Description:
As featured live on stage during the Steve Jobs Keynote Speech at the Apple WWDC 2008, and listed in the iTunes 'Top 10 Music Applications' for 2008. MooCowMusic:Band is a collection of virtual instruments that lets you go beyond just listening to other people's music on your iPhone or iPod Touch, to creating music yourself from scratch. Each instrument has been designed to take advantage of the unique touchscreen of the Phone, with complex chords of up to five notes playable in real-time. The instruments provide visual feedback, so that piano keys and bass guitar strings animate when pressed. All the instruments can be recorded, overdubbed multiple times, and mixed together into a final track, which can be saved for later playback. Band also features the innovative "Twelve Bar Blues" instrument, that enables anyone to play amazing blues backing and guitar solos. We believe you should never buy something unseen, so all our applications have comprehensive video demos on our website (http://moocowmusic.com) From the company that brought you the critically acclaimed Top 10 iPhone applications: Pianist, Guitarist, Bassist and Organist.

Reviews:
Awesome By: J4MI3 - 25-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0 I really like this app, mainly because of the rock kit thing. You can make awesome beats and pretty much replicate every song you've heard no matter how complex because you can add 1 layer at a time. To be honest I don't even use the other instruments. The drums can always put a smile on my face when I make a good rhythm. Also major good point, the sound! It's immense! It's so realistic it's like having a drummer right next to you.
So seriously people, ignore bad reviews and get this app. I wouldn't waste 10 minutes of
My life writing a review if it wasn't worth it.
This is brilliant! By: Bungbear - 05-Aug-2008 Version: 1.0 Well, this is what every serious musician fears, make really awful tunes and get applause at the end! Everyone has to buy this, it is the best six quid you'll spend for a good while, I love the drum kits you can get a decent grove going in a matter of mins, then lay down your bass, whizz your finger round the piano and your off. Make sure you press record though and bung in lots of audience through out just to boost your well deserved appreciation levels! I wish I could work out a way of selecting my potential chart toppers as ringtones on the old eyefone, that would be nirvana indeed. Well done MooCowMusic - what an ace name don't you think? P.S. To answer some of more negative reviews. If you want a Korg M3 or a pro DAW you are not going to get one for £5.99, however, if you want an entertaining diversion or a useful note pad when you think of a tune on the bus then maybe you will with this. At the end of the day it is £5.99, that is a latte and a bun in starbucks, at least Band lasts longer and is far more entertaining.
Excellent Value By: mpeters13 - Jul 19, 2008 Version: 1.0 This application is perfect for musicians (or anyone with a creative mind) who need to pluck out a melody on the go. It also makes a great tool for showing off your iPhone. It's one of the the few iTunes App Store programs that hasn't reset my phone on first launch, either. Don't mind the ballyhoo about the author and his Installer.app program. Developers need to make a living, and personally, this program is the real deal. I choose to support developers who write innovative software, and so should you! You won't be disappointed!
VERY NICE... By: lenchild - Jul 18, 2008 Version: 1.0 I am surprised at how hard people are being on this app! Folks, first off, this is the FIRST and ONLY of it's kind! Sure, you can't do serious mixing and editing on this device, but it's all of $10. Seriously, you spend that for a trip to Starbuck's for two. As far as the actual app itself goes, VERY smart and surprisingly versatile. Smooth, looks great, and is fairly responsive. It's mostly just fun, nothing serious, but it's well made, and I think the creators can (and will) expand on their cash cow (no pun intended). Personally, I think $10 is a fair price point for what it does. Down the line, if they make it more sophisticated, I'm sure it will be much more. Can't wait until they come out with new and cool instruments!
Great app for when your bored! By: Benji411 - 16-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 This app is just really fun. I'm a musician, and its actually quite handy to have a bass guitar, piano and drum kit (all of which you can record and play back later) on hand for when that moment of creation does hit you. The instruments aren't amazing, but its an app for the iphone! What you expect! The bass is VERY playable, I can play "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen on it, and it sounds alright! For £6 you really cannot slate this app. If you are a mucsian yourself, or just want to prat around on a piano or drum kit, get this app.
This is an incredible entertaining, it's not a game By: Petzio - Jul 16, 2008 Version: 1.0 This very good for entertain yourself and friends Especially if you are a music lover 12 bars guitar - very easy to play you rock by touching the screen ,cool! piano - this is cool small version of piano, very fun if you know some notes Rock set - it's like a drum set ,This is so cool ,very fun and create your own druming sound very eay Funky drum - just touch and hold then druming sound will be playing, not variety enough Bassist - cool! but not easy to play ,you need to know how to play bass or guitar to play this So far the best and very fun, $ 9.99 not too bad to pay if you like music
Fantasticly fun By: jasonwd - 14-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 After following the exploits of iBand (have a look on YouTube) I was eagerly awaiting the iPhone App and wasn't disapointed. I am not musically enclined so find the drums and Blues instruments most fun, but have had people who can play the Piano bashing out tunes in short time on the tiny two octave keyboard. I love this app, though my Girlfriend isn't such a fan when I'm not weaing headphones..... ... well done and bring on the electronic version for beeps and blips!
NOT a waste of $ By: dardenlinux - Jul 15, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is an excellent app. I don't know who it was who said the only song you can play is the demo song, but they are sooo wrong. I can play almost anything. I have to say my favorites are the Blues Bar and the piano. You don't even have to know much about music to play the blues! AND it's in your pocket! I think the developers (I am NOT one!) deserve a little payment for making these apps, so I am willing to pay ten bucks. Think about it..... If you go buy a game it's like $20-$50. And you don't get the game in your pocket!
Excellently inventive use of the iPhone By: Pete "Angry Jedi" Davison - 13-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 This has to be one of my favourite uses of the iPhone's features so far. I certainly don't object to paying £6 for an application that is inventive, fun and potentially useful for a musician that wants to try out a few simple ideas on the go. While it's obviously never going to compete with Logic Studio, it's rather a lot cheaper than Logic Studio! Independent developers should be supported with donations or through legitimately purchasing their software - just because you can get it for free elsewhere doesn't mean that you SHOULD.
Perfect App By: Dizman101 - Jul 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is by far the best and most original new application on the App store. The pricing is fair, because if we want more apps from these people, we need to support the developers and $10 is most certainly fair. Back to the app, it is an amazingly fun music app that I'm sure I will enjoy for a long, long time. The addition of saving songs makes it worth the money, and the overall awesomeness makes it a must buy.
Best 10 bucks I have spent in a long time!!! By: kgordee - Jul 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 Wow. After having a blast with just the bass, piano and drums, my friend at work showed me the 12 bar blues thing. That is what really did it for me. On just one screen, you can hold down the drum track with one finger, play the 12 bar blues with another finger and rock out on lead with another finger! I especially love the bended notes. Can't wait to plug into my Fender tube amp and show up at open mic night! By far my favorite app so far!!!
Awesome By: MemaxNotYoumax - 14-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 Personally this is extremely easy to use, except for piano because the keys are too small but other than that great. It puts all instruments in a relatively easy to learn matter, that is still fun. So far I'm loving the appstore except for the occasional application which is expencive. My friend got his iPod hacked but he upgraded yesterday and reported "The appstore is better than the installer ever was!"
Great App! By: SethB93 - Nov 7, 2009 Version: 1.5 At first, I bought this thinking it wasn't that great and wished I hadn't spent my money on it, but after my brother and I were jamming (he was using his guitar, i used the drums on this app plugged into his amp) and he showed me how to use the Twelve Bar Blues, I thought it was an awesome app and well worth the money! The drums are great! Bass is great! Piano is great! Twelve Bar Blues is great! And Audience is great! Overall great app and well worth the money!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
This is a must have for a songwriter By: mahz - Jan 8, 2009 Version: 1.2 Guitarist is cool. Digidrummer is too. Beatmaker is genius. Pianist is good.
This is what you need to really me able to throw an idea down. Quick and easy to use. I just downloaded it and I have all of the other aforementioned apps. This one is hard to put down. Simple and great because all of the basics are there to work with and to hit record and just flow is easy. You get 2 different drum kits, a bass, piano with 2 octaves unlike pianist, and a cool blues guitar layout that I could easily jam 10 minutes on and still have stuff to do. It's is very humbly priced at under 4 dollars. Some apps cost way more and do not have as much ingenuity in the app itself.
I can not wait for updates.
If you like music and think you would be interested in making your own, this will help and is very user friendly.
I say try it out.
Awesome app By: himynameiz231 - Dec 31, 2008 Version: 1.2 Great app. Love to make my own songs with all of the different instuments. I play drums and bass so i love to make songs with just those and the piano. I dont know if anyone else thinks this but, I think that MooCowMusic should port "Drummer" over to iTunes(You know, "Drummer" the drum machine with all of the diff. sounds like pop, rock, jazz, metal, and the one I remember Daft Punk). Put yes if you think "Drummer" should be on iTunes. But, still this is my favorite app on my touch.
This is the most fun Apps to purchase By: FloridaDan - 14-Jul-2008 Version: 1.0 I have nothing to do with playing music, but I gave it a try and it was the best 10$ spent this week, Almost unreal what comes out of my ITouch. My son Patrick has a great set of hands on his drum set...can hardly wait to see him and hook up my Touch to his portable Fender amplifier.....Anxious to see his reaction to this full band The 12 Bar Blues is so much fun Try it it is worth every $ PS: You can blow your ears apart if you do not start with the volume down...its the real stuff Dan Montreal
Great for Music Lovers! By: Alexak75 - Sep 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 I just bought this, and already I have made 2 songs. It does take a little getting used to, but it is money very well spent for big fans of music!
Pros:
-Mini, yet less sophisticated, Garage Band in your pocket.
-Very simple music creation (your first song will be within 10 minuets.
-Great sound quality.
-Cool effects (ex. Audience clapping).
-Save your music for later editing.
-Includes a piano, bass, blues style "guitar", audience sound effects, funky drummer (preset drum beats), and drum pad.
Cons:
-Playback is very choppy when the iPhone/iPod Touch is in sleep mode.
-Cannot erase an individual note or beat if it is not the last note recorded.
-Slightly small piano keys.
-No "real" guitar.
-Cannot record voice.
If you are not a very serious musician, and want something simple yet very elegant for music creation on the go, I deffinately recommend this. $6 very well spent.
NOTE: If you are thinking about getting Band because it is the same price and has Guitarist, Pianist, and more, please note that Band does NOT include a real guitar, only a bass and a "blues guitar". Also the piano keys are smaller due to the two octaves, and they don't have a sustain button.
great job!!!!!! By: trialnterror - Sep 19, 2008 Version: 1.0 When your waiting in line,on break, carpooling or whatever and have a little extra time this app is perfect! a little hint though make it .99 cents and youll be a millionare in no time! I had this on the JB and loved it !!!!! only one problem its hard to find on the app store. I couldnt exactly remember the name of it, there for I could not find it until I remembered the name.(had to do search!) p.s. the people giving it a bad review for crashing update to 2.1 and do a hard reboot (home + sleep for ten seconds) dont give the devolper a bad review for apples bad firmware (2.0)
Best app in the app store By: Dp1363 - Aug 31, 2008 Version: 1.0 This was the first app I ever got. Don't jailbreak, it doesn't have nearly as many features as this one. Deffinetly worth the price. It is very responsive, compared to the other apps like this. It has everything you could possibly use to make an incredible song. I have made over 10 and they are all amazing.
Features include loading and saving songs, complex chords on piano allowing up to 5 buttons to be pressed. Instruments are
Drum set- tap on a drum to hear sound
Funky Drummer- hold down on a drum and hear good rythms
Bassist- play a bass
Grand piano- play around with a keyboard
12 bar blues- Includes everything you could need to play the blues(my favorite)
So don't listen to bad reviews. This app is amazing
Prity cra... By: a s e f t h - 31-Dec-2008 Version: 1.2 ...masing this app is outstanding. It's would be in my list of top ten apps definetley. I just canot falt it there nothing bad about. The best instrement in the list is the 12 bar bluse because it has the highest range of nots. The drum kits are good.
Band Instroments:
Drum kits
Piano/Keybord
Bace gitar
12 bar blues
And the adeance
The adeance is not realy an instroment
more of just an extra to add to
the afect of the recording.
And the sound quality is very good.
And I would say that it was a good price for it. And I know that some people say it's rubish well it's not it is
as have mentiond befor this would definetley go in my top ten app.
