Description:
Juxtaposer lets you combine multiple pictures into fun photomontages quickly and easily thanks to its amazingly intuitive and responsive user interface. Take any element from one picture and add it to another. Put your friend's head on a statue's body, remix your pets into a mythical creature, or magically join your favorite band, it's simple and the process is fun. Quotes from external reviews: * TUAW: "This $2.99 app is a lot of fun, as well as one of the best-executed compositing tools for a mobile device that I've ever seen." * IphoneAppReviews: "Pretty much everyone, at some point in time, has had the uncontrollable urge to take a friend’s photo and do something truly evil with it. Juxtaposer is an awesome photo-editing tool that can make that dream a reality!" * WhatsOnIphone.com: "The application works incredibly well and makes an otherwise challenging process simple and fun. It blows my mind that you can do such things on an iPhone." This is how you work with Juxtaposer: First, load in any two pictures - perhaps one of your dad, and one of your dog. Next, use your finger to erase around your dog's head. Quickly zoom in and out using two finger gestures. To cut out your dog's head exactly, you first zoom out and make a rough outline, then zoom in, and erase or un-erase with pixel-accuracy. Switch to move mode and use two fingers to move, re-size and rotate your dog's head into place over dad's. It's easy, intuitive and fun, and you'll have a great new Dog-Dad in about a minute. There is detailed in-program help if you need it and many cool features, including: - Unlimited undo means no mistake or accidental brushstroke is permanent. - Save directly to your photo album. - Save multiple sessions and return to them later. - Save top image cutouts as 'stamps' and use them in future projects. - Share your edited image on Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. - Use hard or soft brushes to create sharp or blurred edges. - Create smooth blends between images with transparent brushes. - Keep adding elements from other pictures to your composite image if you like. - Red mask mode (second screen shot) lets you accurately isolate part of one image without being distracted by the second image in the background. - Translucent mode makes it easy to align your images precisely. - The stamp tool lets you add multiple copies of your cut-out to your composite. - Work in portrait or landscape orientation; optionally have images auto-rotate. - Switch to and from full-screen with the tap of a finger. - Double-tap to quickly switch between erase and un-erase functions. - Flip the top image. - Set advanced settings in the Settings application.

Reviews:
Great photo tool By: iPhoneAppReviews - Dec 5, 2008 Version: 1.2.1 Pretty much everyone, at some point in time, has had the uncontrollable urge to take a friend’s photo and do something truly evil with it. Juxtaposer is an awesome photo-editing tool that can make that dream a reality! It may seem complicated at first, but it’s really not. Just choose a base image, then choose an image you want to paste over it, and start whittling away at the edges of the top photo until the two images have become one. The genius of Juxtaposer is in how it handles the photo on top, the one you’re blending into the base image. Instead of actually erasing, it’s just creating a mask that hides the parts you don’t want. This means you can UNERASE which is by far one of the most valuable operations in this iPhone photo editor. There’s also undo which is awesome in itself, but being able to resurrect pieces of a photo is just brilliant. You don’t have to be a genius with photo-editing software to use Juxtaposer, but it does help if you have a steady finger. There are numerous upgrades that would make Juxtaposer even more amazing like color operations for adjusting hue/brightness/contrast and varying brush sizes, but I’m quite certain the developer knows this already and just needs to decide how close he wants to come to turning this app into a full-fledged iPhone Photoshop tool. If you’ve got photos and want to have some fun with them, get Juxtaposer! $2.99 is a very fair price for a photo editor of this caliber.
ONE OF THE BEST PHOTO EDITING APPS EVER!!! By: Anabolical Xecutioner - Dec 2, 2008 Version: 1.2.1 This is one of my favorite photo editing apps yet, I like cutting stuff out of one pic and adding it to another pic, its very simple to use and makes some pretty darn good pictures, this and one other app i use alot to edit my pictures both combined are like my portable photoshop, all this app would need to make me even more happy would be a feature to save objects you extract so you can paste them onto different pictures in another session another day, instead of having to redo the whole thing..... good work though, I can see a bright future for this app as its got IT! this might be my second review for this app, but it is that damn good!
Delicious :) By: MrBoBo Rocks! - Oct 17, 2008 Version: 1.0 These are the most fun results I've gotten from any iPhone app I've tried..
Pros:
- Extremely easy to learn
- Makes excellent use of touch screen for editing
- Zoom is great for precision that's... good enough :)
Cons:
- No way to save work and complete it later.
- No way to save editted top images (stamps) for use in another session
- Must use another app to add text (e.g., ComicTouch)
Wish List:
- I wish I could download or share stamps...
Seriously, thanks. This is a great app.
Slick By: yotam.g - Oct 13, 2008 Version: 1.0 Last night I showed this app off to some friends --- it was the first time I'd ever launched it myself actually --- and without a hiccup I was able to replace the face of one friend with the face of her husband. It's rare to open a program for the first time and try to do something and have it Just Work, but rarer still to live demo a program you've never launched before and have it Just Work! Nice piece of software!
Fast, responsive By: bhima - Oct 8, 2008 Version: 1.0 Great and easy to use compositing app. Zooming in lets you be very precise.
Two feature requests:
I would like to be able to save a composite in an internal file format so I can come back and edit it again. Currently you must do all editing in one session.
Color tools to let me adjust the color balance of the images to match would be nice.
Also, looking at a full res image before it inserts it would be nice. I have 14k photos in my library, and many are similar. When I am looking for a face and body that match, I need more than a thumbnail. So, instead of thumbnail to final insertion, I'd like a zoomable confirmation window. People who don't use motor winds to take 10 photos of a person starting to smile may not need this feature.
(ok, three requests)
Well done! By: SFDex - Oct 7, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is a very well executed compositing tool that can be used for mixing up heads, yes, but for a whole lot more, as well. The interface is quick and smooth to use, and the tools are easy to understand. Do read the help page that opens up when you first launch the program; it's really helpful. I've already used this in conjunction with other photo apps I own to apply filters to discrete areas of an image (like color correction of just a small part of a photo). A very useful tool to have in my phone, getting one step closer to a full photo editing suite! Can't wait to see what else this developer may have up his sleeve!
fun photography toy! By: kiss kiss pyongyang - 12-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 One of the problems with the iPhone camera is that you can take pictures easily enough, but you can't really do much with them until you get home and upload them into iPhoto. This app helps fix that: you can take pics and do some simple goofs right on your iPhone with multitouch. It's not a fully featured editor (why would you want that on an iPhone anyway?), but it lets you play with your pics and show off the results on the spot.
This app is what an I-phone is for By: Masteryoni - 28-Oct-2008 Version: 1.1 Look, phone, sms, maps, we can use and find these any where. This application nearly made me fall off my chair laughing, literally. It is comical, intuitive, and best of all simple to use with hilarious results. I am truly obsessed with the comedic value of this app, it is well worth the small fee and could offer a money back guarantee that would never be claimed upon. This what the i-phone was truly made for.
Best app on the planet By: Davinci's crew - Aug 15, 2009 Version: 2.3 I will admit, i was a little sceptical of this app. Even with it's great rating, I was skeptical. I am amazed after purchasing this app. This is the funnest app and most proffesional of a app as I have ever seen. There are exspensive photo editing programs for the computer that could take some lessons. Great job to the company, the software makers and the marketers for making This great little app so affordable and fun. Thanks.
Ummm By: Ledi51 - Aug 2, 2009 Version: 2.3 I used the lite version which was great, then I switched to this. I thought it was 5 stars until I saved an image. When I went to my photos and looked at it, the picture quality was terrible, pixellated without zooming in. I didn't see any other complaints about this so I tried another, same results. The quality of the original pictures isn't this bad. Fix this, and you get the first 5 star I've ever given.
PERPETUAL FUN FOR LITTLE MONEY By: Clarflob - Jul 20, 2009 Version: 2.3 TERRIFIC ! Last thing I did with this was to download a bloke dressed in Revolutionary War uniform (from Google Image), synced it to my phone, replaced his face with mine from another foto, and now I can show my "picture" to friends and brag about how I helped the founding fathers in 1776. The process of blending the 2 pics was a lot easier than on my computer. For 3 bucks I now have something that I'll be able to enjoy for years.
Powerful fun app for photo doctoring. :-) By: The Organist - Jul 11, 2009 Version: 2.3 This is another great app from Hendrik Kueck! I can't believe how powerful a photo editing program can be on an iPod/iPhone. I've used the program to cut friends out of photos and place their image on different backgrounds. It's a lot of fun and too easy. The images that you cut out can be saved as stamps for later use. I've ghosted (made transparent) images and placed them on scenic backgrounds. The results are very professional. This program will be a keeper amongst my photo editing apps.
This Guy Knows How To Do An App!! By: EvenStephen2000 - Apr 22, 2009 Version: 2.2 This app is great and the creator did it the way I wish others would do it. Right on your iPhone, you can watch an extremely helpful video explaining all of the features, how to apply them and then he adds a few extra tips. The app works as advertised and it's a really fun and innovative addition to any of the photography apps. Buy this, and his other app ColorSplash. Seriously two of the best apps in the store. Period!
Perfection By: Jocko1111 - Nov 9, 2009 Version: 2.3 This is perfection. The developer is a genius. The only limitation is your imagination. I have blended peoples faces into new but believable images. Taken a mutated version of my head from Face Melter and made it a stamp on Juxtiposer, then added that head to numerous web photos I downloaded and created a fantasy adventure. I have done so many outrageous things with my friends faces that they now run when I pull out a camera. But maybe you can control it. If you also have another photo app that adjust hues and saturation it may help sometimes to adjust photos before combining them here.
