Description:

iNote is a feature rich note taking application yet easy to use and responsive. You can hierarchically organize your notes by creating folders and subfolders that can be password-protected, can sync notes with Google Docs, can register frequently used text to customizable clipboard, etc., while most operations are accessible within few taps.
[ Core Data Application ]
iNote employs Core Data as its backend data processing engine. Core Data is a data management framework Apple originally developed for the Mac, which is now enhancing reliability, performance, memory efficiency, etc. on the iPhone. The combination of Core Data and folder architecture is especially effective when the number of notes increases.
[ Note viewing/editing features ]
• Cut, copy and paste.
• Customizable clipboard (Screenshot #5): You can register frequently used words and phrases to customizable clipboard as many as you like, to insert them by just one tap.
• One tap date and time insertion (Screenshot #5): The customizable clipboard also offers real-time generated date and time clips, allowing you to insert them by just one tap.
• Keyboard-ready quick-add note: You can start writing a new note right away just by tapping “+” “Quick” buttons.
• Full-screen view-only mode (Screenshot #4): You can open a note with full-screen view-only mode by tapping "No Edit" icon. Full-screen viewing mode disables keyboard so that you are not disturbed reading a note, and it turns URLs and email addresses clickable.
• Wide range of available font size: From 8 to 256 points, modifiable note by note.
• Orientation lock: You can select screen orientation among "Auto Rotation", "Portrait Only", and "Landscape Only".
[ Note organizing features ]
• Folders and subfolders with no hierarchical limit.
• Rename and reorder notes and folders as you like, and move them to any folder.
• Create a copy of a note by just one tap.
• Incremental note and folder search by their name and note text.
• Hide (password-protect) selected notes and folders. Hidden notes and folders are excluded from search, when they are hidden.
[ Note sharing features ]
• Email note. You can also edit mail subject (note title) inside the note view so that you don’t need to move to other view to complete email.
• Google Docs download, upload, and sync
You can download, upload, and sync note with Google Docs. Also you can add, remove, and edit note on Google server from iNote by turning “Direct Edit” option on.
<< Note 1 >> iNote handles plain text data alone and format and image data in Google Docs file are discarded when they are downloaded to iNote. If downloading file includes such data, please turn off “Direct Edit” in order not to sync (overwrite) the original file. Uploaded note from iNote can always be synced regardless of “Direct Edit” option setting.
<< Note 2 >> Google often changes Google Docs specification without any notice. If Google Docs sync suddenly stops working, please inform us through our support site. Sometimes the Google problem is language specific.
[ Tips ]
• Password protection
Tap “Edit”, tap note name, then tap “Hide”.
• Copy
Tap “Edit”, tap note name, then tap “Copy”.
• Move to another folder within note view
Tap “Title”, tap folder name, then tap a destination folder name.
• Editing a clip
Open clipboard, tap “Edit”, then tap clip name.

New Option: Lock the Note  rating of iNote
By: mfletcher7202 - Sep 18, 2009
Version: 1.4.2
This is possibly my favorite app for the iPhone. I would like to make only one suggestion, however. This app should have a very simple option to "lock" the note once it has been written. This will prevent the keyboard from popping up accidentally whenever we try to scroll down to read our notes. The unwanted keyboard is not just a nuisance, but occassionally will cause me to add a few words of complete gibberish before realizing what had just happened. The option to "lock" the note would prevent such mistakes. Of course, the same option could be used likewise to "unlock" the note whenever we want to add something. Perhaps, it should be said that my so-called notes tend to be a few pages long. I am a graduate student, and many of my notes incorporate lengthy quotes and citations from other scholars in my field. Hence, the frequent need to scroll through the note. There is, however, a real concern that I may one day accidentally delete something valuable and, once deleted, not easily retrievable. For instance, if I were to delete by accident just one number from a bibliography or a footnote, I would be at a complete and utter loss to figure out if the page number cited had been 45, 55, 58, 225, or 562. This is what makes the option to "lock" the note absolutely crucial. If anybody else thinks this would be a good option to have for the iNote, please add your voice to mine when reviewing this app.

Love this app  rating of iNote

I'm so glad I found this app. It deffinitly makes orginizing notes so much easier and the ability to edit and move is nice. Couple things I would like to see is some color for more orginizing and if there is a way you can have audio clips be placed in a folder. Like if you have a Confernce call u can take record it and file in a note with notes. If that makes sences. Great app I highly recomend

Great app  rating of iNote

Exellent app, since this forgot My Palm T/X, Newer vertions significatively betters. Worth the price, has simplicity and utility from MAC's. Tried many others, Books, notes, todo's etc..Remains the best, every new version adds what we asked for. Wish list -Desktop syncronisation -Posibility to change to next previous note without going back to the categorie menu.(arrowes or swipe for going back and forward next note) -Posibility to change/navigate between categories without going back to the categorie menu.

Great!  rating of iNote
By: TDB123 - Jan 27, 2009
Version: 1.3.1
One of the best not taking if not the best note taking applications available. It is user friendly, easy to use. The ability to sync with google docs is a strong feature of this application. So this application is great for pc users also. Because of the integrated e- mail function and landscape keyboard this application can be used as an alternative mail application so it can save you money. A few suggestions. - more backgrounds; it gets bland looking at the same format over and over again - ability to change fonts and font color - spell check But besides these issues it is way better than the note taking application that comes standard with the iPhone.

Great Program!!!  rating of iNote
By: Xyleisha - Nov 2, 2008
Version: 1.2
Yikes! I didn't realize this app. doesn't sync. I would love to see that addressed in the near future. I absolutely love the program. I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses and our translation of the Bible isn't available, so I can now (more easily than in the standard note pad) write out the Bible for quick and easy future use. In the future, I would love to see subfolders added. I've only encounter 4 minor problems: typing seems a tad less responsive and my key clicks don't always sound properly as I type and my text sometimes bounces around, especially when editing. The 4th is more annoying but still minor: when I have to prematurely end what I'm working on and try to add to it again, I can't always access the bottom of the material. I now get around that by clicking return several times (but that makes my text jump around even more lol *sigh*). But I still love it! Great job! **EDIT** I just updated this app and I had to change my rating from 4 stars to 5. BRAVO!!! I now have subfolders and my notes are much more neat and easier to find. Well done!

The most useful notes app so far  rating of iNote
By: C.J.M. - 05-Jan-2009
Version: 1.3
This is a great application. Not only can I take notes in landscape mode and arrange them in folders I can upload them in an instant to my Google Docs.
This means I don't have to bother setting up a WiFi sync nor sifting through notes I have had to e mail myself to use them away from my iPhone.
This is the best app for taking anything other than jottings as it saves having to rewrite information or spend ages transferring it to a computer. It also means I can view my notes on any computer!
The scrolling issue mentioned by another reviewer has certainly been resolved in version 1.3

Landscape Typing is it's Strength  rating of iNote
By: ER Physician - 25-Sep-2009
Version: 1.4.2
This is one of the cleanest Categorized Notetakers I have on my iTouch. Although I have now become accustomed to typing in Portrait Mode with relatively few errors, it is far more comfortable typing in Landscape mode. I have yet to find another Notetaking application that allows you to type in Landscape Mode. I keep notes in 7 different Categories and the Clean Font Choices/Time-Date Stamping of Notes/Manual Re-ordering options/Visual display of 1st Line of Notes makes it a pleasure to use/retrieve old notes without having to delve deep into a hierarchical submenu. It has a similar clean text display to Moleskinnery which has recently changed it's name (maybe only a handful of people know what a moleskin notebook is).

Wonderful Straightfoward, but boring  rating of iNote
By: KTxLibris - Jul 17, 2009
Version: 1.4.1
Update (7.17.09): Now that I've been using it for a while and there's heavy competition from Docs to Go and QuickOffice and the new 3.0 update, I would like more advanced features dealing with font control and bullet points. Still, my favorite thing is syncing to Google Docs because in those other two programs, you can't edit in the clouds unless you have idisk. And if you need to edit from a computer, just import the MS Word doc to Google Docs.
I would buy this app just to use landscape mode. I love how easy it is to type with landscape. Syncs wonderfully to google docs to and from my iPod Touch. User Interface is pretty basic. So like I said, awesome app that's very straightfoward (and I would even say bare).
There are a few things I would like to see in the next update. First would be themes, or at least make it look better with different background and different fonts and colors for folders. With this update, I'll give a full five stars. For now, four stars.

Great product for Google Doc user  rating of iNote
By: coolgreen101 - Jan 15, 2009
Version: 1.3.1
After trial of about 5 notes software for iPhone, I found this is a great product of Note in iPhone, esp if you use google Doc.
It is simple and easy use.
There are only 2 missing figures:
1. no encryption
-----I think this is essential for any portable device
2. can not lock file/note (read only mode)
----sometime you only want to read the note, not edit. Because it can not lock note, it frequently run into edit mode and accidently change the note!!!
If iNote have the two functions above, it will be one of the greatest app in iPhone.

The best replacement for iPhone Notes so far  rating of iNote
By: Theimenent - Jan 6, 2009
Version: 1.3
I bought and tried an app called Text Editor which is OK but not as capable as iNote. This one lets you down load from AND upload to Google Documents (it lost the line breaks on some notes that I edited in Google Docs before downloading). It is very simple to set up a free Gmail account and use the Document feature, and the connection with iNote is very fast. iNote lets you change the font size to make your notes easier to read. It lets you send email from within iNote using iPhone mail (although I had some difficulty with one test note, possibly because of a colon that I used in the file name). It also has no way to get back to iNote after sending email except to close Mail and start iNote up again, but that is no big deal. It lets you type your notes or email in landscape. Like iPhone Notes this app lacks true text editing features like cut and paste. On the other hand, the UI is well designed and has more useful features than the other app I tried. It let me load a ten page MSWord doc that I'm working on. I won't try to edit the paper on my iPhone, but I can read it and make notes for later revisions. Overall, it's well worth the money.

Good App  rating of iNote
By: gar in oakland - Sep 6, 2008
Version: 1.1
In my search for an application to replace NotePad on my old Palm T|X, this one comes the closest. iNote's strength lies in its ability to create categories, a must-have feature for any note taking application. It is also handy to be able to e-mail the notes with the iPhone's (Touch's) built-in Mail program -- the note's title becomes the subject line and the note text becomes the body of the message. Very cool.
As others have stated, I'd like to be able to sync notes between iNote and my iMac -- then one could type notes on one's computer and sync them to the Touch or iPhone. To this wish list I'd also like to add cutting and pasting capabilities. On the Palm, I used to take notes in NotePad and then cut and paste action items to my To Do list. I miss being able to do this.
But overall, I find this a very user-friendly and useful application.

Love the interface, needs a sync  rating of iNote
By: Joey Livingston - Aug 28, 2008
Version: 1.1
I really love this application's interface for the landscape mode; they were very smart to leave off any extra interface elements from the keyboard, which left plenty of room to see what you are writing.
If this app had a sync feature, I would use it more. I suppose I could live with emailing the documents from iNote that I want on my desktop, but this application desperately needs a way to move existing documents on your desktop into the application.

Great, but!  rating of iNote
By: surfalien - 07-Nov-2008
Version: 1.2.1
Not a bad app, whats missing,--- :needs to be integrated into the iphone calandar / contacts app's so you can access a contact and copy then paste it into the calandar then iNote without having to re-type it and visa versa.

What would be great also is if the "WritingPad" App be integrated into iNote and probably every inputing App out there. Now that would be an App!!!
Syncing to the Pc or Mac to save and print is also a must. Its like i've got 3-4 great App's but none of them talk to each other. How do we let the software developers know what we want??

Love the program.....BUT......  rating of iNote
By: ebangjang - 7-Nov-2008
Version: 1.2.1
I just purchased iNote and overall I love it! It makes typing alot of material about 100% easier!!! I just have one question....maybe I'm stupid and haven't figured it out, but is there any way I can reply to e-mails using iNote? If I get an e-mail in my gmail account and I want to respond to it there seems to be no way I can transfer the e-mail to iNote. That's my only complaint. Or maybe if I work with it a bit more I can find a solution to this problem. The company support website certainly does not address this issue.

Great Idea, does what it says but here is a suggestion that would make it better  rating of iNote
By: Moneil604 - 7-Nov-2008
Version: 1.2.1
Today I downloaded and tried out firemail and easy email which are 2 applications that allow you to create and respond to emails using the native mail app on the iphone but with a landscape mode keyboard. This makes text entry easy and fast. Along comes inote which not only does the same thing but also allows you to create and save notes and create hierarchies of folders to save them in. This now adds more functionality than firemail and easy email. I bought inote and feel that the added feature of being able to use it as a notepad in landscape mode that I am able to save and organize notes in in worth the 3.99...but...there is one suggestion that would make this the ultimate application. With firemail and easy email, when you reply to an email, the subject line of the email you are replying to is left as is (RE:hey there) as expected of an email client, but when you use inote to reply to an email you must enter a title for your note or email before you can enter text into the body of the note or email, and then that title overwrites the subject line in the email you are replying to when you send the note back to your email app. I know this is a simple thing but it is something that firemail and easy mail do well. Please consider this modification. With this new behavior this application would definately be number ! on the list of the landscape text/email editors.
