Description:
** 50% discount ** - Limited time only You no longer need to carry around a USB memory stick to copy and share files from one computer to another. Instead, turn your iPhone or iPod Touch into a wifi drive using File Sharing. File Sharing allows you to easily transfer files to and from your iPhone or iPod Touch over your Wi-Fi connection by accessing it as if it were a drive, from within Windows Explorer or Finder. If you prefer, you can also upload and download files from your web browser. What is more, once the files are on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can view them, making your device a portable file viewer. File Sharing can view the following file types: • Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx) • Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx, .csv) • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt) • PDF Files (.pdf) • iWork Pages documents (.pages) • Safari Web Archives (.webarchive) • Web Pages (.htm, .html) • Text Files (.txt, .cpp, .c, .m, .h) • Graphic Files (.bmp, .gif, .png, .jpg) • Movie files (.mp4, .mov) You can also use File Sharing to watch movies. Just copy a .mp4 or .mov file into File Sharing and its ready for you to view. If you use File Sharing to view large documents, File Sharing will remember the last page you viewed and will scroll straight to that page the next time you open the document.

Reviews:
Excellent app By: Binx1310 - 23-Jan-2009 Version: 1.1 For people moaning about not having wifi, what centuary are you living in! Where doesn't have wireless. I use this with ad hoc wifi connection on my laptop and with wifi networks anywhere. Works on by openzone hot spots etc.
Things that need updating:
•UI in a browser is a bit bland
•Ability to create folders with the browser interface and in the app itself.
•Support for more file types (office 2007) mainly.
•Support for videos (formatted for QuickTime to so will play from app.) . Would allow watching videos without using the clunky itunes transfer.
But overall, good app!
UPDATE
this app now supports video, well done developers! This is now PERFECT!
Works great to overcome iPhone limitation By: 2Much_coffee - Apr 9, 2009 Version: 1.2 Access to pdf, doc, txt and xls files is not native business for the iPhone. But this app allows you to at least read them. If you will use your browser to access the ip address given in the app, you can easily access the app and transfer files to it. Some windows computers prevent creating a network drive (well, not prevent but throw up so many roadblocks that achieves the same effect) that access via a browser is the easiest way. Simply type in the ip such as 192.168.1.113:8080 (be sure to use the address provided by the app in your iPhone. The app will also recognize phone numbers in doc files and allow dialing out by tapping. This makes the iPhone a lot more useful for business purposes and worth the cost.
It Does Work By: nostrumuva - Apr 7, 2009 Version: 1.2 For all you other 1337 people out there who actually know c++ and know that an IP is something other than intellectual property, but you don't want to gamble on this based on all the random reviews here that possibly look spammed, I assure you that it does work. So far I've tested from firefox and IE, and it also has a standard username/password setting although I'm not familiar with the "WebDAV" protocol, so not sure if it is just plaintext or encrypted.
Awesome! By: aszman - Mar 14, 2009 Version: 1.1 I don't know what some people here are complaining about. I lost my old memory stick and Today I was in a hurry and needed to put some files on my iPhone to take home from work. So I downloaded this app, went to the ip address it said to use, browsed fir the files I wanted and uploaded them to my phone. I was done in about 5 minutes and uploaded about 20 files. Plus I can open all the files and see them on my phone. No problem, super easy. I guess one sticking point is you have to be on wifi for it to work. It transfers files over the air instead of via a cord. No problem for me but could be an issue for some. That is probably the reason for the negative reviews.
It Works! By: roweder - Feb 25, 2009 Version: 1.1 This is a great app, you can use your iPod as a shared drive just like a server on your network. The only thing you have to remember is that this app has to be open in order for you to put files on and take files off your iPod. I believe that with it's latest update, there is a setting that doesn't let your iPod fall asleep while the app is open. I have it and it says sleep: on/off and I believe that if you set sleep to off, then when that application is open and only then, your iPod will not fall asleep. Also remember that you need to have wifi. I've used this several times to bring files too and from school, as long as the teachers know that I'm using the iPod as a memory stick, they're okay with me having it out while I work. Also, with this app, you can view microsoft word documents and a few other formatts, I believe that adobe and powerpoint are also viewable as well as a few others. I just noticed today that when you are looking at word documents you can turn the iPod to the side and it will turn the text, and you can also zoom into the text. I highly reccomend this app.
Also, I would like to remind everyone who is thinking of buying this app that if you check the box in iTunes that says "enable disk use" then the iPod can be used as an external drive through the USB port and iPod cable.
Well that was easy! By: Sr.Paul - Feb 21, 2009 Version: 1.1 So I read the reviews and the negatives were winning. However, I needed something like this. The one I have been using requires you to modify the computer setup and it's a pain to take files to other places. Memory Stick on the other hand is very simple to use in comparison. The first thing I tried is all the connection types it offered (they worked) Then I loaded it's promised file types. (they opened) Then I loaded a large (300 mb) non-supported file type. (it didn't open ... Who cares! I was able to download it on a computer downtown and that is what I wanted.) The name should be 'Virtual Memory Stick' and it could have better access options and wifi but for now it does what it says.
Perfect By: Nino305 - Feb 6, 2009 Version: 1.1 I has wondered if this would work like everyone said. However I was worried by some bad reviews. I just downloaded the app and it does everything perfect. I loaded tons of PDF formats and word files to see how it works and I think it is great. Yeah sure they could add some great features. But for now I am very happy. I am really suprised it was so cheap. I bought some other apps and deleted right a way.
Worked the first time! By: EvilTimmy - Jan 1, 2009 Version: 1.0 ...and that's saying something for this kind of app.
Mapped a Windows drive to it, copied some files, and they were instantly on my iPhone for viewing. I tried a JPG, DOC, and PDF and they were all viewable.
Only hitch is that your iPhone has to be awake to do the transfer but I'm sure that's the case with any of the wireless file managers.
I got it when it was free so can't complain about the price.
Very good app By: Dc4460 - 14-May-2009 Version: 1.2 I downloaded and installed it no problems. I transferred small and large files with no problem. The only problem I have is that not everywhere has WIFI. So imagine you get to the office after trying this at home and you have files you want to download and you can't because there is no WIFI. There should be an option to transfer files via USB in instances like this.
Apart from that niggley problem IRS a very good app and a good idea.
Great App By: XArt UK - 10-Apr-2009 Version: 1.2 This application for turning your iPhone into a device to use like a memory stick dose the job very well and allows offline html, js etc to be placed on iPhone so is very good for offline AJAX web apps apart from the remaining top blue bar at the top, if it was to be made so that if a html document was being viewed in full screen with a small say icon on the top right it would look better as a tool for offline web apps. This app dose what it says it will do and is very simple to use and for the cost of a USB pen drive v Memory Stick I would go for Memory Stick than a USB pen drive any day as you can view your files as well as storing them.

This is a truly useful application By: pohopetch - 28-Feb-2009 Version: 1.1 Works exactly as advertised (I'm on a iPod touch). The ability to view images, Excel spreadsheets and Word docs from within the folder structure is great. Great support and quick response to bug on transferring very large files (500Mb). Combine this with an iPod ftp client and as an IT support person you have everything you need for remote support. You can carry all your utilities and files around on the iPod and get them on and off to client machines very easily. Highly recommended.
Great addition to my iphone By: Mjb.chez.v - 07-Feb-2009 Version: 1.1 This is the first time i have been able to store excel and word docs on my iphone which is handy
The fact you can watch movies on it is the icing on the cake. You can sort your movies into folders which you cant do on itune
The only thing i really want this app to do is allow me to scroll through my pictures while im viewing them rather than having to return to the folder and click the next one.
As Expected--One Flaw By: 1B9P7H7 - May 14, 2009 Version: 1.2 The app. has worked well for me. There is one flaw in the design, and it is that you must transport data file by file rather than having the ability to move whole folders. Also, the website on which you transport files from your computer to your iPhone does not always cooperate. However, the fact that you can transport things such as MS Word documents wirelessly, and using any web browser, is a huge benefit. I do not have to carry a thumbdrive, nor do I ever plug anything into the computer--very convenient for campus computer labs, as it is all done online. The website always works in the end, despite communication time-outs. I am giving it four stars because there are only two issues that do not work for me: the inability to transport folders like a normal thumbrdrive, and the buggyness of the website used in transporting data. Another great feature is that you are able to view, in pdf. form, the files on the iPhone itself, which is something that normal thumbdrives cannot do.
Good app, a little slow. By: MikefromFlorida - Apr 21, 2009 Version: 1.2 I was a little put off by the bad reviews I read, but I liked the listed features, and having a built in pdf viewer as well as the ability to transfer those files to and from my laptop is a must. Reading the ip address of my Ipod touch and mapping that as a drive on my PC was easy. Dragging and dropping the files was a snap. The files copy slowly, but it works and I now have rounded out the last of the apps I needed for my new Ipod. Nice job, it could use some work maybe on the speed of the file copy, but I have no idea if this is a hardware issue or software. Thanks a lot!
Worked out great for me By: BAKslider - Feb 25, 2009 Version: 1.1 I have downloaded tons of e-books in PDF format and was having problems using them with Touch 2.x. This little app appears to do exactly what it says it does. For data it is still easier for me to use a USB jump drive without clogging my pod but for Acrobat files this will be great at the beach. iPod is not a jump drive but this will serve in a pinch for small files. Caveate - basic computer skills are required.
Awsome App if you read what it is used for By: good app for .pdf - Feb 25, 2009 Version: 1.1 I think a lot of the reviews bad mouthing this product are from people who literally thought this program was going to make there iPhone a "memory stick". They obviously didn't read the product description. This is a great product if you need to view .pdf or word (.doc) file types. However, when trying to view .ppt file types it crashes the iPhone. So if you need to view pdf or text documents its awsome, and for $2 it might just be worth to get.
Confusing at first but... By: just a california kid - Feb 23, 2009 Version: 1.1 I purchased this just because i thought it looked pretty cool. I was skeptical after seeing the reviews, but did it anyways. It is a little confusing to setup, but all you need to do is type the adress it gives you into your web browser and it will pull up. As long as you have a wifi connection, it is pretty simple once you get to the right web page. Remember, just type in the individual web page it gives you and it's simple from there
Does what it's supposed to By: Ohhhdear - Feb 4, 2009 Version: 1.1 With my wifi connection, all I needed to do was type the iPhone URL (given on the app's info page) into my browser's window. Connection was instantaneous and it transferred .HTML and .PDF files flawlessly. I finally have my SLR camera manual complete with pix available.
Yes, there's a few minor issues which really don't bother me much because with this app I don't have to carry around a thumb drive anymore. Thanks!
Jump to page. By: Virtual Pariah - Feb 3, 2009 Version: 1.1 I've had no problem with this getting my files to upload, although it can be a little slow sometimes.
My only gripe is that I use this for very large, sometimes image heavy, PDFs, and it has a tendancy to crash on me, usually because I need to get to page 70 in a 90 page book. I think if there was a way to 'jump to page' it wouldn't crash so much, and I wouldn't end up wasting all my time getting to page 70 to have it crash, again, and again, and again.
Good App By: Snitches - Jan 25, 2009 Version: 1.1 First, I would like to share that I got this app for free with app sniper :D. Now then, it's a cool app but it still has a few flaws. I am currently using it as an e-book reader, and I appreciate the recent update that saves the page, but it often saves the wrong page. It usually saves the page 13 or so pages ahead of the page I was on, but it only does so on large pdf files, and usually only when I open it in portrait mode and then switch to landscape. Another annoying feature is that if you accidentally hit the bar at the top of the page, it takes you all the way to the beginning of the document, and you have to scroll all the way back to the page you were on. A feature which would kill two birds with one stone would be a go-to-page function.
