StompVox is a high quality, 44.1kHz, 16bit real time audio effects and looping application designed to look and feel like effects pedals, or 'stomp boxes'.
StompVox combines a Gate, Looper, Reverb, Echo and Mixer for endless creative possibilities.
Although designed with the vocalist in mind, StompVox may be used with any acoustic instrument that can be picked up by the microphone.

For best results on the iPhone, plug in standard headphones to the headphone socket which will automatically use the internal microphone which is superior in quality to the combined headphone/mic lead.

There are five effects pedals:
- Gate
Use the Gate to reduce ambient background noise when not signing or playing your instrument.
Controls: Input, Threshold, Attack, Hold, Release and Bypass
- Looper
Use the Looper to create interesting sonic loops or to practise vocals against another vocal or instrument.
Controls: Seconds, Level, Play, Record, Erase and Bypass
- Reverb
Use the Reverb to enhance your vocal or instrument by simulating the sonic characteristics a room from the small room to a huge cathedral .
Controls: Pre-Delay, Room Size, Damp, Level, Dry/Wet and Bypass
- Echo
Use the Echo to create controllable sonic reflections of your voice or instrument.
Controls: Delay, Feedback, Level and Bypass
- Mixer
Use the Mixer to combine the overall (or Master) level along with the unprocessed Direct level.

This app has come along way, and seems quite stable and polished at this point. The new looping ui is way better, though I can't figure out how to keep it in record mode (so one could keep adding layer upon layer) after the initial loop is recorded. Otherwise it's pretty great for $2 and I'm using it on gigs as a vocal processor.

Great for Guitarists

This may be intended for vocalists but it works great for guitarists. I used my iphone's headset with mic to record a chord progression onto the looper, then practiced improvising over it. The reverb and echo stompboxes made everything sound pro.
It's an amazing app for the price, and the developer is enthusiastic about getting user input and making improvements. Highly recommended!

What is there is great, but it is a little basic. More effects with configurable chains would be fantastic to make this a proper virtual effects unit.

Nice graphics and great sound quality. Good improvements in v1.1 to the looper although would like loop export and maybe some more fx. Worth checking out.

I really like this app, it's great for audiophiles and musicians alike, it loses one star for not having a loud enough output signal, you can really only use this app with headphones. It loses a second star by no fault of it's own, however with such a cool app as this one I would have appreciated a free record option in addition to the looper record.
