I am a real percussion player in jr. high and love this app. If I could say any problem besides there being no volume control I couldn't really say anything at all. This app really does aoubd like most sets I play on and it's fun to just mess around on most of my friends don't even play drums and still like to play with it on there iPhones or itouches. If you do have a problem with sound it being to loud just go to settings and click music and change the volume control to be as quiet as you won't. This is a must buy if you love to make beats.

In my youth, I was a percussionist for approximately 14 years. If you smartly use this application, then you will appreciate the complexity and accuracy of this fine peice of art. I have 3 young sons that are quickly learning how to play the drum set. It is easy to play rolls by sliding your finger(s) accross Drum Kit. It is real easy to make and build record tracks. If you are rythm challenge - use the metronome. Thank you so very much CrimsonJet, Inc for making Drum Kit!

At first I was satisfied. Not entirely impressed, but satisfied. I felt that 2 dollars was worth it to be able to drum along to Wizard Rock songs and "The Drums" section of Pottercast, and do other nerdy things. The one big problem was that it was a little hard to do any beats faster than a slow waltz. The sound lagged just a bit to your tapping, which made it very difficult to keep up the rhythm.
Fortunately, they recently released a free update that corrects the issue, and I know love this app. For anyone rhythmically inclined, or who has delusions of being rhythmically inclined, I highly recommend this app. It's a great way to add a little interactivity to your music!

I love this app. I play it all the time. I got it right befor I turned10. This app rocks .It is one of my favorite app ever and it sounds better with headphones on. GET THIS APP!!! It is great and is worth money! I would give this game 10,000,000 stars!!!!!!My 3 year brother always plays It and never gives it back to me. If you get this game you will not want your money back. And will never put it down! So get it!!!!!! Best ever!!!!!!!

It DOES work on the iPod Touch and has sound

To those of you complaing that it doesn't have sound on the iPod Touch, try plugging in headphones because the device doesn't have speakers. If you have issues with sound, check out the support site at: http://getsatisfaction.com/tapngo/products/tapngo_drum_kit.
Keep in mind that once you buy an application, you will get updates forever. So that means that in time, this app will be improved, features will be added, new kits, new sounds, faster performance, and you'll get it all for free with updates.

"beat of a different drummer" You really need to relax man, if a 1.99 app is to much of an "extra" than you must really be in a bad place financially. I mean seriously, this app costs 30 cents more than a 20oz coca cola. You have no right to demand anything lol, the fact that you can get this for 1.99 and can be kept busy for more than 5 minutes is pretty awesome. The app is not flawless, however for 2 dollars it is much more than I expected it to be. Unless you can create something better for less you should probably just lay off a bit.
To ACTUALLY review- like I said before it is not flawless but it is very fun, and you can put together some pretty decent stuff with minimal effort. So for 2 dollars I think its definitely worth it, just don't expect to be the next top producer with this app. for 2 dollars though, I have no idea who would expect to be :P

This was one of the first apps I downloaded when I bought my phone a couple months ago. Still one of my favorite apps. The updates have been consistantly very nice! I love the hoo-haw out of drum kit, yo! My suggestions... 1) I'm left handed. I have to flip the phone up-side-down to use this app. A "lefty" mode would rule over the mule. Don't hate, mr. segregate! 2) as already accurately noted, everything is too close together. Perhaps an "everything isn't so close together" is in order. Otherwise, drum kit is second to none.

How about actually turning it into a customisable drum kit?

I think there is great scope for this app. I agree that the kit could be more spread out. What I'd like to see is the ability to choose drum-heads and have different sounding snares and cymbals as well as having specific kits. How about having drum pads (like those used by Kajagoogoo drummer Jez Strode). I'm actually a guitarist and bass player but I love the way how my friend who is a drummer is able to customise his kit with different heads and toms etc. I was wondering if that aspect could be incorporated into the app.

Even though there are plenty of tweaks that could be made...this is still the best drum kit app available. I bought a couple of other drum apps only to always come back to this one. Drums respond well to tapping and sound is great. Some of the negatives are needs better spacing of cymbals and audio control from background system music. The audio sliders are present but they don't really do anything once adjusted. Also, I wish the RIDE had a better cleaner crisp sound for the rock kit, currently it produces to much splash. Overall, very fun app to pass time.

The sounds are good, and it's quite playable, however some parts are too close together - eg the hi-hat and snare. And I keep on hitting the settings button by mistake as well.
I have also tried "Drumset Creator", which can change the position of drum parts, however it has several significant flaws, and I actually prefer to play this one.
Definitely needs to be able to change the position of drums and cymbals to get 5 stars.
