This is by far the most user friendly photo manipulation tool on the iPhone. Worth every penny. The ease in which you can rotate, crop and adjust the colour balance of your photos as well as adding some fun elements of speech bubbles and fancy framing is impressive. Hope to see this app grow with some filters and maybe some sliders to adjust individual levels of colour, brightness and contrast. Superb!

Ever take a crummy picture and wished that you can fix it on the fly? Well, look no further and download Photogene! It works as advertised!! I was able to adjust colors, exposure, contrast, rotate, filters, cropping, add special effects such as text symbols and create frames to customize the edges of my photos. It's worth every penny...!! Apple should have incorporated these features in the 1st place!!

I love taking pictures and having the option to create different looks on them. With this app you can do it all. I use it everyday and have fun with it. No pro photographer, with this app anybody can make a great picture. Would like to see more things added to it. Like, cut- outs, more effect layouts, just go big with it. All and all this app is a must have and just have fun using it. Props to the genius who made this app. Thank you, keep up the good work. P.S. If you are reading this, stop and buy it now!

One of my biggest complaints with the iphones camera was the lack of editing, thanks to this app the camera is now complete and my frustration is subsiding. This app is basically the editing features you will find on iphoto from a mac put onto your phone, with a little extra stuff like speech bubbles. You name it it's here. All the controls are easy and natural nothing frustrating like panolab just simple sliders and a very well done cropping feature. I don't really know what else to say other than this app does what it is supposed to and does it perfectly. I suggest getting this if you are an iphone user but if you use the ipod touch not so much. Well worth the $3 tag

Love it! love it! love it! I have been using this app for months now. I use it all the time...I never forward a pic without enhancing it in this app first- it really does make a huge difference in my photos. Its very easy to use & the options are great! I even sent a reg camera pick to my phone to edit with this app. It originally was really dark & pretty much useless- all I had to do this time was auto correct it & it lightened it perfectly...the group pic was easily restored. It was very impressive to see bad turn to good so easily. I highly recommend this app for everyone...!!!

I happen to love taking photos with my iphone... I like the way it captures 'what you see is what you get' light. If the light is interesting, you can get a great shot. The only downside was the inability to modify the photo if it didn't come out perfect. I downloaded Photogene because I saw I would be able to finally crop a photo easily, but I can't believe how many other useful functions come with the app. It's like having a mini Photoshop on your iphone. I love it. GREAT APP!!!!

Photogene is exactly what I've been waiting for since I snapped my first shot on my iPhone's camera!!! The capabilities are just what I had hoped to see from an Apple app. Please oh please develop an app that can use an eye-dropper to take color straight from our photos, load it onto a brush (with many size options), and correct blemishes/spots/wrinkles/etc. at a full range of opacity options...all with quality commensurate with Photogene's capabilities/quality! (And preferably at this most agreeable price!!).

I edit pic alot on Photoshop and wanted an app that would do want I want in my pic not as much as photoshop but most of these outher apps only realy let u do 1 or 2 things to a photo. Now they do them well but still only 1 or 2 things. This app will give u so much more to do to your pic so mour pic won't look the same every one will be diffrentTo go with every mood gr8 app if u don't get it ur bum

Absolutely great app! I've had this app for a long time. If you want pictures edited buy THIS ONE to do that!! It can even take away the orange tinge caused by too much light ----------------------------------------- Here are a few things that could be added in a future update! Please revise: -The ability to insert other photos into the same one and cut around that said photo to make a collage. **This would be great since no other app on the appstore offers this feature. **if added. It would also be cool to alter transparency for layering -Tilt and curve words instead of the plain old horizontal writing. A lot like WordArt on the program Microsoft Word. -Add more text box shapes/styles. -Add more fonts for writing. -More coloring effects like black & white or negative ------------------------------------------ Once again guys well done and congratulations on top 25. Good luck!

This app really does a nice job. There are limits to what you can do to the image because of limitations in the camera, so don't expect miracles from ANY of these apps. This one provides some very nice controls and the results are surprisingly good. It takes a little use to figure out the icons on the side and some playing to get the results you'd like but there are alot of controls that most of these apps don't provide. You can definitely improve almost any picture with this app.

This is the BEST app ever!!! As a mother of three kids, I'm constantly taking pictures of my children. I was disappointed with the photo qualitly of the iPhone when I first bought it, but this app makes photos look just as good as my $300 digital camera. You can adjust the brightness, sharpness, rotate photos, crop, and a whloe lot more. As a previous review stated, I would've paid a lot more for this amazing, fun and easy to use app!

There are a few out of date reviews on this app. One states that Photogene doesn't work with "portrait oriented" photos. This is no longer true. Another suggests that Photogene will "enlarge" your image from a low resolution version, like the inferior "Picoli" app. This is no longer true, as Photogene maintains the native resolution all the way through the editing process.
This is a great application with room to grow, with an active developer making improvements. I'd like to see a greater selection of filters, including blur, but this app is worth it for levels adjustment and cropping alone.

As a Photoshop guy, I wasn't expecting much horsepower for an App. I read about a couple of photo editing apps and decided on paying just a bit over the usual 99 cents and I feel it was a great value. I first just wanted something simple for cropping but the other features in Photogene are very well done and so easy to use. I especially like that I can adjust levels since the camera on the iPhone isn't that great. Color saturation is a must to kill the 'washed out' look from the photos. The other things are just for fun, don't think I'd really use them--the comic balloons and color effects. I'm one of those guys that only likes to have a few apps on my phone at a time and this is a keeper! Nice work.

Bought this app after trying out a few of the free image editing apps. This really is the best one I have seen. Especially for a few bucks it's a great deal for what you get (all the tools you need to add some punch and clarity to the admittedly flat iPhone photos) If nothing else it's great to be able to crop and adjust exposure after taking a quick photo in less than ideal lighting conditions. If you are looking for something to enhance your photos quickly before upliading to Twitter or Facebook or whatever, get this app. It's great.

I looked at and have tried several photo apps, This is the one I use the most. It works well and has many more features that listed. A lot of the negative reviews I see are from people that don't understand photo apps in general and what they are supposed to do. The cropping feature works great. The general workflow of the app is very intuitive. I highly recommend this app. Can't wait for the updates.

I've tried all the photo editing apps, and this one is bar far the best. Lots if features and an easy-to-use interface make this fun and useful.
Just yesterday I took a picture, cropped it, adjusted the colors using a histogram, added a thought balloon, added text to the thought balloon, changed the color and font of the text, moved and resized the thought balloon, and e-mailed the photo out to a couple people, all just using my iPhone. There's no other phone in the world that can do all that, especially as easily as the iPhone and Photogene.

I wanted a little photo editing program that would allow me to crop and edit the exposure on my iphone photos, where I usually just take a quick photo and send it out to friends. I use iPhoto and Photoshop Elements for my "serious editing," and I can't tell you how great it was to open Photogene and walk right through cropping, editing levels and exposure, and then adding a frame and a comic bubble for fun! No instructions needed. Thanks, Omer, this is what the iphone is all about.

I've downloaded over 200 apps to my phone and I've spent lots of money on them. I have to sat this is the second most useful app I've bought for my iPhone, next to logmein. If you want to actually use the pictures you take with your iPhone get this app. Before getting it I had a bunch of pictures that I didn't use or distribute but now I'm editing them and actually happy to share them with others.

Perfect for iPhone Camera!

I haven't been using my iPhone camera at all until just recently. I saw this app and Best Camera, and decided this was the better choice because it allows for manual adjustments rather than just automated and fixed editing features that can't be controlled.
It would be nice to have a preview button to click on and off to compare adjustments (like in Photoshop and iPhoto).
I'm anxious to see what the future holds for this app. I know if Apple comes out with their own, it most likely won't be as extensive as his one. Just look at their video editor.

I don't buy many apps but this is well worth it!

I have bought very few apps -- found a lot of great free ones. Plus, as an amateur photographer, I just usually dragged my photos into Photoshop and did any re-touching there. I finally decided "what the heck, for 3 bucks, why not? It's not exactly a lot of money." The first time I used it I thought "wow, this is ONLY $2.99?!" OK so it's not Photoshop but then the iPhone isn't my Nikon camera either. However, I do take photos with iPhone when I don't have my Nikon with me and it's amazing what this little app is capable of. Clearly the developer enjoys photography and gave a lot of thought of what would be handy. Great job! And I am sorry I didn't buy this sooner.
One last thing...I read that the latest version resulted in some blurriness. It happened to me, too, on one photo but then I was trying to crop it -- and thus blow it up -- a lot. Probably went the resolution capability of the original photo.
