Features: - Picture privacy - Take pictures from the camera (iPhone only) or import from existing pictures - Image browsing with pan and zoom - Export pictures from PicVault back to your pictures library to sync them with your computer Warning: do not forget your PIN. There is no way to recover it!! Thanks for all the great feedback. Version 2.0 is here! It includes: - Folder organization - Better image browsing - Scroll through images from the image viewer - Images not clipped when zoomed out - New icon (calculator) - New display name (PV) NEWS: Version 2.1 is here! It includes MULTIPLE IMPORT and preliminary support for swipe-to-next-photo. Check out the PicVault page at http://www.johnmoff.com for screenshots. All updates will be free for anyone who purchases the application. NOTE: PicVault works best with less than 50 photos per folder. Please create a new folder if you need to import more than 50 photos. I am working on an update to address this. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Make sure you back up (export all) your PicVault photos before you apply any update in case there are any hiccups.

Reviews:
Good start - but more needed By: shimuzu - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 2.1 I've been waiting for an app like this - the only trouble is that you can only import from your gallery - one at a time. Would be good if you can batch import/export. Also, you cannot scroll through images the same way as the regular gallery. You have to keep going back to the main page (picture collection) to view the next picture. Also, the images appear bigger than the the screen and you cannot rescale to a smaller size, it just rubberbands back up to actual size - which makes it difficult to view the whole picture. Hope that this gets updated as it is a great and much needed app.
Great App By: MikeMpls - Nov 12, 2008 Version: 2.1 Finally I can store my photos that are private in a secure place without people accidentally finding them in my phone's photo gallery. You can easily create new folders for specific photos and move photos into them. The one missing feature would be a self-timer feature for the camera feature that is part of the application - I am currently using a separate application for this purpose but it would be awesome if this was integrated into this app. I agree with other posters - please update the icon to remove the padlock - it looks silly.
Best pix vault yet! However... By: Mike21345 - Jun 22, 2009 Version: 2.1 The only thing that PicVault needs is a slideshow option. PicVault does everything else reliably and dependably. This would be a KILLER app with slideshows - PLEASE! Notes: 1. PicVault is the only photo app that can import multiple pix from the PhotoRoll and back to the PhotoRoll. 2. I suspect that PicVault is not being supported any longer - there is a new Pic Vault Pro renamed app that replaces PicVault. 3. Do NOT buy Picture Safe - just crashed my iPhone and all saved pix - had to reload 20 old apps. 4. PicVault handles JPEG files only - unlike Picture Safe which imports files only as PNG (WTF? - PNG??? Seriously???)
4 Star app for now...(update 5 Star App) By: iPhone Convert - Oct 14, 2008 Version: 2.1 ....does exactly what it's advertised to do and is simple to use. Looking forward to the 2.1 update. If it remains as stable and has multiple import (a real time saver that MANY apps seem to be lacking) then this easily goes to 5 stars. Simple, effective, stable....combination of a good app. Oh yeah, maybe I longer combination could be useful but that's just nitpicky. 4 combinations of 10 already gives 10,000 possible codes...but.... Update: Multiple Import function and swipe support made this a 5 star app. Still room for improvement but still 5 stars for getting the multiple import right. Keep an eye on this one.
Reminds me of HidePod By: Dxtra - Oct 14, 2008 Version: 2.1 This apps does one thing well it's hide pictures. But upgrade UI, make icons
Out of pics and folders and so on . Make it look more like the default photo app. I'll pay even more if you upgrade. 10/14/08
It will better to just name it like Icalculator ones it's install 2. Instead just load up to a real calculator and you simply type a code to get into the app. Like ".8000." Take a look at HidePod.app for some ideas
Great By: THEnextXENOCIDE - Mar 12, 2009 Version: 2.1 But calculator should work and instead of the signs like # and * there should be multiplication addition subtraction and division signs. Also, take away the lock on the icon. Otherwise, awesome. And one last thing. When it imports the photos, there should be an option to delete the photos u imported from the normal photo library. Just thought of another: there should be a fake passcode, so that if someone demands access, you can take them to a safe place. :)
Just about perfect By: libtechinit - Aug 26, 2008 Version: 2.0 I just downloaded this app on aug 26th and its everything I was looking for especially after the 2.0 update. It performes just like it says and its super easy to use. Locks all my photos I dont want anyone to see away which is the one thing I was worried about buying an iphone. All the new features with the update just make it that much better. Everyones gonna need this app good work and thanks alot!!!
This app is crucial. By: Steve P. Wilson - Aug 5, 2008 Version: 1.0 I doubt that there's anybody who doesn't have pictures they want to stay private. Therefore, basically everybody needs this app! Who wouldn't breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their family and friends can breeze through all their photo gallery pics, knowing that anything sensitive or embarrassing is locked behind a password? I think it is well worth the money, especially since an update is forthcoming. Thanks for the app!
Excellent and Easy to use By: Leggy Blonde from Tech Support - Aug 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 I was disappointed that Apple did not initally include any privacy measures for the photo application (not to mention other apps) on the iPhone, so this is perfect! So many people want to handle my phone for a variety of reasons, but I especially dislike the idea of someone taking a look through all of my photos. This app solves that problem and is very easy to use. It also adds some sense of security that important photos will not be accidentally deleted- which I think can happen in the regular photo app. For just 99 cents I think everyone should add it to their phone. Thanks!
Excellent app! By: mcdcrook - Jul 31, 2008 Version: 1.0 This is a great app! Picvault easily hides the photos you don't want everyone seeing (for whatever reason). Plus, it lets you save photos without fear of losing them while syncing. Managing synced photo folders is a hassle and can lead to accidental deletions of your entire photo/music library. PicVault will keep accidentally deleted photos and let you simply export them back into your photo library.

Excellent app. Few suggestions By: ChrisJanssen - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 2.1 Very cool application. It does what it says it does. I actually used this app for my personal pictures and "personal" picture. Haha. Just a few suggestions to improve the app. - make the browsing more smooth- zoom in and out using tap- probably view pictures in organized thumbnails like in the photo library- allow rename of folder cause I don't want to delete the pics just so I can delete it- folder nesting so folders for specific type of pictures are together- maybe allow mass email (email many pics in one sending)This really is a cool app especially for those people who have annoying and snooping friends hahaGonna wait for an update!!!
Well worth the money By: VegaNova - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 2.1 There are a few improvements that could be made which have been mentioned in previous reviews (ability to rename folders, slideshow, functioning calculator, etc). These would all be wonderful upgrades, however even without them this program does all it says it will.It takes a bit of synching to get private photos into your library, transferred into this app, then deleted from the public library. But once you've cleaned up your tracks you're left with a private stash of photos locked away from prying eyes. Well worth the small charge for this app. One of my favorites so far!
I like it alot! By: Shat Parp - 10-Mar-2009 Version: 2.1 Good little app, does what it promises, creates a nice seperate area of your phone's memory to store stuff that you might not particulary want others to see.
The calculation input is easy enough, interface looks quite bland but I suppose that is the general idea. Once inside, any private files or photos are displayed as a thumbnail for you to select at your pleasure.
Very handy and well worth the small fee.

At last By: Adziow - 14-Dec-2008 Version: 2.1 Ok, I admit this isn't a perfect app but it gets 5 stars from me for the simple reason that, finally, I've found a way of ensuring a little privacy.
I'm sure I'm not alone in that I have pics on my phone that I don't really want others to see. Now I don't have to worry when I hand it over in a pub etc, fantastic!
Yes there could be a slideshow function and I admit it would be handy to have an option of sub-filing folders but hopefully these will come with future upgrades.
Excellent work mr developer!
