Reviews:
Love it, could be some cool mods though. By: Tallboy999 - May 7, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 I think that you should be able to choose what kind of paper to print onto. I tried and it printed on the expensive glossy paper. I don't want to have to spend lots of money for pictures off my iPod. Also you should be able to choose the size of the picture so you don't waste inc. So 4-6, 6-8, 8.5-11 and any other sizes. But I do love the app. But please, these changes would make it even better.
PS
you should be able to print pics, notes, web pages, e-mails, and contacts. Make it the best, for free!
Works as promised. By: jbrandonf - May 5, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 I DO NOT have a wireless printer but this works because I have my printer connected directly to my router through an Ethernet cable. HP fix your description so users who are less tech savvy won't be turned away from this handy app.
I would like more settings so I can adjust the size of the picture I'm printing. I would like to possibly import documents from email to print like resumès or PDFs. Thanks HP!
Very Great! By: nickjuly4 - Jan 8, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 This is a very great innovative app that makes it possible to print images directly from my iPod Touch. I'm glad that someone took the first step into adding the ability to print directly from a portable device like the iPod. The only thing that I didn't like was that my HP Deskjet D2445 Series printer isn't supported, but I still was able to try it out by printing to one of the printers at my local Best Buy. xD Well, hopefully they'll add more support for more HP Printers and maybe more cool features taht this app could have.
PERFECT By: ElleWoods03 - May 1, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 Sadly, before downloading this I wasted $6 on another printing app that - despite hours spent troubleshooting- would not work with my HP printer. I tried this app as a last resort and it is perfect. Printing is simple, there have been no problems communicating the print command over my wifi network, and the photos (I print from photos taken on a real camera then transferred to my iPhone by computer) are beautiful. This is definitely a five star app.
First Class By: R'n'B Swinger - 28-Dec-2008 Version: 1.0 This is brilliant. Saw my C7280 immediately, though 'I think' the printer needs to be network connected and not USB connected. But for my use it's fantastic. The next step is for HP to somehow get it printing things like pages form Safari but that doesn't stop me giving the full five stars. Whether that's possible or not I don't know-but if it is, then Mr H.Packard I urge you consider it food for thought.
Love the update! By: KrisKT - Nov 14, 2009 Version: 2.0 The updates are just what I have been waiting for! I printed an email by taking a screenshot (hold down front home button and top on/off switch for a second and a picture is placed on your camera roll). In iPrint I chose the main tray and plain paper and it worked perfectly. Now anything on the screen you can print if it fits on a screenshot. Next, I hope there will be a way to print whole documents...
This app... The reason I am not swtiching from an HP Printer By: MikeRadio - Nov 12, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 Out of all the printer companies (Epson, Canon, etc) HP is the ONLY ONE to make a QUICK PRINT app that works with their printers.... No desktop software to run, no mumbo jumbo.... Just finds an HP on the wireless net.. anywhere.. and you can print.... Nothing beats it. Yes I agree that printing on 8 and ahalf by 11 would be nice.. plus the ability to print other things then pictures would be nice.. but this does its job and does it well!!Also. If you can make this more robust being able to print docs emails et.c. That would be great!
happy Easter By: Ricmac01 - Apr 12, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 This app does exactly what it says it will do. It prints pictures from your iPhone using the wireless network that your iPhone and HP printer are connected to. Remember you can also take snapshots of any screen and save to your camera roll (and therefore print if you wish).
But the best part of this app is the laughs I get from reading the one star reviews - no, it doesn't work with your Canon or Epson printer (duh). And funniest was the complaint that the reviewer didn't have paper for the printer.
Fantastic - just what I needed By: quietishguy - 05-Sep-2009 Version: 1.0.3 It is great when you get an app that actually does just what you want, and does it simply and reliably. This was a no brainer to get working, and in conjunction with my HP C4599 printer allows me to print pics from my iPhone with out the hassle of xferring them to the computer first - particulary handy when I go visiting rellies and they only have a Windows box. Just the printer and my iPhone and the kids get (almost) instant pics - just like the old polaroid cameras hey! This app makes buying a HP wireless printer an even better investment (note bias here as I have used HP printers for 20 years and love em)
Great app! -- But here is a tip if you have difficulity printing. By: Bob RJB - Sep 29, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 App "hp iPrint Photo" when installed on my old iPhone (OS) works flawlessly!!! -- But when installed on my newer iPhone 3G, it did not print to the designated WiFi printer. -- Both iPhones were running the same version of software (3.1) and both were configerated (almost) the same. -- But the older iPhone ran this App perfectly -- printing great photos to the designated printer!!! -- the newer iPhone 3G did NOT. -- SOLUTION: When printing photos from your iPhone (OS of 3G) be sure that "Bluetooth" is turned OFF. After doing that both of my iPhones work Great! I have increased my rating of this application to 5 stars. It does everything it is claimed to do !!!!!

Works as advertised on DeskJet 940C By: Dimplemonkey - Dec 30, 2008 Version: 1.0 Really like this app and it was long overdue. With my particular setup, the app detected my DeskJet 940C being shared by my G5. I wish it could spool the job out instead of making me wait until it is completely done. I'm under the impression that if I were printing another picture and an incoming phone call rings in that my print job will cease to continue. Can anyone else confirm this? I hope this isn't the case.
Now Apple needs to really incorporate this into Safari, Notes, Calendar, and Mail - ASAP!
Works Like A Charm By: Bears-R-Us - Dec 30, 2008 Version: 1.0 Here is hopefully some helpful advise for those having a bit of trouble: (Mac Users) 1. Go to the link to the right and choose - support. When it pulls up the HP iPrint Photo Page, go all the way to the bottom and choose the link that says support for HP.... 2. Then click on the link that says FAQ, it will tell you what printers are supported. 3. Once you know your printer is installed and is supported a last bit of advise, make sure you go under System Preferences and Choose File Sharing for this printer Once you do this, it works like a charm. The reason I share this is that it took me what seems like forever to find my way though poorly located instructions. I hope it helps. App works really well once configured.
This is awesome. By: i3network - 14-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0.2 Even though the iPhone camera is not the best on the planet, the ability to download an image from an email or the web to your iPhone, or even a photo from your synced iPhone library, and wirelessly print it to a HP printer (even if it's plugged into a Mac) is awesome. Next is email attachments (pages, numbers, keynote, PDF's.....) and emails themselves.... comon Apple... the technology is there...
Perfect! (No Lie!) By: open_tab - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 1.0 I have been DYING for a way to get the photos off of my iPod Touch and onto a printer in ONE step. Here's what I did after my Christmas Vacation: 1. Plugged in my camera and iPhoto copied all the pics and I named the event. 2. My iPod Touch automatically places the LAST IMPORT onto the iPod. 3. Opened the HP iPrint Photo App 4. Selected the Photo(s) I wanted. 5. Clicked PRINT! That was it! There are some things that made this easy: I have an iMac and I have a wireless (networked) HP Printer. If you have those two things...GET THIS APP NOW! If you don't then try it! IT'S FREE!!! Honestly though...it's perfect! Great job!
Make sure you turn on printer sharing in system preferences! (mac os x) By: beardedmonkey - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 1.0 I have the officejet 6310 all in one printer which is not listed on the compatible printer list (as of this writing). However, after turning on printer sharing in system preferences, the app now recognizes the printer and prints like a charm! Try this if you are having trouble. Like others have mentioned, if you take a screen shot you can print anything you want from the iPhone. This app is absolutely essential!
Great app. Long overdue! By: DirtyBird1977 - Dec 24, 2008 Version: 1.0 I was just researching for a way to print stuff from my phone and HP has made the first step. This works great for printing pictures to my HP Photosmart C6200 series. Took a matter of minutes to download and start printing pictures. I would like to see HP integrate this to print other items besides pictures like emails, web pages, notes, contact info, etc. Please HP work this into upcoming updates then this would be my most used app.
Brilliant app - I'm now out of ink & photo paper! By: SWorksRoubaix - Feb 27, 2009 Version: 1.0.3 Wow - from a business standpoint this is brilliant. I burned through more ink and paper in an hour than I did in the last 6 months. The grandparents went home with a handfull of snaps I would have never bothered printing. HP if you're listening - I'd pay for an app that did : color correction, sharpening and cropping. Lastly, I was truly amazed at how flawlessly this worked. I didn't have to configure a thing - the app just found my C5280 via my Airport basestation (WiFi router) and printed (and printed and printed . . . )
Outstanding little app By: rattlhed - Feb 16, 2009 Version: 1.0.2 This app works great for a free app. I had to change my printer from being connected via USB and then shared w/ my laptop to a networked printer so the iPhone would recognize it. Once I did that (pretty painless process), the iPhone recognized it immediately and I was able to print. My printer, the All In One 3210 was not listed on HP's site, but since my printer does have network capabilities, I figured it would work, and it does. It would be nice to be able to set the print settings, but I guess if I really wanted to do that I could just transfer the photo into Photoshop and do that myself. For a quick and easy 4x6 print of a picture taken on the iPhone this app works great. If you have an HP printer and it's networked, you should really have this app on your iPhone.
How to print emails By: Huzapro0 - Dec 22, 2008 Version: 1.0 People, it works perfectly! And I know how to print emails and web pages. What you have todo is take a picture of the screen (take a screen shot). You can do this by holding down the power button (the one on the top) and then pressingb the home bottom (the one with the square in it). The screen will flash white and what you had on the screen will flash and what ever you had on the screen will be saved into your saved into your pictures. Then just print it using this app! Hope you guys found this tip useful!
