I just downloaded the latest update and really like it. Using the volume button is the most useful I've seen. Just hand your iPhone to someone who has never used one, and have them take a picture of you and your girl... It turns some really nice people into absolute idiots. I am using the 3g, and I know that the current lens is a handicap, but there has to be a way to use new software to use this camera to it's fullest. My previous blackberry had a 2.0 camera, and on a overall, took much better pictures than the iPhone (thanks Apple). Just like a previous rating had stated, knock our socks off with superior software to make the best of this cam, and I'll gladly pay $5 for it!P.S. A new icon would be cool also...Great job so far!

Keep crying. It's no wonder they haven't gotten the update approved yet. Look at all the whining. Clearly people come on here just to say it is not working. SO DONT DO IT SOME MORE. Kenditech even says so in their product description and that a patch is on the way. If you know that this App was good or okay at one point, don't give it one star you douche bags because you're too dumb to read the "new" product description.

HEY RETARDS GIVE APPLE A FEW DAYS TO UPDATE WITH NEW SOFTWARE! geez!!!!I absolutely hate it when people don't know how to work an app so they give it a crap rating!!! To all u idiots, play around till u figure it out then review it!!! Taking GREAT pictures. When u zoom the picture will look fuzzy. After taking picture the camera fixs it to a very good quality photo! Excellent job with this app. Hey all u jerks out there THEY MADE AN APP THAT CAN ZOOM A CAMERA THAT ISNT SUPPOSED TO ZOOM! Why are you guys so mad. I swear 90% of app buyers think that $0.99 is a lifetimes worth of savings. Guys 99 cents is nothing I can find that in my couch. I only bought this app so I could write this review, stop getting pissed. The app never said it worked for 3.0. And they are fixing it. Not stealing your money, the update is free so there is no need for them to remove it and loose there top 10 app ranking. Stop being idiot review writers. Good app! 5 stars,

I cannot understand all the negative reviews, this app does exactlly what it says it will and it does it very well.You do need a steady hand but that is true no matter what camera you take a picture with a zoom lens. I just hope the developers update it so it will work with 3.0 iphone update. I was hesitant about getting this app at first because of some of the bad reviews, but decided to try it anyway and i am soooo!! glad i did, love it, have not had 1 problem with it. This app is worth much more then the $.99 they charge for it. Please continue with the good work inspite of some of the bad reviews, some people just don't appreciate a good thing.
This is an update to my previous review, the developers did a great job on their initial release there is no reason to believe the update is not coming, just be patient. This app was the top selling app on iTunes before the 3.0 release and I have no reason to doubt that it will be even better with the update. Great job Developers keep up the good work, really the price should be double what it is.

Great Concept

Took comparison shots... Zoomed in on my subject with this app, then took another shot of the same subject with iPhone's built-in camera...same distance, same lighting. Results: blurriness was about the same when the built-in pic was pinch-zoomed in to match, although there seemed to be slightly more detail in the pic taken by this App. Downfall: the pic taken by this app had a dark golden cast, whereas the built-in pic was bright white. If you can somehow color correct the white balance for this app or provide in-app ability for us to do so before saving, it would be pretty awesome!

TODAYS DATE: 7/23 It took almost 2 months for the much anticipated UPDATE. I'm happy to report that it is MUCH BETTER! Again, im looking forward to more updates. UPDATE: TODAY'S DATE: 6/1 Still waiting for this "UPDATE" Developers: you state that a "major" update is on it's way and that you are awaiting Apples approval.... Well it's been weeks and NOTHING!!! POCKET GOD has gone throught 2-3 updates since your claim. We need a response from you soon cause it's a little ridiculous waiting for this update. I will give a 5 star rating when this happens. Right now I'm going to take a star away for every week that goes by.(2/5 instead of 3) You are not helping yourself. Below is my original review a few weeks back: -------------------------------------- Works fine. Got the app only because the developers were promising a "major" update. I know Apple takes a while to approve, so I am patiently anticipating some great results. If the developers actually fix the blurriness, this App will shoot to the top. Once you get this fixed I will happily give you a 5 star rating!!!

Great app and 3GS does NOT have zoom built in

First off, I NEVER review apps, so this is a first for me. I downloaded this just before I started in the dev program and only got to use it once before I upgraded to 3.0 for testing. A couple months later and it's up and running again. Great quality and well worth the price. Now, to the person claiming Apple waited on approving this update because they wanted to sell more 3GS phones due to it having a built in zoom on the camera....WRONG. It has auto focus, tap-to-focus, and auto light adjustment but there is no zoom on the 3GS camera. Please don't bash when you don't know the facts. Obviously this guy doesn't own a 3GS or he would know. Thank you. Keep supporting these guys and they will keep cranking out the updates and making this product better and better with all the suggestions they are getting. My suggestions: 1) Delete from within the app 2) Landscape mode please. 3) Ability to assign a button to snap photo instead of tapping screen. (This would really come in handy sometimes if it's possible.) 4) Take advantage of the 3GS features. (Maybe by making a version specifically for it?) 5) Continue working on improving overall photo quality. It's great now, but could be better IMHO. Keep up the good work guys!

You people keep giving this app one star because "the picture quality isn't good". Well in case you people didn't know, it's an iPhone. Not an iDigitalCamera. This app works fine for me and hasn't crashed, lost the zoom bar, or lost the camera button, and the icon is fine. Of course the pictures come out pixelly because once again, its not a digital camera, and they only do that if you zoom in as far as it goes, which in most cases isn't needed. I use this app sometimes more than the factory Camera app because in my opinion it's so much better. So there you have it. :) Edit: Version 1.1 is SO much nicer! :)

Zoom is a very missed feature on the built in camera, works well in BRIGHT light, does not work well in low light, for example a rock concert even with floodlights. I just used it at a concert this past weekend hoping to get something since one of the bands had a last minute, "We don't want any camera's fit" I thought that maybe the floodlights would give me a chance for a few shots for the old memory book, but it turned out impossible to get the spotlighted person in focus and if they moved, nothing but a blur. Without the zoom under the spotlights all singers looked like they we just beaming in or out, so it's the 3GS camera too. It's worth having at the price for those daylight shots where you want to frame a person face etc, but don't expect a miracle.

This app has now taken over as my default camera app, why?,
1- It works the same as the default camera app.
2- it has real time zoom function (Badly missing on default camera)
Now the review - As stated the picture when zoomed in is not the clearest in both preview mode and saved mode BUT, if you also have the HDR app then you can get some very clean sharp images . Zoom in, take photo. save, then open up HDR app choose photo taken with Zoom app and clean up the image and there you have it, A very presentable picture. Also just having the freedom of zoom in real time makes this a bargain app and therefore worth 5 stars. Sure the pictures are not the best....yet, but with future updates this can only get better, AND, as yet there isnt another zoom app on the app store. This is a very unique app.

Alright listen up everyone.. I am a photographer by profession. This is the real, true deal with this particular app. This is what is called a 'digital' zoom. Lets say you take a picture of a rabbit from 100 feet away without zooming in... Then you go to crop [just] the little rabbit in the picture. The resulting image has the rabbit blown up. So it's still a 4x6 pic, but instead of all the other stuff filling up the space..now just the rabbit does. Now (depending on your quality of camera and how many megapixels you have) the rabbit most likely looks pretty grainy, and maybe blurry. That is EXACTLY what this app is doing basically.. It basically crops your image right in the iPhone itself. The more you zoom in, the more cropped (and now blown-up) it becomes. So you 'have' to expect the quality of the image to go down quite a bit. But, after saying all that, this is my review of the app itself, doing what this app exactly does. - I had this app when I had the 2mp camera on my iPhone, and (without any of the newer updates: so I don't know if it's changed) thought it was crap. Now I bought the iPhone 3Gs with the 3mp camera, and I think this app is wonderful. I use it all the time. When you go to take the picture, it looks very degraded..but the final pic that gets saved is beautiful and clear, and barely grainy at all.. Take a pic without zooming in, then use your fingers and pinch it to zoom in to the 'final' image. Whatever you zoomed into looks just awful, so blurry and grainy you can barely see it. But for some reason, if you zoomed in using this app before you took the pic, the resulting image is much, much better. If you're like me, and you don't even transfer your images to your pc, you just take them and then email them through your phone or use other photo apps on the phone, then this app for zooming in on things .. is quite priceless .. Unless of course, in the future apple adds what is known as an 'optical zoom'.. But at this time, that is neither here nor there .. So like I said .. When it comes to the iPhone 3Gs [at the very least], this app is worth every single penny..

Finally my iphone camera can zoom! This app is great! at first when I zoomed the picture looked pretty crappy, but then when I took the picture it focused it and looked great! (or at least as good as it can look for a 2Mb picture!) Well done guys! I look forward to additional updates that will make this awesome app even better! I deleted the darkroom app and moved my native iphone camera app to the back. thanks!

The pictures I just took with this App were better than with my 10mm camera and they were action shots. When I first purchased the App it crashed my iPhone. Its the original or 1st generation iPhone so I just assumed the App would not work. When this App was updated I downloaded it again. Now it works great! The objects can be moving, you just set the zoom and touch the screen! First its a blurr, then like magic the picture cleans up! Could not believe the quality and clarity of these pictures! Who would think a .99 cent App could replace a $300.00 camera. Thanks for the GREAT APP.

I bought this app long before the OS 3.0 and it worked fine. It actually was an awesome app that allowed a feature that wasn't included with the camera software that Apple provided. Much like the lack of MMS on the iPhone, this is just another thing that Apple has dropped the ball on. It was not this apps developers fault that this app is not compatible with the new 3.0 update and I'm not condoning the lack of update prior to the 3.0 release but come on guys. They submitted an update over a month ago and it is Apple yet again dropping the ball on getting this app approved for an update. And all you whiners who don't seem to understand that out of 20,000 or so apps available in the app store, there are bound to be problems with updates which again falls on the shoulders of Apple, not the developers of a decent app that was designed to add a feature that should have been included with all our iPhones to begin with. And low and behold? Apple releases the 3Gs which now has it and a faster processor. Just another way for them to rake in the dough. For all you who have bought this app and feel scorned, please be patient. And for those of you who are contemplating buying this app, do so with the knowlege that if you don't have the new 3.0 update, this app will work fine for you. And just for the record, $20,000 means nothing in terms of developement. They also had to give Apple their due, the state their due and the federal government their due as well as pay all those people involved in making it. So do yourselves a huge favor, pull your heads out of where ever you've shoved them and take a breath of fresh air. Do your homework before opening your mouth. And stop complaining about a measly 99 cents. We all waist much more than that daily, that we end up expelling from our bodies in the morning so, grow up. It's so interesting that 13 year olds are given a voice now like they have anything to complain about. Pay taxes little man, then come talk to me. Thanks.

Cette app est très satisfaisante, le prix est bon et les photos de bonne qualité . Pour ceux qui dise que les photo ne sont pas asser bonne avec le zoom c'est normal que sa soit pas comme un zoom d'un appareil photo de 10 MEgaPixel cest une application pour iphone et avec les cellulaire il faut pas s'atendre a du HD mais c'est tout de même très bien surtout que c'est pas un zoom inclus dans l'iPhone.

What part of "an update has been submitted to deal with the 3.0 problems some of you have reported" do you not understand, people? Wait until the app's update is released to comment on this app. You're complaining about it not working and leaving harsh reviews; is YOUR app any better? Do you have any idea how much work goes into making an app? When an entire operating system changes it's hard to anticipate these problems, but what does that matter to a bunch of angry ADD reviewers looking for the next shiny toy to occupy their time.

Being an amateur photographer, I'm used to decent lenses and good cameras. I'm aware of how digital zoom works vs. optical zoom, so I truly was not expecting much with this app. I thought it might be okay for the quick snaps I occasionally shoot with the iPhone, though, so downloaded it. And have been very pleasantly surprised! It's excellent for what it is and does! I imagine this will be the app I open instead of the regular "camera" app whenever I take a pic now. For those few who are "disappointed", pls keep in mind that this NOT a new lens nor a megapixel upgrade. It's simply digital zoom that is then optimized to improve the quality as best it can with the hardware it has. Highly recommended!! By the way, you will ALWAYS have noise in low light when the ISO is bumped up unless you have a very fast lens -- which the iphone's is not. Nice job dev!!

I've been loading apps since the iPhone came out and have never been compelled to write a review until now. I LOVE this program. There is no software on earth that's going to overcome the shortcomings of the camera hardware, but in my opinion the user control of this app is fantastic! The iPhone camera is not great, but Camera Zoom has me taking way more pictures than I ever used to. THANK YOU!!!!
