Very nice! By: forumalias - Aug 23, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 Purchased this after a 400 mile trip trying to use the built-in maps application that came with my iPhone 4. It did an outstanding job for the drive home. It updated quickly if I decided to take a quick detour for food or gas and it was very knowledgeable on the speed limits and would change almost each time exactly as I passed the speed limit sign. One of my gripes is that the display is a little blocky almost like it's not designed for the better screen on the iPhone 4. Hopefully this will be resolved in a future update. Another nit-pick I have with this is that it isn't as easy to search for things or enter addresses. You have to start with the state, then enter in the city, then the street, etc. I also wish this had the ability to search Google for something. Like if I want to find a nearby Denny's... found myself hopping into the maps app that came with the phone to find something nearby and then just entering in the address in the Navigon app to get there. All in all a good app and worth the $49.99 I paid for it. I would recommend this app to anyone else looking for a good navigation app for their iPhone device.
Long time Trusted Friend By: Conderium - Aug 21, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I used a stand-alone NAVIGON in Europe for three years, liked it, learned to trust it. Came back to the U. S. and found this for my iPhone 4. I used it to drive from Kentucky to New Hampshire with no problems. I had no issues. Easy to add destinations while on the road (Wal-Mart and Gas Stations). I can't say enough about it. The interface was simple to use and NEVER dropped signal, except through a mountain tunnel. Well worth the $50.00.
Fantastic By: Jo0n - Aug 19, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 Great eye candy for a gps app. The layout and the graphics are wonderful. I also love that the turn by turn directions are done in full sentences. Small thing bit still nice. The rerouting cause of traffic is truly something special as well. All in all the creators of this app do a wonderful job in turning the iPhone in a real gps system. I also don't understand how anyone can give this app 1 star. 1 star should be saved for an app that doesn't even work. Just cause you feels bother app is better, doesn't mean it is a 1 star app. Keep that in mind.
Navigon USA. By: Baca Baca - Aug 18, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I have used GPS Apps on my 3G iPhone since early 2008 but now with my iPhone 4 these apps are as I have my personal experience with starting from my first to the latest. 1- NDrive USA 2*2- Co-Pilot Live w/traffic 3.5*3- TomTom w/Traffic 4*4- Navigon USA w/Traffic 4.5*Now Navigon is by far the best among all of the apps I have used so far and it will get 4.5* from me not five because the TTS voice is not the best and no other choices are available right now but may be later. During the freeway traffic when the car is at 70 mph it's very hard to hear because the wind and road noise dominates the TTS. I hope Navigon add in different voices for choice which may be crisp and louder or better yet if the Bluetooth headset can be integrated for TTS which can overcome this issue. All in all Navigon is the best choice for accurate maps, route options and multiple destinations and the traffic feature is just remarkable, it's routes you to your destination without you having to touch the screen. My use of experience may be different from other users, but I also drive a lot because of the fact living in southern California where the life is mostly spent on the road. I hope my review is useful for those who are planning to buy the best Navigation/SW available at this time, thanks.
Still ahead of all the other GPS apps! By: Modifiedz - Aug 15, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 (iPhone 4)Ive used the TomTom, and Magellan Roadmate app in early 2010 on several new destinations I've never been before. I and others I know agree that Navigon is the best of the 3 main GPS apps. I like the UI, colors, POI search, and the voice & Take Me Home button. The UI is the most professional and appealing to my eyes and preferences. I got all 3 apps via SSH to try them all out. I've decided that I like Navigon the most and have deleted TomTom & Magellan. Now that Navigon is at an affordable price of only $24.99 I've deleted the SSH version 1.6 of Navigon and bought it. With the extra money I saved I went ahead and got the LIVE Traffic for $9.99 and the 3D Panorama for $4.99. $40 total for everything is a great deal. I tried to convince myself to go ahead and get the USA & CAN while it is only $39.99, but I know for a fact its not worth it for me to spend the extra $15 and lose the extra 1-200MB of space. I figure if I ever end up in Canada I can use the Stock Map that came with the phone. It gives great directions, just does not speak to you when a turn is coming up. There is only 26 ratings of the USA only version while there is over 6,000 ratings of the US & CAN version. If you plan on buying it, here's a tip: Purchase it on your PC and connect via USB after it finishes downloading. Earlier today I purchased it on my iPhone 4 at exactly 11:30am and at 1:00pm it was still loading. Once it got halfway on the phone it just stopped. I restarted and respringed, but it would not finish. I cancelled the phone download and let the PC download and install it. It took exactly 9 minutes to download and only 1 minute and 40 seconds to install. So total time 10 minutes and 40 seconds to download and install on the PC vs Hours & Hours letting the phone do it. Voice navigation works great. By: Todd84 - Aug 13, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 This is the only "premium" navigation app I've bought, but I have to say that it works outstandingly well. I only use the voice navigation since I keep my phone hooked up to my car via a cable in the center console. The voice nav works very well and it's easy to enter addresses. I really like it because I can get where I'm going without having to look at the screen. I highly recommend this app, especially while it's on sale for $25.
Solid navigation app for iPod touch! By: Nexvick - Sep 24, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 **Side note: If you own the Magellan car kit and are currently using an iPod touch 4g, you will need a case to increase the thickness for a better fit. The newest iPod is a little too thin for the car kit.**I just got the Magellan premium car kit after months of debating what would be the best navigation solution for the iPod touch. I currently own a 4th gen 32gb iPod touch. After reading all the reviews, I chose Navigon as my navigation app and wasn't disappointed. After using it, I really couldn't understand all the negative reviews. Overall, I had a great experience with it. That being said, There were a couple of areas that I thought could use improvement.1) It would be nice to be able to interact with the POI icons on the map. I found myself wanting to change my route to include a POI during my trip. However, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this. Unless I'm missing something (or even if I am), then that's one point where Navigon missed the mark. It shouldn't be that complicated. Just touch to add checkpoint and reroute. Sounds reasonable to me.2) Almost all of the prompts were on time. However, I noticed that when I intentionally missed a turn in a residential area, Navigon had a tough time rerouting fast enough. This might be a problem with most PND's, though.Aside from that, everything else seemed to work to perfection. Overall, very pleased with my purchase. My only regret is that I didn't jump on this when it was on sale for half price a week and a half ago.
All good except for POI's By: Phoibos - Sep 2, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 This is a very nice app with a good user interface. There are a lot of configuration options, although some take a little longer to find. The text-to-speach engine is not worse than others I've tried. So far, I didn't experience much trouble with GPS signal. The app will frequently say on startup that it doesn't have a signal, but that message has always gone away after a few seconds. (3GS mounted in front of the vents on the center of my dashboard.)I went for the traffic in app purchase. It's a nice add on when the traffic information is correct as the automatic rerouting then works like a charm. Unfortunately, the traffic information is frequently outdated (a problem that all real time trafic info services appear to have) and once you're stuck at the tail of that backup, nothing is going to help you. But the manual avoidance feature appears to work quite well so at least you can get out at the next opportunity...Here's what's really bugging me: The points of interest. They are awful to the point of useless. In fact, they appear to come from the same source that provided the useless POI list to TomTom about 5 years ago. And they don't look like they've been updated since. I'm not even talking about gas stations changing affiliations 4 years ago. At least, there's still a gas station. I'm talking about things like a major shopping mall (Burlington, MA) that has been anchored by a Sears and Macy's for decades yet, if you search for either of these stores, Navigon claims they don't exist?Minor annoyance: When my destination comes up, I'd like to hear whether it's on the right or the left side before I am there, not when the announcement "You have reached your destination" comes. That's too late. (It would also be more helpful if the street side indicated were reliably correct.)In summary: a very decent navigation package that works well on my iPhone 3GS. Useless for identifying POI's - go with Google Maps instead.
Descent!!!! By: Rape the Mic - Sep 1, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I've been testing this app out, and I must say it is pretty good. Although I've had one major issue with it not finding a place that i already knew where it was...LOL Needs to have some kind of re-route warning. You know like, ding, ding, ding hey! your going the wrong way, not just keep talking as if I'm going the right way. Even if it is re-routing me, just warning me first. Instead of having me go through the motions of a U-turn. Other than that great app

Very good By: Betovecin - Aug 30, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I have been using Navigon for well over 2 years now and I can say that this is indeed a very good investment. It some times does take me to some strange routes but I've never had a problem getting to a place. Haha.Pros:very nice graphics, good voice, great iPod control, it's very accurate as far as knowing where you are on the map. Cons:AT&T's coverage: you lose gps reception quite often, specially if driving very long trips. the buttons could be bigger, it takes 1.6 gb of space. Overall, very good app, four stars. :)
Great app... By: iMeliss - Aug 26, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I recently took a 400 mile trip and Navigon USA guided me the whole way. I found the directions so visually clear that I was fine blasting my stereo and drowning out the turn-by-turn directions. This app combined with my $20.00 window mount from Best Buy is brilliant...it helps to be one of the lucky ones to buy while the app was half price. I decided to knock off a star because I'm used to the list view of directions being easy to get to, like with Google Maps - it takes too many clicks to view while driving but really that's only worth half of a star. :)And, I have yet to drive on smaller highways with this app so we'll have to see how it goes in the extremely rural areas.
Ok By: Mineski - Aug 23, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 Bought this earlier. So far, so good. Brought me to my destination. Has freeway lane assist. Contacts and ipod integration works. Voice prompts are clear. Warns me when i overspeed too!!!It would be better if its cheaper and will say which side your destination is at when approaching (so you can find parking!).-------------------------------------------Just found out that it does not accept addresses from contact list with the unit or apt # with it. Hopefully, this could be fixed soon. ü
Good GPS ...not sure why other complaining... By: Pmdinh - Aug 18, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I got this during 50% promotion period. I'm also using Magellan on the same iPhone4. It works very well. Pro: Fairly intuitive, quick re-route calculation, accurate position, Ipod control is ok.Con: I do notice that some of the streets' names are not correct. It is a little bit weird. On the way out of my neighborhood, it shows the correct street name. However, on the returning route, it displays a different name on the same street...not sure why.Suggestion/Feature request: At the turning point where you must make a turn, instead of say "Now turn on blabla", it should just play a quick sound (just like how Magelland does on its application). Sometimes, there are multiple quick turns, and the announcing voice can't keep up with it. IMO, a quick and firm sound at the turning point is enough/efficient.Also, please make an option to disable the destination's information (like parking lot, weather)...a run to an unknown but local store doesn't require these information which consumes the data quota4 stars overall!
Excellent buy for 1/2 $$$ By: p@blito - Aug 16, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 Been watching it and waiting. Now with the 1/2 price sale, got it. Works well but SLOW w/ 3G phone. Really got it for my future phone. Got Traffic and Panorama 3D, too. Displayed POIs are very customizable. TTS voice is pleasant, but distorts when volume is raised to 3/4 or full. Also noticed it cuts out just before the end, so I missed the last part of the direction. Needs a better voice. One that is clear, and has been tested on these small speakers.
Works peefectly By: dskul2112 - Aug 24, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 So far so good. Nice graphics and interface. Seems pretty accurate. Looks a little nicer than my Garmin. Get it! Better than the five bucks a month crap.Arden Notary,Sacramento Ca

Great Nav System!!! By: michele7055 - Aug 21, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I have purchased several navigation apps but none compare to this one. It got me to my distination everytime, has great graphics and clear turn by turn directions with spoken streets. You are able to enter in your address, do google search for points of interest, save favorite locations or one click to your home address. Can't say enough about the app. Keep up the good work!!!
I own TomTom and AT&T Nav: Navigon is Best By: thehotrod - Aug 20, 2010 Version: 1.6.0 I've purchased and tried them all. Navigon has the best ui, most current maps, most features, and all around works the best. FYI, for those that have background audio problems when the app is minimized, turn off audiobook mode in options...use music mode. Now this app rocks. It will be even better when they fix this little bug.
