Extremelly interesting, especially in my area. For those wondering how this works; people with actual desktop scanners run an easily available audio patch cable from the scanner to the line-in on their computer, then by using Windows Media Center or some other Streaming software, they can share the feed. ScanAmerica (Among Others) is just a database that attaches to these feeds and provides a One-Stop Source for them. Police Scanner App just rebroadcasts these using the Internet.

So I have REVISED my rating to FIVE STARS. I apologise to Juicy Development and just hope we can get Fresno/ Clovis, CA online soon.

Nice app I listen in all the time I'm a big fan of the first 48 so of course a lot of those areas on the show are on my favorites. I just have two things I would like added. 1.) please add Austin,tx and round rock PD as well as brazoria county sherrifs 2.) add a way to listen to it still while browsing the Internet and what not. I still haven't memorized all the codes so keep having to exit out and look them up. Besides that it is an awesome app and it beats paying tons of money on a real scanner.

I don't usually write reviews so that should say something right there. I've been listening to the scanner for five straight hours, it is amazing! I've always wanted to get my own scanner but it was cost prohibitive. Thanks to this app I can enjoy listening to my home count police, fire, rescue and most neighboring counties (Orlando florida are). I would have paid $20 for this app in a heartbeat! I'm basing most of this review on the Seminole county channel which is North Orlando burbs. Peace

You know, I really never felt the need to write a review before because most of the people alredy had said everything to say, however with this I must say...everyone who is complaining about the load time and giving this app a 1 star cause of it well if your life is so complicated that you can't wait 30 secs to a min for a live Internet stream to load then you shouldn't even be wasting ur time on your phone.... And the people bashing the rating cause your area isn't on it yet, it's not their fault that your town doesn't broadcast, go to your town and have them start broadcasting. All in all this app is a must if your in any PD, PD, EMS agency, or he'll if your just nosey, I gladly paid the 3$

First of all, I'd like to say this is a very good app. It is real, I didn't believe it at first but after I got it I thought it was great, and knew it was real. People are whining about the loading times, it takes about 10-20 seconds at most, thats not that long people, relax. Also, the broadcasts are clear and are very interesting to listen to. Really hope to see New Orleans and/or Jefferson Parish (JPSO) police departments on here someday. It is, however, dissapointing to see that there are no Louisiana police departments broadcasting on here, aside from that, this app has great potential and like I said is very interesting. Houston, TX police and Memphis, TN are very interesting to listen to. 5 stars all around.

This app blew my expectations away. Who would have thought that this 1.99 app would be able to do what my 200$ police scanner does? This app gets almost all of the cities near me. It is fantastic. Bethlehem isn't working but other than that nearly every area works. Updates likely to give more city feeds will make it even better. I am always listening to this scanner on the go. This was the best purchase i have made in the appstore. Great for Volunteer fire fighters and anyone else who is curious whats going on in their area. There is a list of the cities the scanner picks up on Juicy Developments website.

Probably one of my favorite apps...definately get it!!

If you are a law enforcement junky like myself, this app is alot of fun. I can listen to alot of the radio traffic from my own police department and all over the state, country, and for that matter, the world!! The only thing I could say that is not a bad thing but that it would be able to be able to work outside of wi-fi on edge. Other than that, it is awesome, I have heard so many interesting things all over the place and listen to it every day, I just wish I could enjoy it on the move... Developers: great job, cool idea and I can't wait for even more cool functions!! Customers: Buy it!! It is interesting to hear what goes on in your own neighborhoods :) Pt. 2 after new version, still love it, even better than last version, I like the newly organized views!! Kudos again!!

I simply love this app, that's all there is to it. When I got it it was free, but now that they have added a price tag they have improved it quite a bit, adding many more channels, including ones in my area. That in itself should tell you how awesome this app is; I got it before it even had my area available! Feeds come in very clearly for the most part, however sometimes it is a LITTLE hard to hear, and several of the stations do have police fire and other emergency services all on at once talking over each other which can be a pain. BUT...talk about your customer service! They answered my very long email within days and were not only cordial and polite, but they addressed each of the concerns listed above and what they planned to do about them! Best scanner app out there. Period!

Just installed and tested Police Scanner on my ipod-touch (using Wi-Fi), and i am very impressed with the results of this application.
Something that hasn't been mentioned in the reviews are the amount of different channels you can monitor, I lost count at 600 channels and there were still more left in the list.
The one thing that i would like to see if there are any future updates to this product is an, "In-App volume control".

I have found this to be a fantastic app and cannot believe people giving it 1 star reviews on the basis that they cannot listen to uk cops. So what if you cant I'm from uk and i dont want to listen to that crap. This app picks up lots of US poilce and fire services and even amstardam police as well add this too some canadianstations and a few air traffic control sites and you will see that it is a very interesting applicaton. If this type of thing interests you then this is a must buy it'll keep you entertained for hours

This app can consume hours! Especially if you look up police codes online so that you can understand what's going on. It does only work for us frequencies but there are so many to choose from there's always something to listen to. I swear the programmers have added more locations since last week, too. All in all I love this app, and I'm very hard to please. One thing I'd perhaps like to see in future are lists of police/fire codes in all areas that you can search and browse whilst you listen.

PLEASE NOTE THIS DOESNT COVER THE UK. It is impossible to listen to UK emergency services, they are all encrypted. This doesn't detract from this app, it's brilliant, who wants to listen to some UK bobby stopping some hoodies or issuing a speeding fine? The US is where the action is, for better or worse, this app will let you listen to lots of gun crime, murders, other interesting stuff that we hope doesn't come to the UK but can listen at a safe distance while these brave men and women pub there lives on the line. So remember not the UK but still more than interesting and worth just over a quid!

4 Stars for now until I can set the EXACT zip code myself in settings because the app seems to be off by a few miles?? Once in a while it finds my zip code but more often it is off and when I set to my zip in settings and hit "GO" it does not change? As far as anyone who does not find the stream to their particular town or city do what I did and look up if your city streams before buying the app and then if not there send the stream details to app owners and they will add it to the data base , They did for mine and they reply very quickly which I find is a big plus as many app owners just ignore suggestions and or please for help. I think this app will only get better just give it some time. JUST CAME BACK TO GIVE THE 5TH STAR!! LOVE THE LAST UPDATE, LOOKS FABULOUS JUST LIKE MY PRO 106 ( Not really but looks great ) keep up the good work just add smaller towns next to large cities whenever you can? That will be a big plus compared to your competition which is already a lot cheaper than your app so go them one better !

Love this app! Well worth $2.99. It does have police bands as well as fire. I listen to the LAPD a lot. If the agency doesn't stream online the developer can't link it in so don't blame them. Many police agencies don't want their business on the net for the world to hear for many reasons. Great app though. Only wish there was a way to listen to the stream and do other things on my iPhone at the same time. Love it!!

I have been blown away by this application, it is well worth the $2.99. I would of bought this application for $10, it has a TON of cities, a lot of my local ones. They continuelly add new ones as they find them, so something I advise of is if the city you want to listen into is not on their list, check the list every now and then to see if they have added it. Otherwise it is an amazing app, I'm recommending it to my police training buddies. Thanks!
