Reviews:
Three dollars is a steal for this great app! By: Math pro - Sep 18, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 Let me start by saying that I own both of the top music id programs (Music ID and Midomi). So with that said I'd like to tell you about an experiment I just concluded. Of the Twenty artists I just played the program correctly identified eighteen of them. Now, some of the whiners out there will say "oh it should be 100% right all the time, every time". To that I'd reply, "yeah right" and you expect them to get your order right at McDonald's every time? Get a life. Seriously folks, this program works, it correctly identified some really obscure artists that I'm sure you've never even heard of. Want an example? Have you ever heard of Bela Fleck? Well neither did I until I got into Bluegrass music, but MusicID had no problem providing me with all his info. It also readily identified: Brandi Charlile (who the heck is that?), Jesse Lee Campbell (??? ), Nickel Creek, Matt Redman, Selah, Garth Brooks, Acappella, Jerry Douglas, Aaron Neville, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny G, Steve Wariner, The Chords, Boyz II Men, Yolanda Adams, Kenny Rogers, , Emmylou Harris, Nora Jones, and a personal favorite of mine, Luciano Pavarotti. Notice anything here? These artists are all across the board, Jazz, bluegrass, country, folk, oldies, classics, christian, and classical. So if that doesn't convince you to try a program that cost less than a Big Mac then I guess your just too cheap! Seriously though, you won't be disappointed even if it doesn't find every song you own, but it'll save you a ton of time when you can't even begin to think of what song is playing. Happy listening. :)
If you like music you'll LOVE MusicID!!!! By: Not Sure ^v^ - Sep 4, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 This app is the business! None of the negative reviews make any sense!! Seems like the competition are feeling the heat and not playing fair if you ask me. I used to have both Shazam & Modomi but now I just use MusicID. Here’s why: Shazam works great at ID’ing but it’s very slow, has no text search, bad design and Ads. Singing & humming on Midomi is a joke, the design is messy, it has no search by lyrics and the supposedly lyrics found is a Google search! (lame). Ohh and it has Ads and is almost twice the price of MusicID!! MusicID is the only app that has lyrics search which is awesome! And Popular ID’s from other users. It has the best success rate, the best design and no annoying Ads! If you’ve tried all three like me this is a no brainer, simply a must have!
Best Music App, and they keep adding features! By: Melissa Crystal - Aug 9, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 They listen to all the reviews! I am so excited about what they're doing, this keeps getting better and better.
If you guys read the actual critic reviews on the net, this is by far the best app on the market and has so much potential. The group of people who work on it actually care about the product.
Unfortunately there are a bunch of people from the competition who are spamming 1-star ratings, which is lame. Anyone who knows iPhone apps and knows the technology they're using (and the smooth state of the art graphics and code!!!) know that this program is top notch. Much better than the others. Now they ID more foreign songs too! And so much more...they keep improving the quality. It takes longer to ID some songs now, but not longer than the other apps. Depends on which part of the song is ID'ed I think, and other variables. I've used it so much and I can verify that the other apps are not 'better' at IDing more songs.
Midomi does a google search for lyrics and let's you wade through the slow search, this one is actually *one* click away. And they keep adding more stuff every update, and the updates don't stop because this is a paid app and the team is dedicated to the project. You get what you pay for and everyone can contribute to making it better. Shazam is going stale, quickly and I don't see how they're going to survive unless they focus on smacktalking the other guys... Midomi might try to keep up but have you tried scrolling through their stuff and loading all the pics on each page when you're in a hurry? MusicID is so much faster and easier to use...see for yourself.
I don't know you guys...do your research before you slam the app over something silly. And post your suggestions!!! They do listen and have proven to be very capable of making this the best app a music lover can own.
Buy it, You know you want to By: B3RARD - Oct 24, 2009 Version: 1.1.0 In my opinion this is the best music identification app by far. No ads, identifies music wonderfully, way quicker than shazam and midomi at identifying music, beutiful user interface, search for songs by artist song or lyrics works great, and I love the similar music function. I was a little hesitant seeing as shazam was free and i never had a problem with it, but I am glad I switched. It was well worth it.
If you like music you'll LOVE MusicID!!!! A+++ By: Not Sure 0_0 - Oct 22, 2009 Version: 1.1.0 This app is the business and keeps getting better!!! I wanted to update my review for this awesome update! My favorite new feature lets you listen and control your iPod while reading/singing the lyrics of the song playing! Basically adding the functionality of the Camena app($1) for free only better! It gives you other content like bios, similar songs and you can save it for later. This feature makes it a killer iPod companion giving you a much richer music listening experience. Odd how none of the negative reviews make any sense!? I used to have Shazam, Modomi and Camena but now I just use MusicID. Shazam works great at ID’ing but is very slow, has no text search, bad design and Ads. Singing and humming on Midomi is a joke, the design is messy, it has no search by lyrics and the supposedly lyrics found is a Google search inside the app! (lame). Ohh and it has Ads and is almost twice the price! MusicID has the best success rate, the best design and no annoying Ads! Sorry Shazam, Midomi and Camena, this is a no brainer, simply a must have!
Elegant and Apple-Like By: fonetik - Oct 21, 2009 Version: 1.1.0 Identifies songs just like Shazam but with a much nicer user interface. Pretty and highly usuable throughout the app. Lots more useful features as well — in particular I love being able to see the lyrics for songs, and it can even look up lyrics for a song that I'm playing from the iPod part of my iPhone. I know there are a lot of people who refuse to pay a couple of bucks for an app they are going to install on their several hundred dollar iPhone. If you are one of these people, then go with Shazam. It's a pain to use and ugly but you are a cheapskate and it's free. On the other hand there are also a lot of other people who, like myself, are willing to pay a reasonable price for an app to get something that is easier to use and easier on the eyes—it only makes sense as we pay more for our phones every month merely because the iPhone is more beautiful and works better than other phones. So if you are this group with me, this is the music identification app for you.
Lovely Jubbly!!! (Superb, excellent, great, etc.) By: Mo Beta - Oct 16, 2009 Version: 1.1.0 WOW! What a sweet update this is! - ID & text search features work better than midomi/shazam - iPod integration! (worth $3 for this feature alone!!! I used to use the $1 camena app for this feature but it only gave you lyrics & got removed because it was illegal!) - Lyrics search with previews is awesome! - Design and user experience are top notch - No ads, unlike $5 midomi & free shazam - See all your timestamped IDs on a google map I highly recommend this! Have I ever let you down?

Great App. By: rick4260 - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 You have to try this. It's great. I even tried it on classical music as long as my ears could handle the burning sensation caused by that kind of music, but it worked on that to. Very cool.
