This app surpassed my expectations considering it only cost's 59p! I particularly wanted an internet radio for the house but with this app there is no need for the extra outlay of another piece of equipment as you can simply plug your iphone into your JBL's etc and you have access to thousands of radio stations from around the world. I wanted radio from Israel and I wasn't dissapointed, all my favorites are there, and if you cant find one your looking for, you can submit it to be added. The streaming seems seamless and I haven't suffered any interuptions, the sound quality is great. A really good buy if your looking for an internet radio app.

At £1.79 this is a must have app. As the iphone does not have a radio built in this app has tons of stations from around the world. As long as you have a fast wi-fi connection there will be minimal audio drop-out if a high bit rate station is used. I like the inclusion of the bit rate displayed by the station. All genres of music are catered for so whatever your taste something of interest can be found. A great app for the money. Well done.

Truly awesome app but to appreciate it at it's magnificent best connect your iPod to the best audio system you have at your disposal and you will be truly amazed if not shocked at just how good this app is! Check it out and enjoy radio far better than fm and probably dab to boot depending of course on a quality broadband service. Never heard radio like this and as a confied hi fi buff I take some pleasing. Best 59 pence I have ever spent. Fabulous

Excellent Radio App

It's got a lot of the main UK stations and any that aren't on the list you can submit to be included as well as add them yourself. I listen to Manx Internet radio at home sometimes so that I can keep up with what's going on where my brother lives. This app didn't have it in the station directory but it only too a few minutes to add it myself. I wish reviewers would stop marking an app down because it doesn't play in the background, not just this app but any of them. It's not the developers fault it doesn't work in the background, it's Apples. It gives a false view of how good an app is when people knock off one two or three stars just because it won't run in the background.

very rarely does spending 59p bring a smile to my face!!. I have been struggling on with FSTREAM ever since i had my iphone as it was the only app that enabled you to add a custom stream. There are probelms with FSTREAM and the developer openly admits that he won't be updating anything as it was only a project to see if he could make it work. I chanced accross this RadioBox .. and wow .. it does NEARLY everything .. the interface is really slick , adding custom streams is nice and easy , even goes to show how much data has been transferred. Now , ok it's NOT these guys fault that you cant run in the background ( and they shouldnt be marked down because of it .. It's an apple restriction) .. but one feature that would be a nice to have ( FSTREAM has it ) whereas you can actually save the streamed content and replay it later on the ipod function. As of right now FSTREAM is binned and will have great pleasure in using this app from here on in.. thanks very much , alot of hard work has gone into this , that much is for certain . P.S i would have paid £5 knowing how slick this app is !!

Amazing app, ignore why people say about some stations not working... A lot of the uk stations are not 24h! So that's why 'it doesn't work' the ap works perfectly on my 3g so don't be put off by muppets who don't actually realise how it works.This program has a huge list of radio stations, even at low streaming rates the sound quality is amazingly good, plus if you are on wifi you can open up the stream rates to unlimited for even better audio, I didn't reacieve and buffeting on over 20 different sttions I tried one they had initially loaded.Huge range of stations, great ui design and functionlity and bargain price! Discovered a load of new artist I'd never heras of before last night and loving it! If you like music get it... Simple.

I dont normally review apps but thoufht this ine worthy of a few minutes of my time. I bought an iDAB a few months ago and was gutted it couldn't pick radio 1 up when in my office, came across this app which not only streams radio 1 in my office but also on the long walk from my car to the office which is through a city centre, iDAB had issues with the high buildings! Best app I've bought, would have happily paid more than the 59p. All we need now is Apple to get their backsides into gear so we can have this run in the background!!

Been looking for somthing like this since I got my 3G. Imppecable reception on wifi, excellent on 3g, walked around town listening to the Wimbledon Final yestarday on 5Live without any drop out at all. Since moving out of London I miss my pirate radio (Drum & Bass, Reggae, Uk G, Funky House, Soul, Funk & Rare Groove to name a few genres)Yet with this I can keep away from the daily rubbish served up by local commercial radio. It has even opened my eyes to a few new musical genres too. Powerful bit of kit. Must have App

Best radio app out there and I mean it :) I live in the UK and most other radio apps only cover the US/Canada but this has UK stations and lots more from other countries like Portugal etc.The radio station I listen to most wasn't on the list, but with the built in browser I got on the radio's website and it picked up live streaming from the site so I can listen to it now :D I'm not sure if all station sites will have live streaming, but if yours does and it's not on the list, then I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up and then just listen to it like you would if the station was on the list in the first place lol. :')This is by far the best 59p I've spent. (Okay, Pocket God comes close, but I use this more than Pocket God! xD)

This is a great app, adds something that should never of been missed out on the iPhone from day one. A must have app if you want to listen to radio on the go.
Don't listen to the people having a right good moan and giving it one star either, most problems can more than likely be sorted be a reinstall of the phone OS. I mean the rest of us aren't giving it 4/5 for no reason!!......Its 59p!!!!!!!

What do people want for the money. Tried a free app today and it goes to show you pay a little you get a bundle. Packed with lots of features but would agree it would be nice if it worked like a pc app playing in the background. Using the house wireless network great connection and easy to use, might even listen to some other radio stations outside GB. For half a loaf, six eggs, a pint of milk, 2 cigs do I need to say more...great value....dsb

I live in a radio 'black spot' and the only radio I have been able to get for the last couple of years has been the seriously naff local commercial station :-(( This app finally means that instead of relying upon the odd podcast for some of my favorite programmes, my PC, or SKY box to 'listen' to any radio signal that didn't sound like it was struggling to be heard over waves crashing on a pebbled beach.
I finally get to listen to Radio 5 Talk, and Radio 2 (Jeremy Vine show), and can now choose from a whole world of other stations that are available thanks to this app. I can only say a big thanks to "Internet Radio Box" and 'eingrad' for this choice app, and would recommend it to any and all potential buyers of those over-priced digital radios (get a docking station and use your iPhone instead <g>).

I connect my iPhone to my cars stereo, so now I can listen to international radio stations whilst driving to work. During the 20 mile drive the 3G signal tends to drop a couple of times but reconnects quickly so is definately usable when out and about. At home it runs pretty much perfectly on WiFi. If your after specific stations, you may or may not get them, you search for one you'd expect it to have and it hasn't. However, if you want general access to lots of different stations worldwide then it works well and def worth 59p, you'll usually find something worth listening too for most countries.

How has this only got an overall rating of 3 star!!! It's def the best radio app!!! Well done developers!! Why are all the stupid losers giving reviews on this app moning about the lack of uk stations?!?who gives a toss about shitty uk sations?!?! I hate f-ing adds on the radio 247! Get real and grow up people! O, and the station club culture is sick!! And all the Indian stations! Look if u want the standard capital, heart stations etc then get the app for them! What's the issue! Use this for the other thousands of sations out there!

Who needs DAB when you have this?

This is a phenomenally good app. It turns your phone into a fully funtioning Internet radio with a slick interface.The choice of pre loaded stations is good, but you can easily add your own using favourites | edit | add stream, a function that not all users have found!Only potential downsides are that it chews through data on hi-quality stations, but that's no problem on wifi, and it canes battery life.Get this & widen your musical boundaries!

I have only just bought this item and so far, i have been very pleased with the performance, it works on both 3G & Wireless networks.(does cut out from time to time) There are TONS of radio stations to choose from in this app, all ranging from countless genre's Its very good for eaither chilling out to.. (yes there are ambiant radio stations too) or discovering new music with :D .
@ 59p this app is a steal (limited time only.) The app will not run in the background, its not that the developers that can't make it happen its only untill Apple grant permission for it.
One thing i will say though, i have upgraded to 3.0 which enables the bluetooth audio capabillity, with this app, if i go outside and lock it, the stereo bluetooth with cut out, although indoors its fine. Most probably due to interference.
If your a fan of music, or would like to just have a fresh take on other genre's, I really do highly recommend this app.^_^

My first app review! I have to say this is an excellent app! The graphics and the layout are top notch.
Easy access to Radio stations across the world and the UK stations include Radio 1,2,3,4 and Five Live and Five Live Extra, which is somethig I really wanted for the sports and could not have on a phone previously.
Reception wise it is excellent with 3G connection and cuts out rarely. However on weaker than 3G reception the signal is stable on the low bit rate channels only -upto about 64K - (wich include Five Live and Extra) but it cuts out on the higher rate channels of upward of 128k. Also as others have pointed out it does not run in the background. To do anything else you have to close the app.
On the whole I am very pleased with the app and for the price you pay it is a very good deal.

Does exactly what I need - now I can listen to radio in the kitchen through my Bose dock. The app is easy to use, and has a good selection of UK radio stations, including Kerrang and XFM (no Absolute, is this because they have their own app?). Haven't tried usingit whilst out and about but I generally listen to my iPod when I'm not in the house as the 3G signal fades as I get close to the office which makes things difficult. Well worth 59p! Oh, and please don't mark it down because it can't play in the background, that's Apple's doing, not the developers.

There are some seriously overpriced radio tuner apps on the app store, but this one is well worth it at $1.19! It looks really slick (better than the screenshots) and it has allowed me to listen to the radio stream I usually tune into via iTunes, while I'm out and about.
Mildly concerned about how much bandwidth listening to the radio will consume, but clearly this is a "user beware" point to make and not in the control of the app developer. For a 48Kbps stream you'll you around 21MB per hour of listening.
