TROUBLESHOOTING:
*If you cannot hear sound:
1.) If you are using an iPod Touch 1st Gen, your device does not have an external speaker. You must use headphones to use SurfaceDJ.
2.) Make sure the silence ringer switch (on the side of the iPhone) is not on.
3.) Make sure the volume is turned up. Use the volume switches on the side of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
4.) If all else fails, restarting your iPhone should resolve any system software issues.
*If you receive a message saying that this application is incompatible with your device, please update your device to the latest firmware and try downloading the software again.
*If you are having any other issues with any iPhone software, Vectorform recommends restarting your iPhone or iPod Touch periodically and whenever you install new software.

Excellent idea. Really simple but effective. Will def look at the paid version. Hoping for more controllability, tempo, stereo and spatial. Obviously ability to add own loops would be cool and a save function. This is exactly the reason I have an IPhone. Well done people. Perhaps a "drop in" function rather than low to high volume for cutting to a new loop. I could go on but you get the point, I Love It!!

This app is really cool. The use of multi-touch gestures with music really adds a lot to the music app genre on the iPhone. I love how easy it is to make great sounding music.
The included music loops are also really well done. Each "song" allows for impressive variety that sounds good no matter the combination. However, to make this app a must have, they need to add more songs and loops with the ability to record.

All you have to do is drag the icon you want to play into the circle and the close to the center it is the louder it plays. There's 2 drum, piano or guitar, synth, musical, and high-hat riffs on each "environment" that you can choose from, so the options are a bit limited.
It does support multi-touch, which is essential. So, when a little high-hat riff is playing I can grab my current drum beat and fade it out while putting the new beat in at the same time.
Overall, lots of fun. I hope it gets enough exposure to hit the top 50 because I think it would go to #1 with the small price tag and unique design. I took 1 star off because you can't record, and without that once you're done it's not satisfying to not be able to listen to it again or share it. Plus each environment could use more than 2 of each riff. I would like to see 3 per before an update with just more environments.
