Does exactly what it's advertised to do and was able to find most songs in my collection. The interface is no frills and very easy to navigate, albeit very plain. The lyrics are displayed over the ipod interface should you choose to find it from the "currently playing song", which I think is a very nice touch.
Two things I would like to see to make this program even better:
1. The interface could look much better. The use of plain, large, white, italic arial font with lack of proper capital letters means it looks rather unprofessional, and something someone drew up over a toilet break.
2. A function that would allow the user to search for lyrics directly from ipod, rather than switching to this app.

Great app for those of us who just have to know what they're singing along to!

Has excellent coverage of songs in my library, even less 'mainstream' artists, so far has only failed on smaller local bands & poorly-tagged compilations. When manually searching for lyrics that aren't in their database it has a one-touch option to google-search which is nice, but they need to add this option to the 'Now-playing' search as well.
Clean, simple interface, easy to use & plays nicely with the iPod app, allowing you to seamlessly control most ipod functions from within the app. However it doesn't yet auto-retrieve lyrics when the track changes (requires two touches to update).
Overall, great app. With a couple of minor updates & the (imminent) addition of caching lyrics for offline viewing it would be near-perfect.

As a semi-professional singer I can see this app coming in very handy. I did some test searches and had good results, but the search could use a bit more flexibility.Examples:Looking for "Time After Time", it didn't find anything with "Lauper" as the artist. Come on -- do I really need to know the spelling of Cyndi??With another song, no luck with "aint" in the title, but "ain't" worked.Third test "The Time of My Life" with artist of "Dirty Dancing". No dice. (IMO artist should not be required....)All that aside, there is a very nice fallback in the form of an automatic Google search. Worked great for that third test. :)

Definitely worth the money, has almost every song on my iPod. It's only downfall is it takes a while to update, for example, you won't find Jars by Chevelle on here because it was released only two weeks ago. It surprisingly has some not so mainstream bands' music in its database. However if your looking for a band only you and 10 other people know about, your most likely not gonna find the lyrics in this app.

No more doubts about the lyrics!!!

Lyrics load very fast to the screen if the song is found in the database; otherwise it let's you know that it couldn't find it. When you start it, it gives you 3 choices:Pick from library, Now Playing song, and search by artist, song. The first 2 choices will start your iTunes and play the song you selected or the last song that was playing in the case of the 2nd choice -- very nice touch. In the case of the 3rd choice, if you do a search by artist or artist and song, it will only bring up the lyrics. Even if the song is in your library, it cannot start iTunes and play it, but from the developer's note, that is in the works. Couple of cons, 1. You cannot adjust the volume while the lyric is on the screen, but developers are working on this also; 2. You have to manually initiate the lyric request, when the song changes the lyrics do not, the lyrics for the song you requested remains on the screen -- automaically getting the lyrics would have been a nice feature. Another feature that would have been nice would have been the ability to add the lyrics into your iTunes library, but apparently Apple won't allow it according to the developers. Overall, this is an excellent app and definitely worth the current introductory price. Looking forward to the future enhancements! Good work guys!!!

I don't care what everyone else is saying! This app has pretty much all of the music on my iPod! I think some people don't like this because they have some way different songs! And it has an amazing way to get them! You can choose a now playing song pick from your library or you can just search it!TOTALLY worth $.99!Tip: I think it only works if you have the song name, artist, and mabey album.Try to get that info if you can!

Ok folks, this app is legit. It has found lyrics for every song that I have chosen, even from unknown bands like Racer X. Heck it even found lyrics for this Paul Gilbert song that 95% of the world probably has no idea exists.0.99$ is a great price or this app.4/5 because it crashed on me twice in the hour since I have bought it.***note***For you idiots who complain that it only finds lyrics for "2/10" songs, you probably have your song titles, albums, or artists wrong. The app needs to know exactly what song you want lyrics for in order to get them! Straighten out your iTunes library then write bad reviews for a great app!!!

I LOVE the ability to search songs not in my library--a real plus!Search option rather fast. Only a couple of issues. I have a song that occurs in my library twice on two different albums. It could only find the lyrics from one and not the other. Also, when selecting a song from my library it auto plays the song. I would love to see the ability to toggle that off. Otherwise, FANTASTIC! This app is a MUST HAVE if you play music on your iPhone or iTouch (please note: reviewed on iPhone only)

Simple and effective! ... Would be cooler if the lyrics were synced...

This app does exactly what it says it does, quite well. It is very simple and straightforward to pick a song from your library, and it instantly plays it and displays the lyrics. The "Now Playing" screen is very simple, giving you a scrub bar for time, a volume control, and a pause button. The rest of the screen is dedicated to the lyrics, which display in the same way as in the iPod app. It is simple to scroll through them. The album artwork displays behind the transparent lyrics, which is a nice touch (same as in the iPod app).
Similarly you can easily look up lyrics for a song that is not in your library through a simple search feature. The search does require that you enter the full artist name. That means you have to include the "the" in "The Beatles". I didn't notice the part where searched songs that I do have will start playing, but that's fine.
Overall a simple and well done app, well worth your money if you like having song lyrics easily (not trying to use Safari to find them).
I believe they could easily do work to improve it more, and I'm sure they will in future updates. My only real complaint is the lack of synced lyrics, like in TuneWiki, which would be really awesome! Maybe they will (do you hear me developers?) add this feature later on. Also it would be nice to have a button that takes you all the way back to the main screen instead of constantly clicking the back button.
Great app, but my review stays at four stars until synced lyrics are added.

Very simple, easy to use app. Since a majority of the songs in my library exist on LyricWiki.org already, Lyrics+ had no problem finding my songs while they were playing and/or whether I used the app itself to choose a song. I'm sure I could always add a song or two to the Wiki so I won't have to wait for the song database to be "updated."  With the built-in search feature, you can view lyrics from a different song while your current song + lyrics is playing. Also you can pause and control the current song so you can read and re-read the lyrics with or without music. It is extremely convenient not having to pull up Safari just to sniff for lyrics. Lyrical is still a good free (albeit ad-based) alternative to this app tho I am quite happy to leave Lyrical behind... 

This app finds lyrics that other apps don't. I don't know if it's a "Licensing Issue" or what but this app does a good job.
Having said that, here are a few features that I would LOVE to be included in a future version:
1) "Smart Search" I would like the NOT have to type the name of the artist *perfectly and completely fo the app to find them.
For example, it would not find any matches when I typed Dylan. Obviously the should find ALL trferences which include Dylan so I can select Bob Dylan from a list. I should be able to type "Dire" and not have to spell Straights vs Straits to find the artist.
2) I would love for the app to remember the artists I've seached for in a "Favorites" feature (That I can choose) so I don't have to type the name over again.
3) When I type in "White Wedding" it does provide a long list of songs. COOL. But it will NOT display the lyrics to Billy Idol's version of White Wedding, yet WILL display the lyrics ot the Queen version. It returns the message "Not Found" WHY is that?
4) I would love if the app could launch a song it finds while you're in Search Mode. If it is your library on the iPod, COOL, if NOT then could it launch a 30 chip of the song like in iTunes?
OK, there it is. My WishList.
As a programmer myself I know that these are not trivial efforts to accomplish especially for an app that only costs .99.
But it sure would make a cool app even better and would get my 5th star.

Finally. This app is what I've been waiting for. It would be even better to add a function that could give a little bit of background knowledge of where the lyrics are coming from. Maybe to learn more about the artist. I love music and this app has most of my songs and works great on my 3Gs

Have 92 albums on my pod, spreading across many genres....it found lyrics for more than 80 of them....it jus coudnt find lyrics for obscure metal bands but that's understandable.....gr8 job & brilliant app. Buy 

Fabulous app, one of the most usefull things on my iPhone, with long awayted REVOLUTIONARY for iphone copy/paste I can ad lyrics into iTunes library! ( I dont think apple will ever let it do within app- they feels so special of controling overpriced iphones OVNERS rights to choose what is best for them ) No more "googling" for lyrics, everything is just couple of taps away. Highly recomended !!!

This might be my new favorite app! I just downloaded it-starting playing with it-and WOW! This will play any song on your iPhone or iPod Touch and show you the lyrics while you're listening to the song....nice! That's just one of the nice things about this app.
