Simple. Easy. For those wondering what it does, it merely provides a template for you to write your letter in landscape mode. When you hit "send to mobile mail", it open's the iPhones' mail app and you see your letter in portrait. Why apple doesn't just add this feature is beyond me. Only downside? You can't use this to reply to an email.Thanks for making this and giving it away for free. At the very least I hope it sends the message to apple to simply incorporate your features into their native program.

As a new member to the iPhone family I am so glad Santa dropped this under my tree. I've owed and used many PDA's and smartphones most recently transitioning from a Blackberry there were reservations about my iPhone. After a quick visit to the ap store and install of many "FREE" applications including this one I am off to the races. For those who say they do not like the application because it defaults to your default mail account just look at your sender info click on and choose the correct account before sending an e-mail that should originate from a sub/auxillary address.This is not an Apple application so it does not work in unison but it's a great alternative for us quick typers.

Good for Composing E-Mail but no good for Replying

This program is very good for composing and sending text to the Mail application. The larger keys in landscape mode make it much easier to use 'two thumb' typing. However, after trying several times I cannot get Firemail to reply to e-mail (as described on the iTunes page). Firemail's creator should give more detailed, step by step, instructions on how this feature is supposed to work.
Has anybody got it to work for replying to e-mail? If so please post detailed instructions.

This is a great application especially for free. I am now able to send emails that I would never consider before because of their length and difficulty of typing on the smaller keyboard. The only issue I have concerns replying to Yahoo emails. Typically a small arrow appears next to the original email once a reply is written for it. However, this does not seem to be the case when using Firemail. I would love to see a patch so I could verify that I have replied to certain emails in my Inbox.

The only thing I don't like about this app is that it does not show up in your sent folder on an iMac unless you right click your sent folder and choose synch. Other then that this is a great app!! Thanks!!! Also, you can not write an email, and then send it the mail app and save it as a draft, once you have gone into your mail app and hit cancel, it just disappears. So make sure if you going to send it to the mail app you're ready to send it right away! I look forward to what they possibly add in future updates.

So far I am very impressed with Firemail. It is a lot easier to type a long email message this way (more comfortable, less mistakes). There needs to be a little more documentation of its functionality though. For instance DO NOT ANSWER IF SOMEONE CALLS YOU WHILE YOU ARE TYPING IN FIREMAIL because your entire message will be gone when you hang up that call. Instead DECLINE the call and you can finish your message safely. There is no Auto-Save feature; this is part of what separates this app from the other 99 cent apps.
Replying to emails does work fine if you follow the instructions others have laid out here. There is also a Bookmark feature which lets you save your text into a clipboard for later use. This is very useful for custom signatures. You just save your sig as a bookmark and then at the end of your messages you just select the Bookmark icon, select your sig, and then press the Insert button.
I would recommend this software, it works great, but remember not to answer those calls while you're using it!

Great free app that definitely helps me and my stubby fingers :P

This is a nice App that I have been using for about a week now and is definately helpful. Well worth the download, it's free and helps greatly. If only apple included this natively in the first place :(
Works great for people like me who don;t have those delicate small fingers, but big stubby ones. Landscape makes it so much easier to type with far fewer typos than holding it portrait. Just as the description and instructions mention, it works for both new emails and replying emails. To use this for replying to an email, it does take a few extra 'clicks' but it helps in the long run so it's not that much of a bother.
Too bad this is only for the mail client, I would love it if it was available for things like the calendar and SMS, but maybe someone else or even Apple will make this available in the future :)

What I like:- Does what other apps do, but for free.- Clean interface, simple to use.- Bookmarks that let you save what you're working on and come back to it later.What I don't like:- On an iPhone, the headphone cable gets in the way of my left hand when typing - and flipping the phone doesn't rotate the interface. :(- No auto-save, if you get a text or a call in the middle of typing, you have to bookmark first.
