All my songs from my Imeem page are listed and play great. The dipsticks who are comparing Imeem to Pandora don't have their own Imeem page and are strictly using it to listen to random songs.....hello!! Create your own Imeem page then upload your music or browse Imeem and add songs you hear that you like to your own playlist and then listen to music on your own playlist whenever you like using Imeem Mobile.....don't be a pinhead and complain about Apps you know little about. I am sure whenever Apple and Adobe figure out how to add flash to the iPhone without a big footprint and hogging up memory and battery life Imeem Mobile will look just like it does on your desktop with all the glitz and glamour including all the bells & whistles. 

Great radio streaming app that works in Canada

This is a great app. It lets you stream music to your iPhone. You tell the app what artists you like. It then plays a track by one of your favorite artists followed by music it thinks you might like based on your stated interests. You can skip a track if you don't like it. If you like what you hear you can mark it as a favorite (and later build a stream of songs based on it) or buy the track in iTunes.
You can also upload up to 100 of your tracks to imeem's servers and stream them to your iphone which allows you to save storage space on the phone. I found the sound quality lacking and won't use this feature much.
The sound quality of the music imeem selects is fine. The app was able to transition from wifi to 3G and back without stopping.
I was pretty excited to get this app working. I've been frustrated that all the other apps that stream music based on your choices (pandora, last.fm, slacker radio) aren't available in Canada. Imeem works in Canada.
I have a few complaints/suggestions:
1. I can't seem to delete an artist from my favorite list.
2. The player only shows artist and track name, not the album.
3. The signup process is a bit of a hassle. You need to register using an email account. During the setup it asks to send an email to your entire contact list. This is all a bit annoying but it's pretty easy to bypass.
4. Sound quality of the music I uploaded was poor. I only had a problem with the music I uploaded. The tracks it selected for me are of good quality.
5. It's a shame Apple won't allow apps like this to run in the background.
I don't understand why this app is not more popular in Canada. I know I downloaded it months ago and didn't use it for some time because the setup process was a pain. I can assure you it is worth the hassle. This is my new favorite app.

Awesome APP. A suggestion to those of you new to imeem go online and navigate your settings first then slimply " become a fan" of your favorite artists .There is no need to get the paid service unless you want to listen to specific songs exactly when you want ! You can become a "VIP" with three different annual memberships from $9.95 to $99.95 and upload 10,000 songs and 500 videos to have at your fingertips ( or thumbs) This app is similar to pandora but you get tons more options on their non mobile site. ( has different interface for either site! I switch between both depending on my mood! It just takes a little time to navigate and get started but when you do there is a lot of meat left on the bone! Then just sit back and relax!

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that if it's crashing on your iPhone you've probably jailbroken it. Idiots, that's something you gotta accept if you jailbreak. This app works perfectly and does what it says it will without flaws. Works QUICK on EDGE network, which surprised me. Obviously I'd like on-demand playlists, but I understand licensing issues can get in the way of that, so I won't mark you down for it. One thing I would love to see, and nobody has yet done this in a music app, is the ability to use EQ settings within the app. This would undoubtedly be difficult due to the fact that it plays streamed audio, but if it could be done I'd like that. Also, a web-link to the Wikipedia/IMDB pages for each artist/album. Other than those pretty minor gripes, it's a great app! Recommended over Pandora and Last.FM if all you need is quick music that you don't own!

Imeem is one of the few online music sites that I enjoy. While last.fm & pandora are great, fans of hip-hop, r&b, & mixtapes will love imeem more. It has a larger selection of these genres and imeem's iPhone app doesn't disappoint. The recommendations are accurate ( for me), i also found artist stations to be better than those on Pandora & Last.fm based on my listening needs. I just wish I could search for those songs I love to hear or at least view more playlists. Otherwise, this is a solid music app.

I think the best way to describe Imeem is that it's a mix between Last.fm (radio app) & Lala.com (which can store your iTunes music "in the cloud"). What's Good --You can favorite bands &/or songs, listen to them later --Extra storage for your music, images & videos when you run out of space on your iPhone --Can find out what is popular across the country & the imeem universe --Cute icon that the digital generation will never understand (they grew up on CD's) What's Bad --Needs to simplify layout even more (perhaps split it into 2 screens, one for radio & one for storage --No playlists. Needed if it wants to seriously compete in the iMusic realm --Not great at finding similar music according to taste. But then again this is a realm Pandora has conquered. Suggestions --Upload music directly from the iPhone to Imeem --Give us ability to change themes --Social hookup! Share on Twitter, Facebook & Friendfeed (work on the latter first as it can connect with the other two) That's all folks!

this app is fun to use. i like having imeem recommend new music based on the stations i've created from my favorite artists. i also like being able to stream the stuff i've already uploaded to imeem. lets me play more music without filling up my iphone.
wish i could play playlists of the music i've uploaded -- would be cool if everything i've uploaded was available as a single playlist/station. i'm guessing that's next...?

First of all the music content and variety is pretty great, but by pressing the "X" button I hoped to be able to not see that song in the station but yet it's still there. Also if there were to be an upgraded version, please let us call/text while listening to this app. When you reply to a text, you hope to be able to go back and listen to the song you were... But it doesn't do that it starts off on a completely new song. Otherwise good app, try it out. :)

First of all, from what I can see, what IS in the program works well. Apart from not having a "cancel" button on the search screen when the keyboard comes up (which forces you to make a search to access the app's other buttons again), the app seems stable and solid.
However, as a long time Imeem user, what ISN'T in the app is what frustrates me.
One of the most basic things I use Imeem for is to search for any specific song and listen to it.
How simple is that? That's all I want to do!! I don't want to have to sit there and listen to or cycle through all of the other artist's songs just to hear the one song I want!
The unusual thing is that not a single app in the App Store (that I know of) seems to be able to do this. Maybe Apple doesn't allow apps to have this functionality, however, it is still very annoying to see the feature absent from this app.
UPDATE: Slacker Radio (free) has this feature and many more, so it's obviously not a problem with the Apple approval requirements. Maybe Imeem will be adding this capability to this app in the future.

I have only used the music uploader, I tend to stick to pandora when streaming a radio player. But the music upload is cool unfortunately it is limited to 100 songs and the year subscriptions for more are quite pricy. Yet taking off 100 songs from my phone did wonders for it's hard drive. For free imeem is a great deal, doesn't cut out on me like other people had written. I think that to get more than 100 songs should just be a diff app in the appstore with a 1 time charge instead of by the year, (plus I got itunes credit needing a good use)... Get this while it's free!

This is a great app! I prefer it to Pandora cuz the 'Favorites' option ups my chances of hearing a particular song.. The one improvement would be an 'on-demand' playlist!! Thanx for an amazing FREE app!! Keep up the good work! :)
