My 7 year old son usually cannot STAND windchimes. They drive him nuts. But he loves this app. Of all the apps I have (many), he chose this repeatedly and begged to play it. He kept saying how beautiful the colors are. My only real suggestion is to allow an option to turn the music off. Of course we could also use volume for that. I also stumbled across it in music. Seems better suited in the lifestyle, entertainment, or health & fitness where other relaxation apps (soothing sounds) are. By the way, I have several of those apps & love them. And I find this one relaxing for both color & sound; even more than the top-rated Koi Pond app.

When I saw the icon I knew this was for me. I love balls. All balls. I just love balls. I'm a avid ball lover. This app is great to watch and play with, yes that's right, play with balls!! To add to my ball gratification I was erroused to learn I could interact and touch the balls and flick them! I love these balls more than my own! It's fun to just randomize and watch these balls. Sometimes it's hectic but usually these balls just create a peaceful music for my ears. Never before have balls pleased my ears. Until now. Thank you so much for giving us your beautiful, fun, energetic, free balls. Now I can always say; Yeah, I'm free ballin'

After being somewhat disappointed with Bloom and Air, this app really shows what can be acheived in generative music on the iPhone. It's simple but offers an amazing amount of customisable settings. It can be played like an experimental musical instrument or toyed with for amusement, it can be completely controlled or left to evolve by itself. The visuals are mesermising, but the app is just as enjoyable to idlely listen. I struggle to understand why the developer would give this away for free, because it's better than every paid generative music app I've found.

Update ... Had it awhile and find it very relaxing ... I need relaxing - ( ya think? ) and so, I thank you for this wonderful and well done distraction. and each to their own .... Cheers--------------------Well... not my cup of (tea) DOOAT that is ... and just downloaded it ( watching American Beauty ) [ FABULOUS ] ... movie. Seriously 60 secs with this app and I would play it till big pharma chokes itself to death ... before I'd drink out of a toilet .... ( i might drink out of a toilet to see that- BPCITD ) I mean really ... THAT SAID ... you made me laugh ... in a good way ( not breaking bad on you ) - for that I thank you ... really I am dead serious. Prior to this I read a review ( FAST - app - have no experience with it - so not reviewing it ) ... I think - that reviewer - talked about giving a stranger the money he spent on the app to buy drugs ... etc etc. That is my favorite ( ya got to read it ) .... I am laughing now thinking about it. Shoot this is free - looks like a mindless time waste-r at worst. That's OK with me. I am about to complete a degree in both mathematics and music and this application is unbelievably creative. I see huge potential for pattern study of seemingly random music generation and the chord structure has only improved with the last update...this is one of my favorite apps. The options allow you to explore so many sounds. Only suggestion is to expand voicing and work with concepts that take the program beyond it's original design and include options for a non-ball structure...look at other creative ways to visually create sound and/or rythm.

Deffenetly worth downloading if you want something to help you relax. This app helps me sleep I just watch it and I'm away in dream land . It's so good that it's free cause then even the most cheapest of b can experiance this amazing app!! The latest updates improve the already great app. I liked the other reviewer's idea of having the tone or pitch change when the ball size is changed. Something else I'd like to see is an on/off option for the shake to clear/change. I think this is already a great app and I can see great potential in it becoming a top notch paid app. Other recommendations for future updates: 3D rendering of each ball with lighting, Pitches or chords assignable, OSC.

Cute, fun for a bit of enjoyment, but I wholeheartedly agree with the reviews about the disonant chords. It doesn't sound to me like it's based on the pentatonic scale, but some of the chords are very jarring. Sounds a bit like someone needs some theory traing. That said, it was well worth what I paid-lol. I think a great update would be to add chords and let the player chose which ones to use to create new (better?) progressions.

I sorta like this app. It does what it's says it will and the windchime noise is pretty; except for when they all smash into each other. Here's where I feel like an idiot: how do you get to the screen so that you can change the gravity???? Other than that flaw, pretty neat. WAIT! I lied....Nevermind; it started working right. I would press the screen twice & nothing would happen but it works now. ;)

This developer just cannot win.

When the developer has the balls set to a chimes sound, some people complain. When the developer sets the balls to a piano sound, the people that liked the chimes complain. I personally have liked each. I think the only way the developer can satisfy the two extremes, the "love it or hate it" customers, is to update it with an option of chimes or piano. But for me, it is fine either way, and I find it beautiful, actually... the balls, I mean. Very easy to just watch with or without the sound.
And ya know, I must add, this is free. There is no ads. The developer of Balls make $0 for his/her time, and therefore does not deserve the extremes of 1 star or 5. If you do not like it, issue the app a 3-star rating. If you like it, give it a 4, and if you love it, give it a 5. But this is free and the developer obviously took time to put this app together, and also noticeably listens to reviews. Which is why the chimes sound was changed to piano. So do not issue this app any less than a 3-star rating.
