Reviews:
Does Not Deserve the Biased Bad Reviews By: afluke - Jan 4, 2009 Version: 1.3.3772 Obviously, you won't be a fan of a media service if it doesn't include content you want to listen to, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an app that does its job exceptionally well and offers an excellent variety of programs. After reading the comments about liberal bias, I went exploring Stitcher's content outside what I normally listen to, and I will say it does seem true that conservative voices are not well represented, but I wouldn't call what I found particularly liberal either, except if you believe the nature of most Public Radio to be liberal (which I don't). If you're looking for conservative talk, look elsewhere, otherwise this is an app that should offer you the opportunity to discover new sources of information and provide a satisfying listening experience.
Needs work (Updated) By: TootingPopularFront - 25-Apr-2009 Version: 2.0.4886 Ok, now the long awaited update has been released this app gets the unreserved 5/5 it deserves!
The ability to pan through podcasts and even automatic resuming after, say, taking a phonecall were the features missed most on the first release.
My most used app on my iPhone, I don't know where I'd be without it.
I feel that the people who rated this app lower than 3/5 failed to see the point or appreciate the potential. If you don't understand something how can you criticise it?
No, you can't listen to live radio so not the best app for music. But, if you are a regular subscriber to any podcast then this app should be top of your list.
DOWNLOAD IT NOW, you won't be disappointed!
------------------------
I will second the comments made earlier, excellent app but desperately requires some bug fixes.
The biggest improvement, in my opinion, would be the ability to scan through a podcast although I don't know if this is possible with the way that the podcast data is downloaded from each server.
The app does bomb out quite often and when it does you are forced to start at the beginning of your podcast again. Also when taking a phonecall, the app doesn't seem to remember my position within a podcast which is a pain.
Although saying that I think the concept, for me, is revolutionary. I no longer have to use iTunes to transfer my podcasts, I can stream them live whilst sitting at my desk at work. Works reasonably well with only GPRS data coverage too!
If the minor bug fixes and enhancements can me added I would happily part with my money for this application. Almost 5 stars, but for now deserves 3 from me.
Great way to get podcasts like a radio By: Derick - 31-Aug-2008 Version: 2.0.4886 You have hear of Pandora, this is like that but for speech (podcasts). I thing this is great, I do not need to download and sync my podcast any more. This app does it for me, giving me radio like feel to the podcasts I listen too. It has a set number of themes and strings (stitchers) the podcasts in each themes to one another like a radio station. I would like to be able to add more podcast in to the channel listings and maybe create some channels/themes myself.
On Top Of It By: Thorough Review - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 1.3.3772 Outstanding App! Can pick favorite snippits and stitch them together in a seamless flow.
I've got NPR, AP, and MSNBC headlines linked together with Tech news & other fun stuff. With a little FM transmitter attachment on my iPhone I start my flow in the car for my morning commute.
Works perfectly over Edge & WiFi (I have original iPhone).
So much to choose from! When you've heard a snippit completely, Stitcher skips it until the source is updated (some hourly, some daily, some weekly). No listening to the same news over and over. Nice touch.
Take some time to choose and order your favorites and you're ready to go with just a couple of clicks. Can't believe all this is free! This one app makes my iPhone Information Central...
An Essential App, But with it's Quirks By: Rev. Nathan - Dec 18, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 Stitcher is exactly as it proclaims: Pandora for podcasts. From Onion News to BBC, it's cuts the dirty work out of subscribing to podcast through iTunes or finding them through Safari. You can choose to listen to feeds you've favorited, or "stitch" continus feeds to keep hearing news and information relevant to your interests. But it have a few shortcomings. An average podcast lenght is 30 minutes; if you want to listen to half now, half later, it means listening to the whole feed from the start. Which is unfortunate if your commute is short like mine. Also, there are bugs here and there, and updates haven't been frequent in solving them. Excusing it's shortcomings, this is a very powerful, very essential app for those who love talk radio, news, or just general podcasting. Even if you are unsure, give this whirl... you're bound to find a favorite!
Have had this app since the early days - can't live without it By: Little Babida - Dec 11, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 So here's my daily schedule with Stitcher: get up in the AM. Turn on Stitcher on my phone, go to Favorites, start playing them. The first one is always the weather report for my locale, then on to Chris Mathews - my favorite political guy, then NYTimes Front Page - great update on news of the day, then Keith Olberman - Countdown. OMG - get to listen to it with no ads while I am getting ready in the AM. Head out the door etc. If doing boring thing in afternoon, such as wrapping gifts or cleaning house, turn Stitcher back on and continue with Countdown if I didn't get to listen to all of it, CNN, Madd Money (I love Kramer), NPR. Then in evening, if so lucky as to be able to relax in bath, turn on Stitcher and listen to "Stitcher Picks" and relax to some cultural talk. Sometimes I treat myself to the Daily Dish....This is a GREAT application. It's basically customized radio without the commercials. LOVE IT!!
Stitcher Radio By: Goose1950 - Dec 10, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 I use this app everyday. While most of the podcasts can easily be found without stitcher, having them all in on nice list with no worries about when I sync'd last. I recently found myself on a trip for a week with wi-fi only at the hotel at night. Stitcher kept me alive. NPR hourly newscasts on the fly followed by CNN and a few others. For the most part, very reliable app. Can't beat the price for the function.
Stitcher By: Pkbradbury - Dec 10, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 Stitcher was one of my first apps for my 3G iPhone and I've used it almost daily ever since. I'm a big fan of NPR, BBC etc and really enjoy listening to news, documentaries etc. Being able to listen to podcasts on Stitcher anywhere is fantastic; At home I often listen at night with the phone docked in an iHome. I have used it successfully in the car on the move (we have pretty good 3G coversge here in Orange County, CA). There is a great range of material to choose from, and the interface is easy to navigate. Overall, one of the greatest Apps for iPhone; get it while it's FREE!
Perfection! By: TimTimBB - Nov 12, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 Though I've only been using this app for about 20 minutes, so far it appears to be a dream come true. It gathers all of my favorite NPR shows, various news sources, random podcasts, etc, and compiles them all in to a shuffled playlist (or I can choose which ones I want to listen to directly). Very easy to use - great navigation functionality. Very well put together. Highly recommended. I plan to use this a ton.
Changed the way I listened to news By: genkala - Oct 26, 2008 Version: 1.2.3379 Definitely a favourite app. Using the favourites gives me a tailor made news/current affairs bulletin on the way to work. Especially useful with the election and financial situation. Things that would further improve it:
- date and time stamp on podcasts
- remember where I was in a podcast (at least for favourites).
- Try to retain place moving from home wifi to 3g
- download/cache/add to podcasts in iTunes option

Awesome Update! By: Sonny Boy Jim - Nov 14, 2009 Version: 2.3.8102 This was a pretty good app before, but now it's really great! I love the ability to share content using email or on facebook (I guess it supports twitter as well, but I haven't tried it). As before it's got a really wide range of content, but now it lets you save episodes (they call it bookmarks). I see some people complaining about old content. I haven't seen any on the app recently. I did a while back and when I contacted them about it (there's a feedback feature right in the app) they straightened it out immediately and updated the content. And also - once you've listened to content, it doesn't play it for you again, which is great for my fantasy football shows that haven't been updated in a while. There are ads, but I guess I'd rather have it be free with some ads than have to pay for it. All in all, I think it's a great app and definitely a keeper for me.

version 2.1 is great. By: mlsnuffles - Jun 18, 2009 Version: 2.1.6346 the 2.1 version makes some great improvements on 2.0. i like that you can now share shows via twitter, gmail, and facebook. the bookmarking feature is also very useful because you can keep track of shows you like without having to add them to your favorites. i now have seven shows as my favorites, and it's as though i have my own personal radio station that only plays shows that i want to hear. stitcher is a great app and i use it every single day to stay informed and to be entertained.
Stitcher Radio By: Rebekah in NYC - Apr 19, 2009 Version: 2.0.4886 This is my favorite app! With Stitcher, i take a walk, see the sights and get current all at the same time. Where else can you get news from all sides --- FoxNews to NPR to New York Times to Wall Street Journal to Rachel Maddow -- all rolled into one?! Stitcher introduced me to the Moth Podcast, Deutchevella and the Get-It-Done Guy, now special highlights of my day. Thank you for making my life better, Stitcher!
WOW By: RogersE - Mar 29, 2009 Version: 2.0.4886 This app is FRKN awesome. I started just listening to a few of my most liked podcasts then added my favorites list. After a week or two I stopped syncing my podcasts via iTunes to my iPhone and saved over a GB of space and stored over 30 podcasts in my favorites list. I am a desk jockey that really needs some entertainment to make it through the day. This app is worth a million times what the developers asking for it. Give it a try. The developer also responded to every email/comment/question I sent. WOW
This is 1 of iPhone's killer apps!!! By: Beesoc - Mar 16, 2009 Version: 2.0.4886 I first used stitcher before the 2.0 release and it was amazing. I loved being able to listen to my favorite podcasts without having to actually download anything or even sync my phone. There where, however, a couple of glaring features that I was missing. ...Then version 2 was released. Wow, just wow! I can now use this application to stream all of my favorite podcasts, with full resume support and the ability to skip around in the running time. I noticed a few days ago that my favorite podcast was missing so I emailed the author, and 3 hours later the podcast was available (Gateworld podcast, FTW). When a friend asks for a list of killer apps for the iPhone, Stitcher is always at the top of my list. Thank you Stitcher for providing us all with an app that, FOR FREE, has better features AND better support than the vast majority of commercially available software. 5 Stars!! -Beesoc
Love it, especially updated! By: I don't have a witty name - Mar 9, 2009 Version: 2.0.4886 I love sampling and listening to podcasts on Stitcher without having to download, and now i don't have to worry about getting a call in the middle of long podcasts, bc I now we have a progress control bar -- yay!!! And thank you!!! Only need to download podcasts to iTunes now to be able to continue listening when doing other stuff. I do this with the podcasts I know I like, and I use Stitcher to listen casually to others (or listen to more recent episodes that I haven't gotten a chance to download yet over wifi). Great app.
Finally! By: Parker14131 - Mar 6, 2009 Version: 2.0.4886 I've never written a review for any apps on the app store but I felt practically obligated after seeing the update notes today.
I think it is absolutely wonderful that they have added a "resume" feature to this app! It quite literally has no flaws any more and I'm really excited about this change.
If you are new to stitcher I highly recommend downloading it and trying it out. The content is updated daily and there is tons to choose from.
**Thank you for the awesome app couldn't ask for anything better!**
I use this one every day! By: Geo-Carl - Feb 27, 2009 Version: 1.3.3772 Since buying my iPhone I've downloaded many apps of all categories. My burgeoning app collection covers the gamut, and some, though useful don't get regular attention. One however stands above the rest, and that's Stitcher. Not a day goes by when I don't turn to stitcher for news, commentary, and many of the programs out there, especially those on NPR. I'm an admitted news junkie, and this is THE go to app for any and all types of news and information. To have these programs available on demand is fantastic. Now I can hear what I want on MY scedule, not someone else's. Great job! In addition the author(s) are very open to suggestions about programs included in the app. The combination adds up to a killer app. You can't afford NOT to have this app at hand when needed, and it's free to boot. I'd pay top price for this one at any of the current app prices out there.
Excellent App! By: pnjwood - Dec 3, 2009 Version: 2.3.8102 This is such an amazing app; I listen to Stitcher literally all day at work. I'm a photo retoucher and it's the perfect thing for keeping my left brain distracted while my right brain focuses on the artwork (so my left brain doesn't drag me off into checking email, surfing the web, etc!) I love that if I zone out and miss something Ican just rewind a bit - I've gotten spoiled now and not being able to do that on my car radio drives me crazy. Often I will have a reallyweird dream and realize the next day that it was based on a Stitcher podcast that clearly my subconscious listened to better than I did!
