Reviews:
A pretty good app for eye care professionals and doctors - but some improvements could be made. By: Graham_B - 22-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Initially this didn't sync with my iPod touch 2nd gen but now does. This is a big improvement! A pretty good app for eye care professionals and doctors - but some improvements could be made. This app could have better navigation (with buttons at the bottom as well as the top) and instructions. Also a few different options for distance acuity (a mini letter chart) and near acuity (English text in different point sizes) would be good. Currently numbers and illiterate E's are used. The pupil gague should have the pupil sizes near the edge of the screen for easier comparison and some different fixation images instead of the single one provided. Also some eye diagrams such as a schematic cross section and an ocular fundus should be provided to complete this app. It does have an Amsler grid and Isihara colour testing plates which are excellent. All in all this is a good start and the authors should be encouraged!
At long last....... By: Bablu1234 - 06-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 A much anticipated app. Thank you so much for now. Will post further reviews later but just too happy to fully try app yet.
It's a eYeTest on your iPhone ! By: byronchurch - Oct 2, 2008 Version: 1.0 Renato Neves is my iOp ! I hope this is a work in progress . Thanks !
Good App By: mdyod - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 Very nice app and easy to use. The color tests are very handy to do on the go like at a free screening. Cant wait to see the new features in the update. Things that would be nice to see added: Various calculators (i.e. Glaucoma risk, Ks to base curve, etc) A "back" button More great test (Park Three Step, etc) keep up the good work!!
Good app By: Zozo, MD - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 A fun app to use. I'm just not sure how useful it is in real life.
Wonderful app! By: Sunad - Sep 29, 2008 Version: 1.0 This one is just brilliant and deserves a lot more publicity. At the time I wrote this, it was grossly under-rated for silly reasons.
Well done By: RafPer - 1-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Usefull and well done application.
Brilliant! By: Neil1234 - 05-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 How about a Snellen chart too?
I see By: Z182 - Sep 30, 2008 Version: 1.0 Well I guess I'm color blind! This is a great app! The color blind test works, it's nice having a test on the go.

Some tests have no desript By: FACE_HUMPER - 2-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Please ad descriptions in future updates because I don't understand half the tests but this would be 5 star if it did
Read the description carefully! By: Mikegeordie - 04-May-2009 Version: 1.1.1 I didn't, and so only realized that THIS IS AN APP FOR PROFESSIONAL OPTHALMOLOGISTS ONLY!
There are no instructions and no tests to measure yourself, it is a tool for medics. My fault for not checking, but it really should have that bit on bold type or something.
I'm sure it is a great app, and of much use to the right people, but certainly not for the majority.
Good app but could be great By: Dr. Paul M - Mar 14, 2009 Version: 1.0 I've had app for months now without any updates!! 1st, there are too many color plates... 10 would be fine and they should be swipable. The "Next" button is too close to the "i" button. Making them swipable would eliminate this problem and shortening the number of plates would alow you to use the most useful plates easier as the ones that differentiate between Protan and Deutan defects are near the end of the queue! Lastly, the amsler grid needs to be larger and the grid pattern not so small. Currently, it only picks up field anomalies at edge of FAZ at normal 16 in viewing distance. PLEASE update and make this a GREAT app instead of just good.
phisicians? By: JkanMD - Oct 9, 2008 Version: 1.0 Is anyone else a little bothered by the typo in the description?
Okay but not spectacular By: Disgruntal - Oct 7, 2008 Version: 1.0 Would be useful to be able to navigate back to menu. Would be better to use a Rosenbaum chart for near vision.
Good start By: Drevil007 - Oct 5, 2008 Version: 1.0 Good first attempt. It might be more helpful to have a standard Snellen chart. When you're trying to have someone read the near field acuity chart, it is difficult to differentiate between lines if they're not reading 100% (how about the color bar separators or at least some acuity markers on the right side?)
Eh.....it's okay By: Dinokid - Sep 28, 2008 Version: 1.0 It's cool to check your eyes but when u do the color test it freeze way to much. But hey it's free and u can also delete it.
Not useful By: 3Rd_beAsT - 2-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Unless you're an optimetrist, there's really no point in getting this app other than to see if you have colour deficiency

Good idea, but errors By: tekjew - Oct 14, 2008 Version: 1.0 The color test is quite helpful, but the other tools range from gimmicky (the iPhone as a flashlight for testing pupillary response? It's not direct enough) to inaccurate (the pupil sizes are all off by 1 to 1.5 mm, the Amsler is not the right size to provide macular coverage, etc.). Also, I'm a little weirded out by seeing Dr. Neves in the splash screen, but maybe that's just me.
