Description:
The Walker is based on motion studies conducted by the BioMotion Laboratory of Canada’s Queen's University: A moving figure made up of only 15 points – of the body’s central joints – is enough to provide the brain with complex biological and psychological information. The physique, gender and mental state of the walker can immediately be recognised. If you were to change the pairs of opposites with the slide control, the effect is remarkable! With the finger you can turn the Walker. Visit the Walker at the Otto Bock Science Center for Medical Technology.

Interesting... By: Hareesun - 12-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 This is actually one of the more interesting apps out there, with some very decent animation effects, and not a single drop in framerate. I take a great interest in human behaviour and wrote almost a book on it for a college paper. It's like a visual reference when people-watching.
I also found a way to make it into a game kinda. You need two people, and you take it in turns to adjust the controls and change how the person feels. You can play with the wireframe on to make it easier. The other has to guess how the figure feels. You get one guess. It's a little fun & teaches the bassics of visual emotion. :)
Great idea, great implementation By: ddrichman - Jun 22, 2009 Version: 1.0 I loved the idea when I first saw it in a museum (can't remember which one, though). Thanks for bringing Walker to the iPhone/iPod touch!
Very cool By: Jdk690 - Jun 5, 2009 Version: 1.0 A great moving visual illusion and illustration of the extent to which the mind *interprets* rather than passively receives sensory data.
Really cool By: Gooman130 - Jun 5, 2009 Version: 1.0 Its cool how only 15 points can make such a realistic walking man and you can easily tell its mode
Very intresting By: bobo bear - 04-Sep-2009 Version: 1.0 Bur could make it better by making an option for outing a wireframe over the dots :)
Illustrative By: Etherproof - 23-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 It's quite interesting to see how a number of dots, moving on a two-dimensional plane, turn into a human with varying attributes. It tells us a lot about the functioning of our perceptual and cognitive processes.
Soothing By: SweetAsSugarForever - 17-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 The endless motion of the person walking along is incredibly soothing to watch. This is one of my favourite apps, just about.

Interestingly strange By: Kaze4159 - 04-Aug-2009 Version: 1.0 Its strange how our brain can make these images just by changing the smallest things
Cool stuff By: Sscovil - 17-Jun-2009 Version: 1.0 It is neat to see the differences between the way different people walk
Neat By: Bharat.mk(brat) - 19-Jul-2009 Version: 1.0 Cool app. Can keep looking at it endlessly.
Cool! By: xhoi_2h3 - 16-Jun-2009 Version: 1.0 Fun. A bit pointless but when was that ever a good reason not to develop an iPhone app? Interesting too, it's a great way of sharing academic research with the general public - well done!
Fascinating By: Fluffy_rab - 12-Jun-2009 Version: 1.0 Interesting to see how the body reacts under different emotions. Fascinating to see how effectively you can differentiate the different walker types.
walker By: manawydan - 11-Oct-2009 Version: 1.0 Pointless but vey cute! make the walker reflect your own mood or make him walk like people you know - then challenge your friends to guess who it is.
Interesting... By: Tink(GB) - 05-Jun-2009 Version: 1.0 Interesting application, pointless but interesting.
Stupid By: goddess_of_night - Oct 14, 2009 Version: 1.0 Dont get it. Stupid!
