Impressssed By: Ben_jamn - 28-May-2009 Version: 1.3.1 Was sceptical at first because there are so many of these apps. Spent a whole week looking and trying others.
Can't see without glasses so I need to view in magnified mode. This app allows me to view text files without left/right scrolling. In other words ... "Text wrap". Great feature.
Would like to see multy color highlighting feature in upcoming versions. Keep the changes coming.
I will upgrade to full version. Worth the money to support them.

Must-have App! By: iPod Buddy - 14-Jan-2009 Version: 1.2.1 This app has retired my pocket PC. I've been used to drag and drop to transfer files and thought I had lost it with the touch - even resorted to embedding smaller text docs into bogus contacts to allow a sync. I should have gone thru the available app descriptions more careful because I missed this one at first and started to do work-arounds. Used for mid size .doc, .pdf, and xls file types.
The Best for me By: Optional Bob - Jul 7, 2009 Version: 1.3.2 Pictures zoom pretty nicely with double tap, also you can swipe from one to the next. “.rtfd” comes through with only the 1st picture and all the text, other pictures don’t show. PDF pictures zoom to full width only. PDF Text is tiny. For pictures it's better than all the others I saw, for RTF and PDF it's just as good. The main reason that I got it is to hold and display about 2 gigs of pics that iTunes was converting to 12 gigs of photos. I don't need my file sizes blown all to heck, filling up the phone for no apparent benefit.
simple and useful By: kyle kyle kyle - Feb 23, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 It does what it should do--which is transfer files between the ipod touch/ iphone and desktops/ laptops. The instructions are not too complex and the program has a nice interface. people should not give this program one star because they do not know how to use it-- it is absurd to rate the quality of a program based on its perceived complex instructions. compared to its competitors, (which all have the same file transfer scheme) it is above average and free. It does exactly what it says- and there are no misleading descriptions. Read how to use an application before purchasing or downloading it please. Im tired of seeing hard working developer's programs being ignorantly criticized because the users are too lazy or unintelligent to learn how use them-- this is causing a negative dip in their sales-- please read what you are downloading before you download it.
this app is great! By: tdanr - Feb 17, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 i thought that this app was really really great! it works like it is supposed to. i have tried similar apps that were a complete waste of time and money but this one really works. i strongly recommend it. i see ppl complaining about the storage capacity but come on guys its free! wat more do you want. if you need more space you can go ahead and purchase the pro. i think that if anyone is looking to get an app that is free and works well you've found it with this app.
Why so many bad reviews? It's a GREAT app! By: estro_pajo - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 I'm bewildered that the avg score for this app is two stars. It does all that it should and it's doing it brilliantly! First of, I've been looking for a good, free file browser for my iPhone for some time now. I've been reading reviews and none of the avaiable programs seemed even half decent. After a while I've decided to download all file browsers from the 'Top Free Apps' category a try them myself. I must say that 'Files Lite' is a clear winner! Not only it supports the largest number of files (ie Discovery couldn't open a simple .rtf) but it's the simplest to work with and transfer files in and out and on top of that the interface looks better than in the other apps. Not by a huge deal, but I've liked it more (simple, minimalistic, but all the functions are there). So what do Files Lite do? So far I've got full support for my files in MS Word format as well as Pages (something Windows OS can't do – lol), fancy .pdf files as well as simple .rtf files and spreadsheets in Numbers (I did not checkMS Excel yet, but I think it should do all right). The text is nicely wrapped to fit the screen if it's .rtf, .doc, pages or .pdf, we can tilt the phone if we want to go 'wide-screen', and zooming works perfectly, with no delay or any other problems whatsoever. Whe we zoom the text is not wrapped of course (wrapping occurs only when we're in the deafult overview, but even then the font is big enough to read it easily) and we can pan across the document as we see fit. Also I think it's worth noting that it's the only file browser for iPhone that shows the page number [ie '2 of 14'] when viewing .pdf files in the upper left corner. I find it helpful, because it prevents me from getting lost when viewing lage documents. There is the 200MB limit but I don't think it is a problem. I don't see myself putting all the documents from my HDD to my iPhone, why would I do that? I want to keep files I might want to use as a reference at some point and maybe utilize my iPhone as a mobile storage, but that's it. And all those needs are being well served by this app. I'm amazed how many file types it supports and I can recommend it to you wholeheartedly. Try it out, seriously...
Really great and east to install! By: jorono - Jan 25, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 I randomly decided to but this app just to see if I could manage to get it set up. My hopes weren't high, since I do everything through a Dell, but I got the app set up in less than a minute (by following the included instructions for Windows). It started working instantly, too. I was moving files to the iPod folder on my network and as I would transfer the file on the computer it would pop up on my iPod right away. And, best of all, it's free!
It works! Period. By: F.Bayona21 - Jan 19, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 I've always been wary of these file transfering apps because they always get such horrible reviews, but I decided to try Files lite today (because I wanted to carry around a pdf of my class schedule) and it works beautifully! The pdf displayed perfectly and the setup was actually really simple; it only took 2 minutes to properly set up file sharing between my iPod touch and my iBook. So far the whole program is very intuitive and easy to use. I'll probably bump up to the pay version if/when I run out of space. :)
WHY CAN'T I STORE GROUPS OF APPS UNDER ONE ICON By: bjune - Jan 3, 2009 Version: 1.2.1 WHY CAN'T I STORE GROUPS OF APPS UNDER ONE ICON doesn't apple want me to own four hundred and fifty paid-for apps?????? i don the devs do. but nine screens won't hold that much. so what....do i juggle these always needed apps with the long list of check boxes within itunes??? hell no! come on apple!!!! you're letting everyone wifi share/gps tweak/fake call.......sheet. let a whigga group an app. still jailbroken with categories. go figure....

Its worth $10 By: Crosscrescent - Dec 9, 2008 Version: 1.2 Im not sure why people are having problems, it worked on my mac and pc within a few mins (vista + leopard). And im not an expert on anything. (i just follwed the simple instructions)This app saved me alot of time and trouble because it had to replace my blackberry's file viewer for a few days. Thank you so much and i will be buying the full version.
I do have a suggestion though. IS THERE ANY WAY you could make it possible to not only view but edit word files? Or have some functionality like "find" because i work with 50+ pages alot and a find function like the blackberry would be awesome
Lite but Lean, Stable and Usable By: Deponz - 22-Nov-2008 Version: 1.2 Even if its Lite, i dont mind using it, 200 MB is just enough for me to store my days worth of PDF ebooks and Documents that I want to read. The thing that I like about it is, whenever I am using it to view my documents and I am not connected to WIFI, it doesn't sneak cellular traffic thus, it does NOT EAT UP on my GPRS/3G monthly data plan. It's lite, Stable. Lean, and still Usuable and way enough for my Needs! considering that is it Free and Ads Free Wish List -wish they put a slider / quick jump feature when viewing PDFs or Document files so that you dont need to flick all the pages just to get to the specific page you want to read -ability to upload files via it's web interface (like Discover and Airsharing)
A must have for every iphone/touch By: pharm resident - Nov 23, 2008 Version: 1.1 I have been using this application since I got my ipod touch 1 month ago. I carry my class notes and pdf's of journals and guideline on it (average size 700-1500KB), and it still has a plenty of storage remaining. It has a good user interface, it is ad-free, and it works well. It is worth it as a free and as a paid application. I will probablly purchase if I need to store bigger files. Highly recommended.
Great App By: Afituil - Nov 8, 2008 Version: 1.1 I was mainly looking for a free app that could support PDF files - being 2 bus map schedules, and files lite does exactly that. The whole networking process was confusing at first but that was completely my mistake so I can't deduct any stars for that. Only thing is, as with all large single page PDF files, it takes a while for it to process (I usually try and avoid large PDF files altogether) - this was the case with the NYC Subway map. All in all, I am LOVING the fact that I can now check my bus schedules on the go. I am having no trouble yet with the 200 MB limit since I'm not even using 600 KB. GREAT APP. THANK YOU OLIVE TOAST.
Should be included by Apple By: PrinceGaz - 04-Jun-2009 Version: 1.3.1 This app provides functionality that should be a standard part of every iPhone/iTouch; the ability to transfer documents from a computer to and from your portable device and view those documents on it is very useful (being able to edit them would be even better, though that would require a full-blown office software suite to be included as standard, rather than the document viewers the device comes with which are normally used when opening those file-types from Safari or Mail). This Lite version does have a 200MB limitation to the total size of all files currently on the device, but that is very generous imo as most document files are only a few MB at most, and many are well under one MB. I've currently got 27 spreadsheets on my iTouch and their total size is less than 1MB, so I still have over 199MB for anything else I might add. Transferring files from Windows XP was a breeze for me using the included step-by-step instructions, and if the instructions included with the app aren't enough for you, there is a lot more help on their website. So long as you have a wireless network you already connect your device to, when you turn on Files Lite's included server, the 200MB of space can be accessed over your wireless LAN just like any other folder and files and folders can be copied to or from, deleted, folders created etc from your computer. You can then navigate those folders and view files in them easily from Files Lite. This is one of four apps I've moved to the lower permanent section of the screen, replacing one of the iTouch's original apps there, such is its usefulness.
Files LIte By: RecoJohnson - 28-Nov-2009 Version: 1.4.1 This program is very useful. it has very fast transfer rates and has a very simple but effective webinterface. You are very intellegent limiting the amount of storage unless you buy it, that is perfect for limiting people. The only thing i wish is you could put your files into a different folder that you transfer. like an ipod folder instead of a random folder on the ipod that is secluded. Still is an awesome program. I keep showing it to all my dads friends and they are amazed! Great Job!
Perfect By: kokomoman - 26-Nov-2009 Version: 1.4.1 This application is one of the only File Viewing Apps in the App store that is Free and that also does exactly what it says it does and with a TON of variety. The online interface is clean, easy to use and very effective. Nothing could have been more simple. Now I don't have to worry about converting my RTF books into PDB (which is basically impossible btw) to be able to read them on my iPhone. I dislike paying for an app before I can see what it can do, or if it is even possible for it to do what I want. So now that I know what this App will do...where can I donate?
Freakin handy! By: Doozer03 - Oct 20, 2009 Version: 1.4 I love this app! I do construction inspections and this app allows me to have all of my drawings and files in my pocket. I never have to run back to the truck to look something up. I only kept one star off because the adhoc wifi is complicated to make work. I'd look into using the Bluetooth connectivity for a back up when there's no wifi server around. But this app is a must have, and it works like a wifi flash drive! Just freaking handy!
Does what it say's By: kovacev - 01-Dec-2008 Version: 1.2 Works nicely.
Works on any os without installing extra software, if anyone is having trouble go to there site. They have very detailed instructions that will help the absoulute novice.
I have some requests.
Would like a bit more stability on transferring 100+ meg files.
And also maybe for pro version to allow you to connect to servers over 3G etc.
If that's possible.
Thankyou.
Will buy Pro version soon :)
Just what i wanted. By: scottac - 01-Dec-2008 Version: 1.2 All i want is to put a few PDF's, spreadsheets and Word documents on my iTouch and be able to read them offline. PERFECT !!! I followed the instructions and although i didn't quite understand what i was doing it worked as stated. Thanks. Problem solved !!! I played around with the whole MobileMe iDisk thing and although it worked it was overkill for my requirement. So, if you want what i wanted, this is the app for you.
