Description:
* * * As seen in Fitness magazine! * * * Woman Calendar is a lifestyle calendar for women and men. It is a powerful tool for those who try to conceive, avoid pregnancy, schedule special occasions, or make plans around fertility cycles. It can also be used to track menstrual periods to monitor a woman’s physical conditions and schedule activities accordingly. * Keep a log of biological data such as menstrual periods, basal body temperature, ovulation, and weight; record physical conditions such as cramps, PMS, and sexual activities; and design and track your very own data * Plot your daily basal body temperature chart and weight chart over a menstrual cycle or over a month * Use the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) method to forecast fertility cycles * Easily navigate through, organize, preview, and edit your records in a calendar interface * Export saved data from a selected range of dates in CSV (spreadsheet format) via email, to backup data, work with other desktop and online applications, or print out a hard copy for your next doctor’s appointment * Password protection to keep your personal records safe * Write down your daily thoughts, and share your journals via email * Backup and restore data via any web browser on your PC - Calendar view: use the calendar to create, edit, organize, navigate through, and preview your historic records. A mark on a specific date indicates the type of records saved for that date. It also tells which day you are in your cycle. - Cycles view: lists historic data on menstrual periods and two upcoming periods estimated based on your input - BBT Chart view: shows your BBT chart with cervical fluid and ovulation day over a menstrual cycle - Forecast view: illustrates your fertility cycles in the future. Forecast is based on average cycle length and luteal phase length. Both of the factors can be overridden with your own preference in the settings. - Charts view: plots weight and temperature data over a month - Lists view: provides another user-friendly way to review the data by category - Preferences view: allows you to manually override the parameters used in the forecast function, ignore longer cycles, customize your own data tracking, and set other preferences Alternative backup/restore option: - Use any web browser to backup/restore Woman Calendar's data on/from your PC through HTTP protocol (requires Wi-fi network connection) - Backup file can be transferred to other iPhone devices Woman Calendar makes forecasts on fertility cycles based on the Fertility Awareness Method (FAM). Please take some time to learn FAM in order to use all the features provided by Woman Calendar. You can find related materials on FAM on the Internet. For more accurate results, please mark the beginning dates (checkbox) of your menstrual periods in the Woman Calendar app every month. Most forecast features need these records to calculate. Note that: * Fertility Awareness Method (FAM) is NOT 100% accurate * Please consult a doctor before using the Fertility Awareness Method Please write a review. We would like to hear your thoughts and feedback! Please email us your bug report and suggestions too.

Reviews:
One thing I ask for By: geminity - Sep 5, 2009 Version: 1.6.1 Update2:
Can you please make the weight chart viewable over many months? For example, I want to see my weight changing from Jan to Sep.
Update: thanks for updating the chart for longer cycles! I changed my rating to 5 stars. One thing I noticed since the new update - the ovulation day crosshairs appear one day a little too late, after the temperature spike and not before. The correct way all other online apps do it is mark ovulation the day before a temp spike - something you might want to consider for your next update. Thanks.
------------------
My current cycle is lasting longer than the chart is willing to display (I think the max is 36 days?) Can you please account for this? Thanks.
Previous review:
This app is really great. Please consider adding more options for cervical mucus for greater prediction accuracy: dry, sticky, creamy, watery, eggwhite. The current ones aren't working as well. Thanks!
@@Update@@ Wonderful! By: Wolf's Pack - Aug 1, 2009 Version: 1.6.1 Update## I still love this app! Well worth the money even so many months after. My only request is when you edit the icons that appear on the bottom of the app and you close the program, once you log back in, they are back to the origial order. If this could get fix that would be wonderful!
##original## I have been reading and waiting. I picked this app. It overall has everything I wanted. I love the cycle info average since I'm never regular. I love the password protection. I love all the options for personalizing each day. I agree that the chart feature should have other info besides temp but as it is right now, I love it. Adding anything would just be a welcomed bonus!
For the purpose of FAM (Fertility Awareness Method); superb! By: solbeam - Apr 20, 2009 Version: 1.5.5 Developers please take note that the keyword, "FAM" must be added to your list. For those who practice FAM, as in the scientific method, and not those who just refer to periods as their, "special days" this app is SUPERIOR to all the others on Itunes. For those who have never heard of the word, FAM, but are excited (you should be!), check out the book, "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MPH. It gave me the background that I needed to understand FAM, and more importantly, my body. FAM is experiential learning and if you've ever thought your body a mystery, you will be ridiculously excited to learn it's something you can befriend and love. And if you, like me, are concerned enough about your health to eat whole and organic, and want alternatives to pumping your body full of hormones, chemicals and foreign objects; well this topic is SO worth your study. So pick up a book on the topic. Get friendly with your body. And if you have fun with your tech toys, this is the ultimate application for making graphical sense of your cycle. Sorry if I sound like an ad, I'm not. I'm just SO excited to have discovered FAM and am ready for a revolution in the field of women's body awareness. Have fun!
Great App! By: montauk monster - Mar 22, 2009 Version: 1.5.4 I have tried a bunch of the period calendar apps and this one is so far the nicest looking, easiest to use and most helpful. The other period app that I like is Ovulation by Dynadel. They have one feature which is really nice which I would like to see Woman Calendar adopt. At the bottom of their calendar they used the space for a preview of whichever day is selected. This way you don't have to click on the day and wait for another window to come up before you see what data you entered. I think that would be a better use of space than what is currently there. This is still a 5 star app though! Thanks.
I would give 6 stars if I could By: Lady Biker - Mar 18, 2009 Version: 1.5.4 UPDATE: I added the fifth star for two reasons. 1. The quick response to the date problem. It was fixed in a couple of days. 2. I was able to give my GYN a true account of my issues for the first time EVER thanks to this app. I love this calendar!
UPDATE: I love the new features, thank you for adding the "spotting" option. It's still the best app of its kind. Is it just my phone or has anyone else noticed the calendar is highlighting the previous day?
For weeks, I researched all the female cycle apps to see which one suited my needs. This one was the best by far. I wanted an application where I can track my cycle for inconsintencies and changes. The calendar is colorful and gives you a lot of information at a glance. The notes section gives you an opportunity to log important information. Please add an indicator for "spotting". Spotting is one indicator of possible health issues and adding it would greatly help me and many other women decide what is "normal" and what is not.
Great!!!!! By: mglt - Mar 11, 2009 Version: 1.5.3 3/10/09 Still love this app but have one more "wish" for future updates. Would love a "due date" calculator for for your forcasted ovulation days and/or any days you confirm that you have ovulated, in the even that you conceieve or if you are trying to time conception and birth. 12/11/08 Changed my review from 4 to 5 stars after 1.5 update. LOVE the new features. Great updates and very responsive developer! Keep making this app even better. Worth the $10. Many of my suggestions below were addressed and more... Changed my review from 3 stars to 4 stars after the update that was released on 10/22. My first suggestion below was fully addressed in the latest update. Thanks TCS! My suggestions are related to the temperature feature, which looks like it has had some recent upgrades. 1) The BBT graph is organized by month. Is it possible to have the graphs organized based on your cycle? For example a graph would begin with the first day of your cycle (Day 1, Day 2...Day 28 etc) rather than calendar day 1, calendar day 2... calendar day 31. 2) can the scale of the temperature axis change based on the data that you put it? For example, the scale on the temperature begins at 96 degrees, my temp is never less than 97.4 degrees. I would prefer a scale that begins at 97 so that I can better view the changes in my temp. and 3) is possible to have that temperatures available as a list so that you can easily recall the specific data without having to open up all the daily events to retrieve all your temps. 4) Lastly, is there anyway that you can utilize the landscape mode of the iphone to display graphs; this would allow you to see more details of your cycle (temperature and days the graph will have a smaller scale, which makes changes more obvious).
Best menstrual calendar ever By: addiyy - Feb 24, 2009 Version: 1.5.2 Though I don't need to chart anymore, I still think this app very useful. It's the best period calendar on app store. It has more features and flexibilities than other apps. It tracks almost all info you need to know about your body, and if you think it's not good enough, you can even design your own. The forecast can be customzied too. The presentation is friendly and intuitive. If you are price sensitive, try ff's free menstrual calendar. If you are ok with this price tag, definitely choose this one.
Better than the others! By: ChynnaBlue - Feb 23, 2009 Version: 1.5.2 I've tried 4 of these types of cycle tracking apps and this one is the best I've found. It tracks everything I want to track (Several different standard, PMS symptoms, weight, etc) and has specialized fields for me to enter my own personal concerns to track. (We all have different symptoms, so personalization is important!) Everything I mark puts a different colored icon on the calander view screen, so I can quickly see what's going on. It has markers for light-heavy flow and even a different marker for spotting. I ignrore the FAM part, but everything else is great. I've never run the standard 28 day cycle, but this has text showing "X days since the first day of your last period." It's super easy for me to keep track, predict my own days, and finally be able to answer that question at the doctor's office. Every update adds something new and better. I can't say enough good things about this app!
Wise money spent By: tsabinas - Feb 21, 2009 Version: 1.5.2 Heard this app from a friend and really like it. It has a simple, easy to understand user interface and I can get to know how to use it quickly without studying the manual. It has many features not seen in other apps, for example, temperature and weight chart, customized data tracking, and charting cervical fluid with BBT. The lists are very helpful, it lets you browse your data at a glance and no need to click into each day's data to find out what I wrote down. Moreover, I can print out the data before my next doctor appointment and give accurate information. Great app I've seen for women. A decent weight tracker on App Store costs us 3 bucks. So buying this app is really a very good investment on my health.
Almost perfect! By: Bemmel - Feb 4, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 I absolutely love this app to track my period and ovulation. I have been so impressed with each of the new updates. They always leave me even more happy with my purchase. I really like the new "custom fields" and hope that the next update has each of the custom fields represented by a different color dot on the calendar so that I can differentiate between symptoms without having to guess which custom field I checked (since they are currently all green). Also, I agree with some of the other users that having the ability to put the period forecaster/cycle averaging function temporarily on hold with some sort of special setting for pregnancy would be really helpful. Thanks!

You get what you pay for By: mercercafe - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 I've been really pleased with this app. For years I've used the NFP palm app and I've been looking for months for something that would be an equivelent for my iPod. I don't think the $10 price tag is too high given the amount of crucial info it stores and the ease of use. I also chose this app since it was obvious from previous reviewers that the developers were actually paying attention to the consumers and making improvements and changes as necessary. Thanks for making a great product. Now I can finally get rid of my palm!
Fantastic Replacement for Paper! By: nemontana - Jan 21, 2009 Version: 1.5.1 I've been charting for several months and none of the paper forms I used worked as well this app! The app is password protected, stores all relevant information BBT, weight, & all other attributes you would expect. You can export a range of dates to a .csv and email or import. I love the graphs! I travel a lot...was always self-conscious about carrying the paper around, afraid it might fall out or I would lose it, and it's great to have all this information at my fingertips when at the doctor's office. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Worth the money By: pathwise - Jan 16, 2009 Version: 1.5 I thought I saved money when I bought a cheaper period calendar which claims to offer similar features as $9.99 apps do. It turned out that I was wrong. Within one week I realized the cheaper app had very limited functionalities and couldn't forecast or chart. So in the end, I bought Woman Calendar despite its higher price tag. Now I'm very happy with it, and it's well worth the money. It has a much better interface design and flows very well. Now I wish I hadn't wasted the money on the other one. My only request for the developer is to keep improving it -- there're many valuable suggestions in reviews!
Worth every penny! By: acetone - Dec 30, 2008 Version: 1.5 This was one of the first applications that I ever paid for, and although I thought the price was high, it is totally worth it! I use it to track not only my cycles, but my PMS symptoms and migraines as well, so that I can give my doctor accurate information. It has a simple, easy to understand interface, but has features none of the other apps available have (like a generic name and icon, I don't want everyone playing with my iPod to think I'm trying to get pregnant with an app named Fertility Tracker or something), and can even track and graph your weight loss! It also can handle irregular cycles (some of the other apps I tried think that every day you don't bleed, then bleed again the next day is a new cycle!), because it lets you designate a day as your "first day", rather than just automatically marking first blood.
Awesome!!!! Worth every penny. By: urlamaka - Dec 30, 2008 Version: 1.5 The best software I've come accross for planned pregnancy, used a less 'techy' one (desktop version) for 3 years now and wanted to use something on my iphone to continue 'un-pregnant'. Hey $10 dollars is nothing when it works! Now you do need to understand how these methods work and enter your period and temp data accurately... The software follows your instructions you just need to give it the right ones!
Plus it's password protected!!!
Remember: making love makes babies.
Perfect By: naomi2974 - Dec 12, 2008 Version: 1.5 After update on 12-11-08
This app just gets better and better. The options now are amazing and I can very my calendar by month or cycle, view a weight chart as well, and toggle between my weight and temp chart to see patterns month after month. The UI improvements are significant as well. Showing the cycle day is invaluable. Thanks for the best FAM app available
------------
My earlier review seems to have disappeared--oh well because all of my suggestions and concerns were answered and fixed! This app now exceeds my expectations and it has completely replaced my paper FAM chart.
There's only one more thing I could ask for: we can now email our notes every day, but it would be so awesome to be able to email the whole record (temp, period, weight--anything that is marked on the record). Either that or add a list view (like the cycles page) where you could scroll through the records for previous days. Or at the very least, be able to flick the screen or have a button to advance from one day's record to the next (backward or forward) instead of having to go back to the calendar view each time.
A weight chart would be cool too
Awesome app and company! By: OceanBluebird - Nov 23, 2008 Version: 1.4 This app is great for NFP! And when I had a temp-input problem (same as "sarahintampa") and a request (to add sensation and fluid info), I sent the developers an email and they promptly responded with a solution, told me they would consider my suggestion for a future update, AND made me feel like a valued customer. The program is stellar; I would have happily paid $25 for this. And the tech support is curteous and helpful. Kudos! I will be checking out their other apps ... Thanks Triple Creeks Studio! +++also, to those who haven't purchased this app and are leaving 1 star reviews: very disrepectful to review something you haven't actually tried. this is not a forum to gripe about prices. and "it's not for men"? come on! you are bringing down the overall rating for one of the best apps ever developed. i wish iTunes could do something about these "reviewers"+++ ~alexis
Perfect app for FAM users By: bmcbmbamu - Nov 8, 2008 Version: 1.3 Most of the ovulation apps are simply period trackers or use history to predict the future; highly inaccurate. I have used fertility awareness (FAM) for years, and I wanted an app that used FAM principles. This one is perfect. It charts everything I need it do (temp, fluid, position). It is simple and easy to use, very clear and very intuitive. I hesitated because of the price tag, but I am glad I bought anyways because it is completely worth every penny for a FAM user. Thanks for a great app, Triple Creek Studio!
Great app- 1 request for improvement By: NYCeats - Nov 2, 2008 Version: 1.3 11.1.08
The developers keep making this better! Kudos to them.
They've incorporated a lot of suggestions, so I'm hoping they'll take this one too:
Currently under the 'charts' function, only one chart shows- for temperature, which I'm not tracking these days, so that's not useful to me. What I would like to see is a similar chart for weight tracking. It would be nice to see how my weight fluctuates with my cycle. If they add that, this app will be completely worth the higher price.
This is an expensive app, but I was willing to pay for it partly because of the promise of the developers to continually improve it.
This app is better than chocolate. By: Halfdragon - Oct 25, 2008 Version: 1.3 -- 10/2008 Update A few months ago I suggested some specific features, and poof! they were all added about a month later. 1.3 added some other things I saw other reviews mentioned - the developer has been great about updates. I love this app now. I don't think the price is high for the features and convenience it provides. A cup of flavored coffee in some markets costs $8, and it's gone in a few hours. :-) There are a couple more features I could ask for, like listing the next couple predicted beginning flow days on the Cycles list so they're easy to see without thumbing through the calendar pages, but I feel guilty asking for anything else - I think I paid $20 for FemDays for the Palm ten years ago, this is a steal! Right now it: -Has different color icons on flow days for light, medium, etc -Records daily BBT and has separate graph -Records daily weight -Track i-course with icon on main calendar -Ovulation marker with icon -Cramps and PMS marker with icon -Tender 'girls' and exercise marker (no icon) -Daily journal entry with icon -Track cervical fluid in more ways then you could want :-), graphs it with BBT Forecast tab shows safe/fertile/ovulation days (estimated), and upcoming flow days. -- 08/2008 Original I'd been keeping an old Handspring with FemDays on it to use to keep track of cycles, so glad an iPhone app is finally out that keeps historical info and automatically predicts upcoming months. I entered a few historical months in and it's generally good. I have a few suggestions: 1. Any calendar date that has some sort of info entered gets a "i" icon, even if it's just a flow day, i-course day etc,. This makes it hard to find days that have actual note data. If the day already as the icon for an event, why list the "i" for it? Suggest just displaying the "i" for a data if there is data in the note field. Will also make the calendar less cluttered. 2. Instead of having to manually enter which day of flow it is, change option to light, normal, heavy, or similiar, or just change it to a check box. Entering 1,2, 3, etc for the day doesn't seem to be providing any useful data elsewhere in the app and just takes additional time. 3. Needs an icon for PMS/cramps 4. Bug: Clicking a day to add a new record and then clicking Cancel before saving the record puts the "i" (record) marker on that day anyway, even thought no data is recorded.
