This app - the Muscle Head and Neck System is a high-end learning/reference application covering the muscles of the head and neck and consists of a section from the powerful full version app, "The Muscle System Pro".
Check out the index function - it will zoom in and find the item you choose from the index. Also check out the different rotational views - by just dragging your finger over the muscle.
OVERVIEW:
This app contains a full section from the full Muscle System Pro app. This section concentrates on the muscles of the head and neck. The full version has the entire muscle system and includes up to 7 layers of muscles. These apps are powerful reference tools that allows the user to zoom in and identify an individual muscles with the ability to remove layers of muscle to reveal deeper muscles. They have been designed to accommodate medical professionals as well as medical students from basic to advanced levels of anatomical medical knowledge.
MUSCLE HEAD AND NECK SYSTEM FEATURES:

•Ability to zoom in and identify any muscle of the head and neck.
•Ability to rotate the bone or region for anterior, lateral, posterior and medial views, inferior and superior views are available where appropriate.

•An index that find any muscle.
•Ability to test yourself with a fun Quiz function.
FULL MUSCLE SYSTEM PLUS FEATURES:
•All of the above features applied to the entire muscle system.
•Ability to drill down and remove each layer of muscle - revealing deeper muscles (up to 7 layers down).
•Over 350 high-quality 3-Dimensional images of the muscle.
•Over 1,000 flags that label all muscles.
HOW TO USE:
The user is presented with a high-quality 3D model/image of the head and neck muscles. The user can zoom in to any area of the head and neck - by taping on a region - taping again will zoom in further - eventually the user will have zoomed into a individual muscle. The user can then identify the different muscle parts by pressing on the flags. There is also a super Magnification Mode that greatly magnifies a muscle part allowing the user to press on flags that are close together!
INDEX:
The app can also be used as a visual reference tool by using the index: By simply selecting a name from the index - the application will show the user where it is located - by zooming into the appropriate region and finding and labelling the item requested.
VIEWS:
Throughout the app - even while zooming in - the user can get different anatomical views: anterior, lateral, posterior, medial and even inferior and superior where appropriate.
QUIZ:
This is a handy and fun testing tool - the app asks the user to zoom in and identify a muscle in the head and neck. If after three attempts the user is unable to identify the muscle - he/she can ask the app to show them.

This is a pretty well designed app.It does a nice job of illustraing the muscle and bone structures, and it is allowing me to better manage my chronic back and neck pain by helping me understand how each muscle works. It also allows me to talk more intelligently and accurately with my doctors about my chronic pain.I would highly recommend this app if it cost $5. Given that it is free, installing it is a no brainer. :)

Needs more info on the labels - i.e. origin and nerve supply - i emailed them and they said that its coming out as a free upgrade next week.

This is a fantastic app - it allows you to zoom into an area - rotate it, label it, and then peel off each layer of muscle and label again. I will recomend this to my students and will but the full version. it needs more information on the muscles like origin and nerve supply - but I heard that that is coming as a free upgrade shortly - well done 3D4Medical!
