This does exactly what it says it will do. Finds where you are and uses that area or another of your choosing. Let's you dial the number by just pressing the buisness number. Never had a problem with it and it is free. I do wish for one small change though. As one other person said if you misspell the name then you are screwed. They should have it come up with probable names. But it's free so I can't complain.

I believe the other reviews speak well to the functionality of this app, but I also appreciate the responsive service by the developer. My app suddenly stopped showing the phone numbers of my selections, and I thought the problem was at my end. I emailed the developer for help, whereby in approximately 24 hours they responded that they had indeed detected a problem at their end and had fixed it. Upon checking I confirmed that they had done so. While I was truly glad to have my app back, they actually thanked me for bringing it to their attention. And this is on a free app!! I'll always have confidence in Avantar.

Crashing Update - Fixed

I never write reviews, but in this case I needed to. This new update crashes on start up. I use this app all the time for travel and personal use on my 3G (V3.1 software). Fix it as soon as you can please.
I just added 4 stars to my previous rating. If you only updated your iPhone, delete it, reboot and re-install the app. Don't forget to reboot after the install. Lesson well learned about reading the directions before complaining.

Wow, finally an easy way to look up a Phone number and adress!

Geeeezeee I remember when it was so easy to look up (or) call information to get a phone number, not any more!...This application makes it so easy to get your number, and more than that look up a business by just typing in what you need, ie. type,Mexican Restaurantand it will list all the ones close to where you are, phone number and address. How Great!...BTW...I LOVE...LOVE...My 3G IPhone...it's so cool I want my husband to get one....

The FIX that worked for me

Since I had not synced w/iTunes since I installed the update, this fix worked for me: I deleted the app and rebooted by powering off my iPhone. Then I powered back up and reinstalled the app. Everything works great now and the new enhancements are cool. If you have synced you'll need to connect w/iTunes. Find your iPhone within iTunes and delete the app. Then delete the app within iTunes as well. Disconnect your iPhone and reboot both your computer and your iPhone. Reinstall the app on your phone (it should work now). Then sync-up with iTunes and the problem should be resolved.

This app has helped me find BUSINESSES/ family entertainment during my vacation from PA all the way down to SC, I even had car trouble and this app helped keep my family and I from losing valuable vacation time, found a Honda dealer and was fixed and back on the road within and hour and a half. I also had my 300$ Tom Tom with me and it didn't even list that dealer wich was within five miles of my location..... Huh go figure. Now as for the clown that stated that you can't look up phone book members numbers that's because yellowpages is for Buisness look up! If you need someones phone number that would be the WHITEPAGES.Keep up the GOOD WORK ! You guys ROCK!

It finds you faster it has an extensive preset search list as well as custom search the results that show up are more intuitive and comprehensive and it pulls up more results. This, Munch & Vicinity are all excellent and overlap each other to find anything you might be looking for or even teach you of new places. It is worth buying this versus the free apps. I am not affiliated in any way with these programs. Just helping folks out.

First I must tell you that after all the ApPps that i have installed between my 1st iPhone & my new 3G one; that I have never, EVER written any kind of App Review. This Yellow Pages App is my first app review i've done. To say that I am an "App Store Junkie" would be putting it mildly. I install Apps daily; and in turn I delete Apps regularly. It seems quite a few crash, or they don't live up to the expectations the App Designer instills in us. After all the Apps that I have installed - I cannot let this App & its Designer go without it's much deserved "This App Rocks" 5 ***** Star Review. If there was a way to give it 10 Stars I would. • It's Yellow Pages - which everyone Utalizes. • Its FREE • Very simple & clean design • 100% easy to use • Never crashes • Seamless • Not only meets expectations, but EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS. My icing on the cake was the added option to save a listing directly into my Contacts with only one step & it was FLAWLESS & IMMEDIATE. Love it, Love it, LOVE IT! Thank you so much!!! Teresa

I read all the reviews before me and I downloaded both this one & the YPMobile app....and I tried both to compare for my location....and I have to say that THIS app is far superior to the ypmobile app....this app found my location instantly and was soooo much eaiser to use....this app has far less clicks to find a spot and it also has a built in map to show you the driving directions...which I found so cool....the ypmobile was in my opinion a waste of my time to even of tried it....so I give this app all thumbs up....Thanks Guys..... :)

I noticed some people is trashing this app with out any analysis, so I decided to compare it to the free one. I found this one to have a lot better interface: locates where I am, the free one does not you have to be writing your location. It takes this one only 1 tap to find anything, it takes from 5 to 9 from the free one. The data is good on both, but this one gives more relevant information as the free one gives me some unrelated businesses, perhaps paid ads. Cheap is good, paid is better. Like in peanuts, you get for what you pay.

I have had this App since it first came out, even paid the $1 for it, and it has worked exactly the way the developer advertised. I can type in the name or type of business I am looking for and it will let me call from the list of returned options, show direction from my current location or add the information to my list of contacts. This is a much faster way to update your contact list with all the information of your favorite places. I changed location to where we ski in the winter and entered in all our favorite places to eat in the mountains and it pulled them all up and added them with no problems.
My 60 year old mother added this as her first App to her new iPhone and after a quick walk through on how it works she can navigate it perfectly.
Now that this App is free download and try it for yourself. The bad reviews of this App are really unfounded.

Great Yellow Pages App

I've had this app since I got my iPhone, and I love it. It's earned a spot on my front page because it works as well as the yellow pages app widget on my iMac.
This app returns local yellow pages results based on my current location, unlike the useless free one that gives me nationwide results. Who cares about pizza shops two thousand miles from home?
It is unfortunate that tacky cheapskates gave this superb little app so many negative 'reviews' just because it isn't free. I wish there was a review filter to get rid of all the freetard chatter that clutters this review system.

It works great, layout is good and simple to use and is very responsive and quick even when your location is only edge not 3G. Only one thing I would like to see on an update, after finding what you were looking for it takes you to the google map your phone already has and to do a new search you have to exit that map and re-launch yellow pages there is no return or back button to yellow pages once you complete your search other than that it does what says and best of all is free so not complaiting here.
