - Dec 6, 2008 Version: 1.0 Due to my 20% red-green color vision deficiency, I cannot see any difference in the utilized red/green font color of the test frequencies. Red-green color dificiency (incorrectly referred to as color blindness) is quite common in the general population. Generally accepted contemporary design practice utilizes a concurrent change in size, location, or label over and above a color code to enhance recognition of a status indicator. For this app you could show the red results in bold or with a bullet, for example. Other than the above, the app worked fine and is handy to check freq response of different headphones once you establish your own hearing "curve" on a known reference broad band set. The app provides finer frequency steps than a competing app as well. I look forward to future updates.
Should be free By: Amdg222 - 4-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0 Badly done and, having to sit through a redundant range of frequencies that you can obviously hear. Samples click at start and end leading some to think they heard a high frequencu sample. The $0.99 price is too high, this should be free.

Audiometry By: Doug_UK - 11-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0 A great idea, confounded by the response curves of you earphones. My hearing allegedly cuts out at 10KHz when using Shure 300s and 8KHz when using cheaper phones. And when I hit the limit I had to keep running the tests up to 20KHz - three responses for each channel which became tedious.
Great idea. I wish I could recommend it but hardwarelimitations means it needs more expensive hardware and a better user interface.
put a DB meter on it By: doubledotok - Dec 22, 2008 Version: 1.1 This is fine as far as it goes but if the volume slider had a db meter to test at different db levels it would be perfect. Normal hearing is from 0 to 20 db on the audiogram. This would be neat. And finally if it would show a graph of your hearing it would be fantastic!!
