Category: Productivity
Rating: rating 6(107)
Version: 2.1
Size: 0.1 MB

Price:  Free

Description:

+++++++ It's a must for any Gmail fan. ++++++++
A native gmail app that not only launches fast, but also takes full advantage of the greatnesses of your beloved iPhone/iPod Touch, e.g. you can shake to select all mails at once.
Please leave a review as we're keeping our ears open and will keep improving it as promised.
FEATURES:
=========
- All original mobile Gmail features are supported, such as threading, stars, labels, auto-completion etc. plus a long list of additions...
- It's highly optimized for heavy emailer and loads up super fast.
- (NEW) Display number of unread mails with icon badge
- (NEW) You may use iGmail with Google Apps account now (in-app purchase)
- (NEW) PUSH notification when new mails arrived (in-app purchase)
- Shake the iPod/iPhone to select/deselect all mails in current folder to perform batch actions, such as archiving, deleting etc.
- Working on your mails even without a network connection! (Note in order to activate the offline mode, you need to check "remember me" box on when login) You may compose emails in offline mode and they will be sent the next time iGmail is launched when network is available.
- Visit links/attachments in email without leaving your mailbox thanks to the embedded full screen browser.
- Translucent and retractable on-screen-dashboard (OSD) that provides navigations to the previous/next mail, jump to the very top/bottom or go back one level up in one quick click.
- Whenever you are writing, the draft email is stored automatically, you don't need to worry about losing your draft due to accidentally press of the home button.
- 2X larger text editing area than the one provided by mobile Gmail in Safari. Also allows 2-finger-swipe gesture to scroll through the text area for viewing larger content clipped by the screen.
- Full-screen design maximizes the use of screen real estate which gives you up to 40% more (in landscape mode) than the web Gmail in Safari. You may also turn off the google toolbar and system status bar to make the working area even larger.
- Have you ever fought to stable the device in your hand to read emails in bed? iGmail helps here by locking the rotation on the top and right side, in other words it only rotates to landscape when the left side is tilting down.
NOTE:
======
- Only recent emails in inbox are automatically cached for offline viewing due to speed and space concern.
TIPS:
======
- Click the "desktop" link at the bottom of your Inbox will give you access to the full desktop version of Gmail in a temporary browser view, which could be convenient for certain HTML encoded emails when the embedded images get stripped off by google due to security concern.
- Visit the "choose contacts" in composing page at least once while you are online, the recent contacts will be automatically stored for auto-completion when you compose emails offline.

Finally a practical gmail solution!!  rating of iGmail
By: canucan - Oct 14, 2009
Version: 1.0
I've been waiting for a native gmail client ever since the 1st day with my iPhone. I just can't get used to the iphone mail, guess I was spoiled by the gmail on PC. I've tried almost every gmail app in store but this is the only one makes me happy. 1st it loads way faster than appGmail, which was my no.1 concern as I can't stand waiting 20 seconds every time before reading my mails. The translucent menu is a genius solution that saves tons of my finger swipes and makes email browsing painless. And the autosave draft is something google should have done in their mobile version - I was forced to retype a long report to my boss using web gmail when safari suddenly crashed. And thank God it even let me archive all mails so easily with a shake and click, which was a real pain when using all the others including the default mail app on iPhone. And it's such a joy now to read email attachments, you will notice the developer does put great efforts in making a better gmail for us and this is *not* a simple clone of web gmail as most others. Developers, please keep up the great job and bring us the push, then I'll write to Steve Jobs to ask him use it as the default mail app on iPhone. ;-)To previous reviewer, the landscape mode is available only when you rotate the phone to the left, which is another convenient when reading in bed. I personally likes it better than using a rotation lock button as seen in other apps.

Great app!  rating of iGmail

This app is awesome. Some of the features are extremely useful, like their navigation buttons. Why gmail has always put the reply only at the bottom is beyond me, but with one button I can scroll all the way to the bottom to reply. Also, offline is HUGE!!!Feature requests:1. Push notifications like PushGmail2. Faster loading3. Ability to have the program open with the navigation buttons compressed

An Amazing App that is a no brainer for the Gmail user  rating of iGmail

I previously used mobile me, but switched to Gmail because it was free and offered the same features. The free AppGmail iPhone app is okay if you have a WiFi internet connection, but is slow on 3G. The iGmail app is the best solution for the Gmail user. It is native on the iPhone, which means that you do not need to have connection to the internet in order to use this app. Alternatively, you will need internet connect to use AppGmail. In short, iGmail makes email fun again.
***Idemfactor Solutions --> You asked for recommendations. I have one for you. Please, please, PLEASE (pretty please) bring Google Calendar and Tasks to this application. Thank you!

Love it!  rating of iGmail

Very usable. The toolbar makes it even better! I would like to be able to choose my 2 most used buttons for the floating button bar. Maybe you could allow a way to swap them so folks could put less frequently used options under the More menu. Otherwise, no complaints. Works great!

This program load really fast. Like the menu on the screen. This work great with G-Push. Eventhough google offer push email, I need the exchange service for my job. This program is great alternative.

Just what I needed  rating of iGmail

iGmail does exactly what it says it does and I have now replaced the iPhone Mail bottom icon with iGmail and use iGmail all the time now. Goodbye iPhone Mail.

It's ok  rating of iGmail
By: Zak Saber - Oct 10, 2009
Version: 1.0
It needs push and if you want to attract more people to this app how about adding support to attach images from camera roll and save images to camera roll. I've never used an gmail app that loaded as fast as this one. Nice. I think the see through arrows are really annoying. I can't stand them and hate hiding them all the time.

Almost perfect  rating of iGmail
By: DJEaton - Oct 9, 2009
Version: 1.0
With the addition of push notifications, this would be practically perfect in every way. I love the ability to write email offline and easily label my mail. Only other thing I would add besides PUSH is a "send and archive" option. I'd forgo that though if it would add push notifications. :)

Needs landscape mode  rating of iGmail

Composing email without landscape option is no fun. Otherwise a good/simple way to access Gmail without the browser. Good app

Good Start  rating of iGmail
By: aattiapty - Oct 17, 2009
Version: 1.0
This app is a good start towards perfect Gmail on the iPhone. However it is not there yet until it provides the following:1) Push notifications when new email arrives. 2) App badge update when an email is read on the PC. 3) More stability4) Even faster load times5) Ability to disable the transparent toolbar

Best of available gmail apps  rating of iGmail
By: Landon White - Oct 16, 2009
Version: 1.0
As of mid October 2009, this is the best of the available gmail offerings on the App Store. It could use a little more polish, but it works great as is. I'm excited to see the developer is active and some of the future plans for this app are great.Thanks!
