Best App Ever By: Bobbybobnyfdhcf - Mar 22, 2009 Version: 1.0 Those people who needs access to the images, wats the point, connect app to comp and get ur images. Cons first. PDF files work except links, which dont work. Moderate 5000+ words html documemts are slow to load, hard to dl all items back to computer. Works only on wifi. Crashes on 40000+ word text documentsPros, save any thing to ur ipod/iphone 1 of the only free apps that can do this. Made well enough to be able to read books. You can access others ppls ipod near you and share + millions of other things. Great app
Awesome By: Toddfred - Mar 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 It's free! what do you expect? The apps that you would pay for are much better obviously, because you pay for them! This app is the best of it's kind, meaning it acts like a flash drive USB and it's FREE! You don't like it, go spend $6 on another app that does exactly what this one does only "it supports HTML doc.s!" Plain and simple- get it!Update---------Still loving the app! But I'm waiting for the paid version "Discover Pro"
Good, but ... By: djc0 - Jan 23, 2009 Version: 0.9.6 UPDATE: seemed to have caught the perminent white screen of death. Won't start regardless. Please fix!
---------------
Works (mostly) as advertised, and quite painlessly. I don't mind the interface. I really like the browser interface. However:
- white screen of death when started without a wireless connection.
- browser interface needs more functionality. Same for the app itself (move files/directory, bulk file operations, ...).
- anoying location services prompts as everyone else has noted.
- adds are anoying. I'd pay for an add free version.
I've focused on the negatives here, but this app shows a lot of promise. Has the potential to be one of the best.
Sales Professional - One app you need By: familyuv4 - Jan 16, 2009 Version: 0.9.6 I've been trying to find an app that I can use to download Excel or Word files, instead of emailing them to myself. This works perfectly. PDF files work seamlessly as well. I've found that you have to think though what you need in an app, and then make it adapt to your needs. I.E.<---(that means example, not internet explorer), a contact list that can be edited on your desktop (i own a pc, not a mac) this program will function this way. I made a contact list in MS word, and then uploaded it to my ipod touch. If I need to edit it later, no problem, edit, resave, and upload to the ipod again. I just started with this app, so I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as productivity with it. It's FREE!
AWESOME! Easy, quick set up with great results. By: macgeekwannabe - Feb 20, 2009 Version: 0.9.6 Thinking this product would only work for iphones and not ipod touches, I downloaded 2 other apps before downloading Discover. (Total waste of time). I don't have a MobileMe account so the first one I got didn't work and the File Lite was really confusing to set up. On my third try I downloaded Discover and it worked so quickly and easily! It works for both iphones and ipod touches. I wasn't understanding how to set up the WebDAV stuff, so I was relieved when I realized that Discover had another option in addition to the WebDAV. By just connecting my ipod, going to my bookmarks and clicking 'bonjour' and then clicking on my ipod, a web page pops up where I choose a file, uploaded it and it went directly onto my ipod! I was so relieved I finally found something that worked and that I understood how to use. Really great app. that I would recommend to anyone.
EXCELLENT APP! Very satisfied, but 1 suggestion By: Saephiroth - Jan 15, 2009 Version: 0.9.6 First of all, thank you so very much for an incredible app. All of your hard work has made my iPod Touch experience all the better, and I thank you very much for that. You definitely have a satisfied customer here. I use your app to view my comics and graphic novels on my iPod Touch, which are in .PDF format... and before finding Discover, I had no way of doing that unless I wanted to pay for an app that was a .PDF viewer. So once again, thank you for creating such a wonderful application, and thanks doubly for making it free! I have one suggestion though, and I hope you would be able to incorporate this into a future update very soon. Like I said, I use your app for viewing my graphic novels and comics, and for the most part, this works out very well. I say for the most part, because of one small annoyance I have found with Discover, which I'm sure you could easily fix. Some of the .PDF files of my comics have pages included within them that are at a smaller image size than others, and when viewing them on my iPod Touch, Discover only zooms in to a certain point and then I can no longer zoom in anymore. When viewing the comics on my PC, I have no problem zooming in as much as I need to, to make the page readable with Adobe Reader. However, like I said, on the iPod, these same pages cannot be zoomed in far enough when using your Discover app to view them at a readable size. I have no idea why there is a limit on how far you can zoom in, but if you would be able to remove this limitation, and allow us to zoom in as far as we want, then I would be extremely grateful. This would save me many hours of frustration on trying to resize the images in the .PDF file, which so far I have been unable to do. Thanks for any consideration you give to this matter. Once again, keep up the good work, and thank you so much for an amazing application. I hope you can help me out with the zoom issue. Take care!
Amazing! By: Chequer - 30-Jan-2009 Version: 0.9.6 I was dubious about this application as I seem to have downloaded lots of dross recently that has been deleted within minutes of downloading.
This application does not disappoint! It worked first time. All I did was type the URL from the hints page into Firefox and up popped the iTouch. Within seconds I'd chosen about 15 PDF files which zapped across at the touch of the upload button.
So, ok, the adverts are annoying but, hey, what do you want from a free and fantastic application. Other application 'scribblers' should up their game.
Excellent, fun, pleasant interface By: Manuelo20 - Jan 9, 2009 Version: 0.9.6 This is an excellent app. I've been through a few apps including paying for Readdledocs. Readdlesdocs is good, but no thumbnails and no file upload progress indicator. Discover let's you know how many bytes have been uploaded in real-time. You'd tend to think huge ISO files crashed in other apps that don't show an indicator, like Discover does. I love the big icons and thumbnail images Discover offers. Thumbnails make sifting through backup files as easy as can be. Options are provided to turn thumbnails off if you prefer. =)
I love the vintage floppy icon. I think it's creative and original. On one level, the icon hides the power of this app from people who focus on the surface of things, while the name Discover hints the app is worth looking into. And wifi on the cover of the icon obviously describes the app's purpose. Notice the floppy is open. All together the icon, name and text say: "Discover wifi and save files freely onto your iPod/iPhone." Wonderful! =D ....AND DISCOVER IS FREE!!!! WOW. :]
The wholy grail By: OrsonX - 25-Jan-2009 Version: 0.9.6 [updated review for version 0.9.6] This is a brilliant app., I've also tried the similar app. "Files Lite" but couldn't make head nor tails of it. By contrast this is very simple and easy to use, with good instructions. It is great to have my important word documents on my phone, and to be able to easily share these files with other iPhoners. Transfered document & pictures don't appear in the iPhone Photo Album, making it ideal for hiding pictures/movies you don't want prying eyes to find. Best of all all Discover is now password protected!!!
Incredibly useful By: dummy_name - 19-Feb-2009 Version: 0.9.6 I found that this app was fast, reliable, elegant and astonishingly polished for a free app. I cannot understand what must have happened to those who complained of it being slow or crashing - none of these things were my experience.
One suggestion for the consideration of the developers is that if a number of mp3 tracks are loaded into a folder, it would be useful if they were played sequentially, rather than having manually to start each one when the previous one finishes. In effect by deciding what is in a folder you could then create a playlist.
It would also be useful if music continued to play while the user moved to other apps, a la iTunes.
But overall a great achievement and a must-have app

Excellent app! By: arun91292 - 17-Jan-2009 Version: 0.9.6 Why the bad reviews? I have virtually had no problems at all with using this app. It does exactly what I want it to which is to quickly transfer files such as documents and pictures (docs and jpegs). One added bonus as well- it's free. My only problem was that using my computer I couldn't put a file into a sub directory (ie a folder inside the server). I have to upload to the root, and then using the iPod touch, move the file into its correct folder. Hopefully an update will fix that, but it does not really hinder me as the UI of the app is pretty much perfect.
Great app! Excelent, and always getting better! By: Keplers - Dec 28, 2008 Version: 0.9.6 Discover is -THE BEST- app for the ipod/iphone. People that are whinning about bugs and crashes are completely missing the point: Pros: 1. Its a free app, and the ads will not bother the user in any moment; 2. Using it is simple and effective; 3. THE DEV TEAM is great = they will keep their promices and the program is getting better with every update. 4. File transfering is quick; 5. Lots of files are suported: PDF, DOC, HTML, MP3, photos, videos and so on... FOR THE UNSATISFIED PEOPLE: Keep in mind that the program is being developed and improved constantly. That said you cant expect all the features that you want to get done overnight...
Great app! By: captinstefan - 05-Nov-2008 Version: 0.9.2 I must say I'm impressed! My immediate comparison is AirSharing. At the moment, AirSharing wins on look and feel. But Discover takes the prize for functionality. I love the fact you can share between iPhones, and it's a nice touch that you can access your photos. Photo thumbnails are a great help and the web interface works very well (it would be great if you could drag and drop files into the web browser, but this is probably a limitation of the web browser itself) Now all it needs is this funtion: (please add this!!): the ability to access your non-DRM music within your iPod library, along with the function to share tracks between iPhones and you have a killer app for the iPhone. Music sharing anyone?
Works great and free By: Firemedicgurl - Sep 27, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app works well. The interface is completely unintuitive, but I hope there's an update coming for that. Considering the fact that I paid a dollar for a similar app that did not work at all, and this one is free and let's me use my docs offline I'm pretty happy with it. Just make moving files and folders a little more smooth! If you were gonna pay .99 for file share or 5 bones for air sharing you got duped.
MY SAVIOR! By: Your_Best_Friend - Dec 18, 2008 Version: 0.9.6 I had a huge video project and had to transfer files across computers from person to person and all i did was upload it to my iphone and everyone got a copy when they came over. It loads very quickly and is basically a free flash drive which works over wifi. I love this app and don't use it daily, but it does its job well and I am thankful I have it when I have big video projects or just need to transfer some files with no flash drive in sight.
Awesome!!! By: Buddy1660 - Aug 17, 2009 Version: 1.0 I tried all of the other free document transfer apps!! This one worked the best!! I can download docs I couldn't with the others! I can see a preview of the picturesi downloaded in the mainsxreen! The downloading process is easy and looks better than the others! Also I can use my iPod as a flash drive!! I couldn't do that with the others!!! Lastly, I can put a password on it so no one can access my filed but me!! Great download!!
Perfect solution for what it does. By: Aaronjw - Aug 6, 2009 Version: 1.0 Need to make your iPhone act a external drive like all other iPods before it could? This app makes it so, and makes it even easier. No need for a docking cable. Using both a browser and Transmit was flawless. Although Transmit does take a little tweaking to get it 100% correct (Make sure WebDAV is selected - Duh). But like I say, it does what it says it does, and it does it well. Simply, efficiently, and quickly.

Fantastic and diverse. By: Jaysonic - Dec 16, 2008 Version: 0.9.5 This is a fantastic app. It gives you access to work or personal documents and covers a lot of file formats. Ever get embarressed when someone looks through your iphone videos? This app plays MP4's very nicely. Make a password protected folder and you have it at your convenience without worrying about the noisy person whose ALWAYS asking to borrow your iphone for a few minutes.
Good app! By: notrandom - Dec 14, 2008 Version: 0.9.5 Great app actually. I had problems with the wsod (white screen of death). I deleted and reinstalled it, but it still didn't work. I figured it was because I was using OS 2.2, and it just wasn't compatible. About a week later, I tried it again, and it worked! Not sure what went wrong or how I got it to work again, but it does and I'm glad. So be patient and maybe yours will fix itself, too!
Great app, keep it up!
