AutoPark turns your iPhone/iPod Touch into an essential driving companion, featuring: parking meter timer alerts w/ push notifications, parked-car finder w/ GPS, parking-lot position reminder, text and image notes, rich email sharing, and nearby local services (banks, bathrooms, gas stations--more coming soon).
If you drive a car then you'll want AutoPark. Use it once and you'll never want to drive without it again.
"AutoPark looks great, works elegantly, and incorporates enough clever extra niceties to deserve a spot of its own—on your iPhone." -- 4.5 out of 5 mice. Macworld review.
"Paid for itself in one day" (5-stars) - User review.
Details:
- Meter Timer: AutoPark keeps track of time remaining on your parking meter so you can get back before you get a ticket. Get early-warning alarms so you can make it back to your car in time. No more wondering how many minutes left. Let your iPhone save you money for a change.
- Car-finder: Place a marker on a map where you parked your car, then easily find your way back with the iPhone's built-in GPS.
- Parking Lots: Forgot where you parked in a big shopping mall or multi-story lot? No problem. With a few taps keep track of parking lot name, slot number, floor, color code, or section. No more wandering around lots carrying heavy bags.
- Keep Notes and Photos: Write a note or use the iPhone's camera to take a picture and remind yourself where you parked. Also handy for remembering what your rental car looks like.
- Pre-paid Machines: Supports both time elapsed (i.e. 60m left) and clock time (i.e. valid until 11:30am) printed on tags from pre-paid ticket machines.
- Nearby Services: Long drive ahead? Get a list of nearby services on a map before you take off. Current release ships with one-tap search for:
- Banks
- Gas Stations
- Public Bathrooms
Many more services coming soon as updates.
- Push Notification Alerts: Get alarms even when running another app or if your phone is buried in your pocket or purse. With sound, vibration, and text alerts there's no way to miss it.
- Email: Send a formatted email message from AutoPark with all your parking data, including embedded map and attached picture. Great when sharing a vehicle or when leaving the car at the airport for a long trip.
- Built-in Help: Comes with full built-in help for every feature. Still have questions and need to get in touch? Send tech support messages directly from inside the app.
- Graphics: Beautiful, efficient 'one-look' user interface helps you quickly see everything you need to know on a single screen. And no feature is more than three taps away. Optimized to be simple and easy-to-use.
- Use with your car or motorcycle, RV, car-share service (e.g. City CarShare or ZipCar), or travel rental.
- Practically pays back for itself the first time you make it back to your car on time and avoid a ticket.
An essential companion for anyone who drives.
---------------------------------------------
Please note: features requiring GPS, phone, or camera will only work on the iPhone. The iPod Touch does not have the necessary hardware. However, iPod Touches can still be used for tracking meter times and parking lot reminders. Maps, email, push notifications, and nearby services will require WiFi access.

Very helpful app  rating of AutoPark

It's the little things in life...I've paid more money than I care to calculate in parking tickets over the past year (now $40 a pop in my town) because I either did not make it back to my car in time, or was so distracted that I forgot to feed the meter altogether! I've also forgotten where I left my car in a parking garage as often as not. I have found the alarm quite reliable (it can be set to 'vibrate' as well), and since I first checked out this app the developers have added some handy new features and options. All in all, AutoPark is a sexy little app that handles one of life's routine realities quite well, and is worth purchasing.

AutoPark is great!!  rating of AutoPark

This is by far one of the most useful applications I've purchased! The application allows you to set a timer on your phone that parallels your parking meter or time in a parking garage. It will send you alerts to notify you when you are getting close to expiring. Saving you just one ticket makes this invaluable! In addition, it has some great application features. It uses the iPhone GPS to find your current location so you know where you parked. It has controls to help you remember the floor, area, and spot number in parking garages (very helpful for airport parking!). It has a Notes section that allows you to either make note of something to help you remember where you parked, or even take a picture of the location. You can also email a copy to a friend if someone needs to meet you at the car.

Solves a major headache elegantly and well  rating of AutoPark

If you live in a big city, keeping track of where you park your car can be a real problem. Similarly, if you park in metered parking, keeping track of how much time is left on the meter is often forgotten during the events of the day. Fortunately, AutoPark excels at solving both problems. Keeping track of a meter is as easy as starting the app, then tap the meter slot and set the time. That's it. It will sound an alarm before the meter expires (actually, multiple, if you want to), so you have time to go back to the meter and move your car or feed it more coins.Keeping track of where your car is parked is as easy as tracking a meter. When you park your car, hit your car button in the app and use GPS to set the marker on the map. Done. On the way back, you can then use GPS to navigate back to your car. If you park in your car park, you can take a picture of the stall you are in or use the interface to quickly store the name of the car park, the level, color of the level and the stall number. I cannot envision going to the City (for us that is San Francisco) without this app any longer. The only thing you need to remember is to use it when you park your car. Can life be any simpler?

Although no app, even iSky Park with it's SMS notifications can guarentee timely alerts, this app has the best UI, and is well thought out. With a single glance you can see your meter and find your spot easily later. The email is really well done as well This is the app to get for metered parking.

Now I am a parking genius with AutoPark. I used to get tickets when I parked at a meter, because I always thought I had more time. Now, I get back in time to feed the meter or move. A money-saver for me from the first day.

Like it alot  rating of AutoPark

Attractive UI and a very useful app for urban street parkers. I'd only ask for some optional alarm sounds. The expired meter sound is a little too "alarming." So an option besides vibrate and nuclear alert would be good. Otherwise, I'm liking it.

I am going to like this app. I do have a suggestion for future versions. Since I use iPod Touch I can not take advantage of some features because I don't have G3 or Wifi. Please allow me to enter my own description of car location.

Needs to fix alarms  rating of AutoPark
By: Agent 003 - Feb 3, 2010

Well-designed app, but it fails to notify when the meter expires. Even app designers recognize this flaw. Yet notification alarms work fine in my other apps, such as Remember the Milk.

No updates since 2009. Still version 1.0! Devs don't to improve app... Let's get going with updates! Listen to your customers!————I use it for a reminder/ countdown when not using it for the parking meter. Love the alerts! Great app. Please continue updates. Add place for txt to record car location. Maybe different skins for different uses. Keep existing skin as primary.

Really Limited  rating of AutoPark
By: RickyMaveety - Feb 23, 2010
Version: 1.0
Too limited to be of much use. Here's an example: I often park at Austin Airport, usually in Lots C or D. Most of the time in Section 15 or higher. Am I able to input something as simple as C15 in this app? No, because the developer of this app decided that no parking lot would ever have more than 10 sections. Right. Well thought out. Then we have the developer's choice of colors. I would think something as basic as plain old red would be an available option. Again, no, your choices are a deep brown/red or orange. No red. Maybe someday they will rethink this a bit, but as it is right now, it's not worth $4.99.

AutoPark 1.0  rating of AutoPark
By: alwaysmprest - Feb 26, 2010
Version: 1.0
AutoPark 1.0 is just not very useful. The graphics are pretty, but when I tried to use to find my parked car, I was unable to get it to give me a map or an address. Good thing I remembered where I parked. I was shopping in a hurry, and wasn't sure I could get a reliable meter alarm out of this app. Good design requires that the basic functions are obvious and easy to use, and more time makes the depth of the app apparent. The map feature is available in other every app of this type, and the access icons are now standard (from the Apple Maps app), and AutoPark doesn't use them. I like to play with design, so I have the max of 176 visible apps on my phone. If each one requires a learning curve of 30 minutes, I won't get any sleep for 3 1/2 days. AutoPark would be a interesting start if it was free, or an amusing bit of fluff if you have 99 cents to throw away. Charging 4.99 for this non-functional app is a brazen cheat.
