MapSure does work. It took them almost exactly 45 days to update the maps, but 4 roads were added. One was done in a week and that one isnt even on google maps. Hey $35, no subsciption plans and works better for me the the garmin in my work truck. I read some of the peoples complants and some are things that can be fixed in settings. The area I use this inseems to have updated maps but I do use it in the area they took screen shot in and the demo from(part of the reason I bought it).I had telenav and that may have set my standards low but this app is what I expect from a gps.

WOW! What a great product. With this update, CoPilot now beats my TomTom. The text to speech works without a flaw. I live in the gold country of California, and a lot of the street names are of early pioneers with unique names. CoPilot pronounces these street names as they are supposed to be. With the clear speech, I have found that I no longer need to look at the map on my phone.
While I have not tried all the other iPhone GPS applications that are available, I have been able to review the four most popular by using friends/family iPhone’s. All four are very good, but with the update for CoPilot, I found the overall use to be very user friendly.
The updated keyboard and memory of your location after a phone call are also welcomed.
Don’t let the low price fool you into thinking this is a second rate application. The downside of this app is as others have said about the maps being out of date. With the new feature of being able to send in updates yourself, the maps are going to be updated every 45 days. This should make the maps the most accurate available.

I don't usually buy apps in excess of $2 so this was a gamble and I won! Worth the price, maps are as accurate as the native Maps (and are stored ON the phone so you don't need to stream). Bout the only downside is that it's over a gig to download but it's worth having the maps basically cached already. Haven't used TomTom or Navigon so I can't compare and looks like I never will try them. Buy it. Its freakin sweet. 

I have wanted copilot GPS for awhile. This is the first version of the program so it needs to have some updates, but for the price it is perfect!! As soon as I had started the app for the first time I had an immediate GPS lock. I use the GPS in my car through the kenwood BT unit, the only problem I see is there is no separate volume control for this programs voices. I am looking forward to getting lane assist and traffic updates. Keep up the good work ALK!!!

I've only used this on three tested routes around town but let me say that I'm extremely impressed, so far! This is an excellent value for what you get. By "What you get", I mean you get everything the other GPS apps offer at literally HALF the price. I also have Navigon, Sygic and X-Road. I like them all but this one is, by far, the best value of all. I don't have the IGO app because I don't know enough about them to shell out $80 when I can get this for $35. They need to think about their pricing. Back to this app: I did a preliminary feature comparison and while there's more I need to check out, I highly recommend just buying the dang thing! The features seem to be endless and there's even a live service which I'll have to check out. The look is really nice and I was very impressed with the menu layout and logic. The signal locked in more quickly than any of the other ones. I don't know why, since it's actually the iPhone that does that. I just know it got signal much faster than the rest. Really! Glad I found this one! I'll update this review after I check out more of the features. No, I'm not a relative or family member. I'm just someone who is hooked on the GPS apps!

I have had this app for about a month and it is awesome!!! I live in Los Angeles and have driven around and the maps have been spot on. The signal has been very good, maybe once or twice when I was driving it lost the signal for like 5 seconds and then locked on again. TTS is clear and loud enough but would recommend using a charger that allows playback through car speakers, I use Belkin tunebase which works beautifully. I have not tried Navigon or Tom Tom apps but I think for the price, you can't go wrong, it has alot of features and is a very capable GPS. ALK if you are listening, this is what I would do to improve this app and blow all the other nav apps away:
1. Ipod integration
2. Free 15 to 30 day trial of live traffic feature, I am debating purchasing for 20 dollars but if I got a trial subscription and it worked great, I would purchase it
3. Or think about live traffic feature as a one time charge instead of yearly fee ( like Navigon)
4. When you reach destination, tell me if its on the right or left side of street
5. Updated maps: For me, maps are excellent but if all these people are complaining than there must be something to it.
Keep up the good work and continue to upgrade frequently!!!

Absolutely fantastic value. I have GPS everything, watch, cyclometer, OEM unit in car, multiple PNDs, golf unit, handheld for hiking as well as Navigon's on the iPhone. This is the best performing of them all. It's shockingly fast. Great GUI, intuitive and nice looking. It's incredible how quickly it finds addresses. With choices (walking, biking, etc.) for use I can toss most of my other units away. Unbeatable price for it's functionality, quickly becoming my most used app. Get it now!

I've been using copilot navigation in San Diego and Los Angeles for almost a month in HARD WAY!! This app is the BEST 4 the PRICE and will put what you paid back in your pucket very soon IF you know how to use it or how to search for the addresses. Don't forget that YOU'RE PURCHASING A NAVIGATION APP, NOT AN EXPEFIDNCED DRIVER THAT KNOWS EVERYWHERE IN TOWN AND YOU STILL NEED TO USE YOUR BRAIN BEHIND THE WHEEL. Good Luck!

Needs the latest map updated the year 2005 and up still not in the map update our street is not yet in the map here in Bakersfield CA.The new update gives an improvement and the gps and the text speech are cool and lots of POIs updated. Lots of menu to choose for best fits the user. Hope the lacking maps will be updated soon. Thank you to all the staff who create Copilot you put all your efforts to be the best navigation in a special low price and free updates. Additional updates must have volume control, the voice is somewhat low in volume and hope that there will be a female voice to and speed limit along the road and voice caution on the speed while driving. Highly revommended.

I find the voice prompts to be a little spotty at times but the tracking is accurate and keeps up well. Also the roads are right on point and the graphics pleasant as well as easy to follow.I'm well pleased and I'm giving it 5 stars because the quality is right up there with those other apps that are twice the price and more.I also feel confident that it will only get better with the future updates that come.

I bought a Garmin a while back that I recently just sold. Thanks to this app, I wasn't ever using the thing anymore. I used to try to use Google maps but it was somewhat cumbersome to use when I was driving alone. I've not gone back since downloading CoPilot.
There have been a couple of bugs here and there, but these guys are really quick with the updates. Moreover, it seems like they actually read the feedback here and get the updates quickly into the next versions. I haven't tried the Tom Tom app but at nearly 3 times the cost, I can't imagine them being better than CoPilot.
I am VERY happy with this product. Thanks!

This GPS sat navi is amazing. When I decided to shop around for GPS software for me and my wife's iPhones I first did what everyone does and look at the navigon and tomtom because of the name and price. Well after review the features offered with copilot beat everything else hands down. The voice and speech (tons of accent and language options  + more)are great, maps are very current (Des Moines, IA) but the huge seller is the live features 19.99 a year gets u traffic, speed/red light cameras, Internet search etc. The gps to see ur friends is great for locating friends while out and about. GPS signal is acquired quickly, menus are easy to navigate, options for specific route preferences are endless, and the option to change the visual color of maps for night and day is a very nice feature. You don't get the name here but trust me this prouct is amazing! There is a reason it's already beating tomtom in ratings!

Very happy with CoPilot Live. It's my first gps app and I can't see a need for anything else. Works very well and is excellent on rerouting on the fly if I try to trick it or alter my trip. It also works well with iPod/iPhone aftermarket car kit (on of those that plugs into the car stereo via the cd changer port.)
Recent updates have made it quicker, added the use of the standard keyboard, and the app's mode when used for walking has had a boost in responsiveness.

Life saver on holiday!

Had to download this in a hotel on holiday to New York State. Absolute life saver! Very impressed with this sat nav and a bargain for £20.99! Would have cost much more in individual maps for each area we were visiting. Worked extremely well with a few minor niggles losing the location on junctions off interstates from time to time or in areas with lots of roads. You just need to look at the instructions for the next turn and ignore change to the route if this happens. The phone was in a cupholder the whole time and not on the windscreen so impressive how well it locked onto the gps signal! The address searches and lookups for restaurants and shops was also very useful with no charges for data roaming! Highly recommended for travelling in north America. Why are the European maps more expensive though? Strange. This version is a bargain!

Bottom line: If you're considering a GPS for your phone then get this App

If you don't have a turn-by-turn GPS this is an awesome value for you if you have an iPhone. If you already have a GPS but have considered getting a app for travel, this will work great for you too.
The price for this is great value and it appears to include free quarterly updates (with no time limits listed as of today). Secondly please note that North America is defined as USA and Canada. FYI, if you don't have an iPhone and you're hoping to get one for the holidays, buy it now!  It should work later just fine (at least all the sale and free apps I bought before I purchased worked fine.
It's awesome! You can use it in spoken turn-by-turn mode with or without the street names, only one voice (Frank) does the full street names, but I don't like that on GPS devices (I get long names like "turn right at next exit Grand River / US-5 / 10 mile road") and that's too long for my attention span so I use Lisa (or John).  In short mode I think it should speak the highway exit numbers though, it actually sounds truncated the way they do it.  I've used it in the Detroit, Michigan area (Wayne/Macomb Counties).
It's really easy to pick addresses from your address book and save as favorites, it did give me a little problem with my home address the way I had it in my address book but not any of my others (I'm not sure why).  If you're typing in an address it'll let you use zip codes which I like but otherwise it's a little awkward the way it wants addresses, but I put in my favorites and it's all set now.  You can also search by business name (such as Detroit Science Center) and it'll add to favorites or even make a call for you. 
It'll also show routing for cars, walking or biking. It'll let you play back your tracks, which would be great for hiking but this has got to eat your battery though.
The interface could be a little bit more iPhone-ish.
My biggest complaint is that while it integrates the iPod player into the application, it doesn't pause the iPod part of the iPhone when it's speaking; but this is listed as one of the next upcoming features.  My second biggest complaint, is that sometimes I don't feel like they followed iPhone interface guidelines and you have to think sometimes when picking out and typing things (mostly in the search areas).
The 2D maps will let you pinch / zoom like many iPhone map programs will.  And it works in landscape or portrait modes.  While I like portrait better, the fonts of turns show up bigger in landscape.
It'll give you live weather for where you are too!  But if you click on the weather it takes you to Accuweathers full web site and not their mobile version :(
It's probably the biggest app I have, it's 1.3 GB, that's a 1/12 of your 16 GB which is taking a bit of space up on my phone  (but at least the phone doesn't weigh more) but I think it's worth it (and I already have a GPS!
