For the best iBART experience, make sure to check out iBART Live. ————— "A thing of beauty" — The Atlantic Monthly "iBART is the best transportation-related iPhone application I've seen" — LA Times ————— iBART is a transit application for the Bay Area Rapid Transit system. It is essential to all BART riders — from the occasional to the daily, the tourist to the commuter. It includes: - A trip planner (no internet required) - Station information - Scheduled arrivals - A handsome multi-touch BART map - Service advisories ————— Feedback is greatly appreciated at support@pandav.us Note: iBART and iBART Live are not funded by or directly affiliated with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). These applications were made by two Bay Area natives who wanted to make BART easier to use for all riders.

Reviews:
Brilliant By: misty_ee - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 This app is really great. The interface is easy to navigate, it's got great features, and...it's free! The trip planner is extremely easy to use and very well done, even including ticket prices & estimated travel time. The stations tab gives great per station info, as well as showing the train lines, and the map image is clean and clear. The service advisories is a nice touch as well! It looks like it caches information for offline use too which is also great as i'm on an iPod. This will definitely see a lot of use from me. Really well done.
Wow! By: jcde7ago - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 I tried out one of the paid BART apps and i have to say that it was a waste of money...iBart has all of the information a BART rider needs, from a trip planner, BART system map, contact and address information for the various BART stations and even advisory notifications...and best of all it's FREE! I was also impressed by the smooth interface, everything seems pretty straightforward and menus are easy to navigate. The only thing i would recommend would be perhaps adding more times when using trip planner, maybe from 5 to 10 options...other than that, this is an invaluable tool for Bay Area (and non-Bay Area!) BART riders, and you can't beat the price! Sure, you could just go to the BART website using Safari, but having an app like this is not only a time-saver but everything is easily readable on the iPhone screen with no need to zoom in/out or type anything out on a webpage. You guys at Pandav rock!
Very useful app By: EZTider - Jul 24, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 iBart saved my bacon recently....I had a flight to Oakland on Southwest but they cancelled it and I had to fly into San Francisco instead. I used iBart to show me how to get from the SFO airport to the Oakland Coliseum stop. It gave me the transfer points and train times, told me how long it would take...I was supposed to meet someone and it was very helpful to have that exact information. Highly recommend.
Great App By: e-Man650 - Jul 7, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I use this app every time I head up to San Francisco from Millbrae and so far I have no problems with it. I will agree with one of the reviewers about the service advisories when the trains fall behind schedule. There should be a pop up alert on this app whenever the service gets disrupted. That way people can find alternative ways to commute to their destinations. By the way iPhone users need to have the Internet connection active to receive live updates or else you won't be able to get them.
Great app! By: The Nikkster - Jun 26, 2009 Version: 1.2 So I'm visiting San Fran for a few weeks and I was constantly traveling from alameda ( where I'm staying ) to all around the city to explore. This was the perfect app for me cause it was so quick to tell me bart times and it even has an arrival time so I can be somewhere at a specific time! I love the fact that it'll find the nearest stations to my current location using the gps cause I'm not familiar with where I'm at constantly, it beats opening the maps app and then safari and then back again. Overall I can't imagine a more helpful app for someone who's new, visiting or even lives in or around the city! Thanks for a simple yet helpful app. :)
Exactly what I needed By: Dion.Matthews - Feb 11, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 I am a native New Yorker, I was visiting my girlfriend in Berkeley a month ago, and downloaded this app as soon as I got to SFO. I used it wherever I went for my entire 2 weeks there and it never failed (it even gave better trip plans than my girlfriend who is from the Bay Area!). It is so simple in design, the trip planner is very detailed, down to the cost and duration. And the best part is that it has the BART map built nto the app, so I could be underground in the train and can see the map without having to be online or anything. I am back in NY, but there is no way I am getting rid of this app, it will come in handy next time I am in the Bay Area.
I use bart more because of this app! By: Superannie - Nov 10, 2008 Version: 1.0.2 I've moved iBart to page one of my 7 app pages and can't say enough about this great app! I love how they've visualized the trips in the trip planner, no more spacing and getting on the wrong train, and transfers are easy-peasy. Knowing how much a journey will cost me before I even get to the bart station is an awesome bonus, as is the "locate closest station" option. I seriously visit my Easy Bay friends more now and give partial credit to this app--so weird, but true. One improvement I'd love to see is the option to select your desired start or end point by choosing directly from the map.
If you ride BART, it's got everything you want. By: kaplanfx - Nov 10, 2008 Version: 1.0.2 I gave this 5 stars as it pretty does exactly what is stated nicely, has a nice interface, some neat features, and the price is right! Locating the closest station using GPS is a very nice touch, alerts are quite a nice feature was well. The trip planner is simple to use and gives you several times for each search and the prices. The map is probably the weakest feature, but I'm not sure anything more could be done with it, it does zoom which is nice.
Great app...useful, easy, and free! By: Andy California - Aug 24, 2008 Version: 1.0 If you live in the Bay Area, ride BART, and have the iPhone, get this application. You can use it to locate the nearest station, plan a trip, review the schedule, get travel advisories, and to see the BART map. To top it off, this application is free. iBART is an awesome example of both how useful the iPhone can be, and the important impact developers can have in how we use the iPhone in the future. Fantastic work!
Very impressed! By: jschwartz - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 As someone who has experimented with other iPhone BART applications, I can say with complete confidence that this application is the best! Without a doubt, the easy-to-use interface makes this application the number one choice, and that's without mentioning the features. The developers nailed the basics, including easy trip planning, an interface impossible to get confused by, and a wonderful zoomable multi-touch map. But what really impressed me were the places where this application goes above and beyond your run-of-the-mill BART iPhone application. The ability to locate the closest BART station with the touch of a button is invaluable for me. The station information pages are another great feature. I am very impressed with this application, and would highly recommend it to frequent BART commuters, occasional riders, or anyone in the Bay Area who owns an iPhone or iPod Touch. Did I mention the zoomable map?

Pretty sweet By: ThisIsTheTruth - May 15, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 I've been using this app for two months. It's super simple and easy to use. It's also accurate -- I've never been mislead by it's displayed times. One simple thing I'd like to see added to the app is the ability to switch stations around with just a click (just like you can switch to/from destinations in Maps) -- it would be a big time saver, and it makes sense, because most people return via the opposite route.
Great App! By: YaK86 - Sep 13, 2008 Version: 1.0.1 This is a very well designed and thought-out application. The trip planner is intuitive and easy to use, and seems to lend its style from the excellent Bloomberg application. The location feature works very well, and within the few tests that I have performed, it locks on almost immediately. The advisory information is also a great additional feature to the app. Overall, iBART is very responsive and doesn't suffer from the performance lag found in many other applications. I would like to suggest some additional features though: 1) Please add a method to quickly access google maps after the location feature has been used. At its current state, once you have found your closest BART station under the trip planner, there is no quick method to get directions to that station without switching to the stations menu, searching for the station, and clicking the address. 2) At this point, the map doesn't seem to have any features besides, well, being a map. It would be nice to be able to select stations using the map, and access the station information from there. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the OS X BART widget, but a method of choosing routes visually would make this application spectacular. 3) Aesthetically speaking, I'm a bit lukewarm towards the icon and the map. The BART train is a bit ugly, although that is exactly how a BART train looks. The poo brown land mass on the map also makes it a bit hard to read the station names. But for the price of this app, I really can't complain too much! :-D Thanks for all your hard work on this Pandav, and thanks for keeping this free!
Nicely Done - One feature request By: bart traveller - Sep 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 I love the app -- has all the info you might need (including trains arriving at a station -- via Stations menu). Two features would put it over the top: 1. A new stations group, perhaps called 'Close to Me' which shows 3 closest BART stations. This will allow the users to: a. select closest station from 'Stations' menu too (in case the user needs directions to closest BART station) b. get a second chance to pick the closest station in 'Trip Planner' menu -- since the blue icon is sometimes hard to hit. 2. A way to reverse 'From' and 'To' in 'Trip Planner' to easily plan a trip back.
Functional and free - awesome By: commuter999 - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 This provides everything you need as a BART rider. With the advisories, you do not need to jump to a RSS reader to get it from BART, everything is in the app. The only thing missing is real time arrival by station.

Amazing By: a film student - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 I ride BART to go to school. It's an amazing form of transportation. Relatively cheap, quick, all you could ask for. This app makes the checking times fast and efficient.
VERY NICE!! By: TriSunnyD - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 Beautifully done! Very useful, fast, and comprehensive. I just got back from San Fran and wish I'd had this app when I was there. I live in Chicago and wish you could do an app for the Chicago Transit... CTA and Metra.
AMAZING!!! Thank you! Thank You! By: gmarenco - Aug 23, 2008 Version: 1.0 If you ride BART, this is exactly what you need! Not only does it offer trip planning, it provides real time arrivals of all trains. I love the intergration of the GPS in order to find the closest station to you. The programmer thought of everything, delivering a great clean app!
