I am a pharmacy student and this was the second app that I downloaded for my ipod touch (the first being epocrates). This app never ceases to amaze me! I haven't tried any of the other apps out here that cost money because I haven't felt the need to! Everytime we learn about somehing in class and I find the equation etc in Medical Calculator I always check and make sure I get the same answer working it out and so far it has never failed me. Thanks for making my life easier. :)

I appreciate the effort to release a free medical calculator. Only a couple of calculations at this time. The pregnancy wheel could use some work- the "Weeks Pregnant" is based off the conception date and not the LMP- which is normally the convention used by every other pregnancy wheel/health care provider. It would be more useful to use the traditional method. It would also be useful to work backwards from a known due date.
EDIT: updated version addressed the preg wheel issues. Clean interface. Four stars now.
EDIT: Frequent updates, now has favorites, tons of calcs, author clearly interested in a good product- and it's free! 5 stars.

this is great.. really great... really takes off time calculating these variables in the emergency room and other...
but.. for a suggestion... in some of the formulas, you can alternate between us and Si in each variable... some you have to use either one of them...
this gets complicated, since most labs use mg/dl and mEq/L... it would be the best if in all formulas ( like cockroft gault creatinin) u could use some in SI and some in US ....

I had downloaded this app when it first came out . the funcionality keeps getting better and better. true I would not probably trust this app with my patients straight away but I do use it as a pointer to screen problems AND remind myself about the parameter formulae. as I said it keeps getting better...

I'm currently in school to work in a medical laboratory and this app is amazing. I was so excited to find it and wish I had sooner! Would really have come in handy for some of my clinical chemestry tests!

I work in EMS and I frequently use this application in the field. Since some of the calculations are out of my scope of practice, I'm able to pick my favorites and put them in a seperate folder where I don't have to go through all of them for the ones I frequently use. I would also like to see added is, a Revised Trauma Score as well. Thanks.

I am surprised program of this caliber is actually free right now. I'm sure that, as others have mentioned, there are other programs that may be more extensive. But for most people this is going to have what you need the vast majority of the time

Every resident. medical student and most attendings use the calculators.....these are easy to use, accurate, fast, free!! I have benifitted immensely from this.

i had an old (free) palm app that calculated my IV drips. it was a gem, as this is something most med calculators do not include (such as the one offered by skyscape).
i am so happy that this medical calculator took the time to include it. thank you!!
quick data entry. clean interface. just perfect.

This is a truly awesome app. No matter where I am in the hospital, I use this calculator all the time. Maybe I didn't say it clearly enough. ALL. THE. TIME. The breadth of calculators is great, and I love being able to put my most used apps on a favorite list. Keep up the great work!
