I don't usually write reviews, but I just had to do it for this one. I use this EVERY morning during my subway commute to work - beats having to hold out a newspaper and bump elbows with strangers. Unlike the News Canada app, I can access full articles without a connection. The new version is full of images which makes it a pleasure to read compared to other apps like AP Mobile News and NY Times that use default placeholder images. Landscape view works well also. With apps like these, no wonder print media is going out of business...

A great first foray from Canada's premiere news magazine. The app is nicely customizable, allowing you to select just the content you want to see when you load it. A future version would benefit from clearer labelling of articles and blog posts - Macleans' great strength is the personality of it's writers. But all in all this is a solid app -certainly the only Canadian app of its kind - and well worth the download. (For those complaining about only seeing limited content, hit the toolbox logo in the upper-right-hand corner of the splash page to customize.)

Nice little free app, but the only categories I have are 'Editorial' and 'Blogs' while the image shows 'World' (and 'Election 2008' but I understand why this one is no longer there). How can there be no world news?.
Version 2.2 seems more stable but when I updated, the application had to "reactivate" and all the articles that I've already read show up as unread. Worse yet, it doesn't save the read status; every time I re-open the app, all my articles are unread again.
I did enjoy some of the articles though. Good content; please continue to work out the bugs!

This is basically a free subscription to Macleans Magazine! What more do you want? Instead of paying for the magazine itself, get the content for free on your iPhone! I love it, and because it's an application, the content is saved on your device, so you don't have to be connected to read articles. Major battery saver!

Saves paper and provides information, what more do you want?

These guys got it bang on. It's fast, sleek, stylish, practical, usable offline but mostimpressively it represents exactly what everyone asked for. This is just about as perfect as it can get. Oh and the content is quality too.

I've downloaded the new update (Dec.2008) and this app rocks. It's got so much more content, easy to read, and blazing fast data downloads. And then the articles are all available offline too. Nice job, developers.

Wow; they have listened to the feedback and greatly improved Maclean's since its initial release. Now, 10 news categories to choose from to customize my news experience...choose 1,2, 3, or all 10 and set the screen order. Also now contains new articles instead of old ones. Great job!

Latest update has made this app one of the best in the news category. Daily blog posts from Wells and Coyne and the rest of the Maclean's writers... great content straight from the magazine. Awesome!
