This is a very nice application. Can mail. Can sync and does everything I need for word documents I would love however and would pay an extra dollar for is to directly print documents to printers on the network. That would be off the hizzy. Then procrastinating on school reports would be soooooo easy. Next it would be nice to be able to download the docs from gmail. I love this app. This is one of those apps that get you closer to making your home computer obsolete thanks. However I would really love a text size and font type option. I need this for the teacher that HAS TO HAVE that certain format for some reason. And will fail your paper if you don't. Please add it with the update for excel or beforehand.

Yes. I have been a long time DTG user. Pam/PPC/Palm and now IPod Touch. I didn;t realize it until I just now downloaded DTG for the Touch, but everything was a bit "out of sorts" without DTG. I loved everything about my Touch. But DTG was missing. No More! You guys hit the "perfection bullseye" for a new platform release! I am now back to using DTG for everything. Hint. Need a simple view organize and change photos native size? Get DTG. Want a product that lets you read everything and edit most formats. Get DTG. Want something that is absolutely elegant in the way it manages folders and wi-fi sync. Get DTG. Im going to spend the next few hours getting my life back in order! Finally. Thanks DataViz - - - and thanks also for adopting the lower pricing structure. I couldn;t beleive all I was getting for $5.00. I KNOW it will pay off you you!

I'm guessing that I'd be considered a lite user of Docs to Go for the iPhone. I have a half dozen documents and spreadsheets that I like to keep handy for quick reference. I've found syncing these to be quite easy. I'm actually impressed that Docs To Go has been improving the loading time on the spreadsheeds...and let me tell you, I have some huge ones. With regular updates, they seem dedicated to updating and improving this program. Great program! It's paid for itself.

WiFi is on every Mac

A great app in every way. I've been using it for many years. (Palm version on a smart phone). Just wanted to clue some complainers about not being able to sync their ipod touch or iphone because of the need for WIFI. Did you know that every Mac comes with built in WIFI? Even if it isn't hooked up to your computer. Open up Internet Connect in the Application folder. Click on the Network button above the Signal Level. Create Network. Now your iPod touch will sync with your desktop version of Documents To Go. Who needs USB on a Mac? : )

This is pretty awesome, Word has full compatibility, and excel has awesome features, I've tried documents, and documents 2 and they just can't touch it. The different fonts, and font sizes was a huge ice breaker for which office program is the best. I love the layout of both the mobile, and the desktop program. I've seen quicoffice too, they're just handing out the same material at a much larger price. The syncing is awesome! All I have to do is just sync my iPod touch with my laptop and it has great compatibility. Two things though, for excel, it would be awesome to be able to insert 3D charts, and full power-point compatibility(creating, editing, cropping and editing pictures, etc.) would be awesome too. Overall, I got everything I needed, and acme needs to keep up the awesome work! : )

I love this application. I think the desktop sync method of moving files back and forth is vastly superior to the "connect via browser" option offered by competitors. The sync is easy, smart -- for instance, files deleted on the iPhone are 'deselected' for sync on the desktop rather than deleted. As this is not a backup program, that makes sense. The file management is left to the desktop.
The editing screen is well designed. I could be a little faster popping up the keyboard. But hey.
My one suggestion -- and it's a big one -- is to implement some sort of method for applying Word styles. Even if it was just the built in heading/normal styles -- better to use all the embedded styles in a document inherited from the desktop template. They are obviously still there in the iPhone doc... since they survive synchronization. Let's have access to them.

I have a lot of text books on my iPhone in another app but that app doesn't have a find or search function so I cannot look up any words or passages and cannot possibly read through entire books to locate what I want. SOoooo I bought Documents to Go, copy and pasted the complete contents of a book into a Word document which I gave the same name, then saved it as a locally created file then when I opened it I searched for a word and was able to find all the occurences of it in the book. As I need I can copy any selection I need across to my email and send it to my colleagues!! Real cool. I don't have wifi so the copy across all apps saved my day. Now I can get to work and do some real research.

For keeping documents synced between your smart phone and your computer so that you have them at all times for meetings and on the go this app is great. You can change and write new word documents, save a copy and email them as needed. It does all it says in the company info and links to the iPhone with wifi. This is a great app. I have owned several of there products for over 8 years and they have all worked well and the company support is good.

For a few dollars I got a very powerful app that enables me to load complete folders of docs into the iphone just be selecting them in the desktop sync program (loaded >300 mb in one go via wifi). Previously had to load docs one at a time and then sort them into folders on the iphone with other viewing apps, or email them and read them on the viewer. The ability to edit word docs is a great advantage, and the wifi sync means I don't have to save them back to the laptop - they just update automatically. The formatting does get retained, and on the phone it is "wrapped" to make editing and viewing easy - just like in the Palm version of "dcos to go". Looking foward to the excel add on in the near future. A big advantage for this app would be a read-out loud on the iphone capability like you can do with pdf docs in adobe reader. This would take it to a new level and enable docs to be "listened to" through the iphone like audiobooks. I've searched through other apps, and can't seem to find one that enables "read out loud" of pdfs - this would make a truly excellent app "purfect".

For those of you that are worried about the pricetag I can tell you that $10 is the most I have ever paid for an app and I would have gladly paid more. If I were to nitpick this app I would say that the two improvements I would make are to add wireless printing and also make an option on the desktop app to run in the system tray so I can have it running always for easier syncing. I use it that much!

Finally able to synchronize MS Office, PDF, JPEG, etc between my MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS

First, let me share my background. I am a physician, and have used the MS Office software routinely since 1996. Since 2001, I have depended on carrying my MS Office files with me in 3 different HP iPaq Pocket PCs running different versions of Windows Mobile. I also like to have with me at all times medical diagrams that I have “cut and pasted” and scanned throughout my career. I used these files not only for my own reference, but for teaching purposes, too.
When I purchased my first iPhone, a 16GB 3G in Dec 2008, the one big thing that I knew I was giving up was the ability to easily “drag and drop” and synchronize MS Office files between the portable device and my computer. I have since succumbed to temptation and purchased the new 32GB iPhone 3GS. I am also using MacBook Pro as my main computer.
This “Documents To Go” application is, perhaps, the most important work-related application in my iPhone 3GS. I am now able to carry with me at all times a computer folder with my most important information. The folder synchronizes perfectly with the corresponding folder in my computer. Currently, Excel files cannot be edited in the iPhone, but Dataviz is making efforts to have this issue resolved.
Unlike the Windows Mobile PPC, this folder does not synchronize automatically upon connecting the PPC to the computer. Syncing needs to be performed manually. Also the connection between the computer and the iPhone needs to be done via a WiFi connection, and will not work via a physical connection with a USB cable.
Unlike the more expensive Exchange Attachments version, this cheaper version allows one to email files using webmail accounts like Yahoo! and Gmail. I switched to this cheaper version because of this email capability. BTW, during my switch, both DataViz and Apple were very helpful in refunding me the money I paid for the Exchange Attachments version.
In summary, as long as you have a WiFi connection and can wait for Dataviz to add Excel editing capabilities for the iPhone, I consider this to be the best program available to synchronize MS Office files, as well as PDFs, photos, JPGs, PNGs, BMPs, TIFs, GIFs, and HTM files between your computer and your iPhone using the simple “Drag and Drop” method.

This 10 bucks application (i bought it for five) essentially replaced microsoft word when i'm on the go with my little ipod. carrying a laptop is inconvenient and battery life is often short. obviously, it's not microsoft word, but when i'm on the bus, i can actually write essays (i've done it many times already). It has all the basic functions for me to compose literature for my english class.
my only concern is that the available viewing space in landscape mode is too small, especially when all the toolbars are on. i hope engineers at dataviz can somehow figure out ways to more efficiently use the screen, and cram in more workable space. Other than that, it's one of the most useful apps which makes my ipod a laptop alternative.

FINALLY!! An app that purports to enable editing documents on both iPhone and desktop Mac and syncing the results between the two THAT ACTUALLY WORKS AS ADVERTISED!! It even works on my lousy home wifi network :). The app provides a broad range of editing capabilities for both text (Word) and spreadsheet documents, and syncing is near instantaneous. Easily one of the top three apps on my iPhone - you guys rock!!

I bought this for work so I could take it to meetings and update documents without having to lug my laptop around. It was a toss up between this and Quickoffice. I chose this because it seemed to have more editing features. This app worked flawlessly and synced very easily with my mac. Transferring files was very easy to do. Can't wait for future updates and hope more features will be added. One thing I do wish was possible is the ability to save and edit email attachments. I don't have an exchange account an am not sure why Apple won't allow it. Overall, however, a great app. Highly recommended!!

I used to have it on my Palm for editing and writing my word notes.
But when I switched on ipod Touch, i dearly missed it. iFiles was okay but the syncing was erratic and i couldn't edit anything. Now I'm so happy, I can't live without it. The desktop syncing works great, the speed is good when you organize your files in seperate folders and the editing works great with landscape keyboard. The only missing thing now is a bluetooth keyboard so i can write notes during class!

An MS Office Must Have for iPhone and iPod Touch

This was just the application I was waiting for, to bring my office files right to my IPOD Touch. Now I have all my recipes, yes, my recipes, with me at all times. Well, we are not all the same. Docs To Go is seamless in syncing with my MAC. The only "I would love to have' is access to my Entourage mail attachments.
Initially, I got confused and purchased the edition with MS Exchange, only to realize I could not use it. But, at this low price it was not really an issue.
Email technical help was amazing, fast turnaround, knowledgeable, and very friendly. A real plus.

Now with Excel edit capabilities, its a great app. This is on the first page of my apps and ibises it all the time. Thanks DataViz. Now can you support MP3 from within the app? I have a few Mp3 that goes with a few PDF I have, it would be great if I can keep them all in one location. Past comment:I was reluctant to buy it in the beginning. At least it had Wifi sync with desktop. Now email capability - which works great. OS 3.0 copy/Paste. It's a useful app. Waiting for XLS. Web based sync would make my files available any where - won't it be great if it can be uploaded / downloaded to google doc. With those two feature it will be a 5 star app.

Documents-to-Go was my favorite and most useful app on my Palm. My inability to find an iphone app that matched Documents-to-Go made me regret my switch almost daily. Now, I am all smiles because Documents-to-Go has helped me become more organized; my agenda book for work is slim and manageable because many of my needed documents are on my iphone. I am able to keep my work and mileage reports up-to-date, and email them from my iphone. Also, this app has helped with my blood pressure because when I am delayed or waiting for appointments, I can open my To-Be-Read folder that I created and catch up on my readings. Thanks DataViz! You guys definitely rock!

The addition of Excel editing puts it on par with Quickoffice. The developers have been very good about updating the software and adding new features. From the initial release, they've added the ability to change fonts and sizes, the ability to edit Excel files, and a very nice full screen mode. Overall, it's great, except for a few minor things:More fonts and sizes would be nice. Copying/pasting pictures doesn't work. Limited formatting for spreadsheet cells.
