Description:
Pocket Informant is an integrated calendaring and GTD-based tasks solution for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Our purpose is to fuse together best-of-class calendaring with best-of-class tasks into one great solution. We've had been carefully crafting new versions and each version has had many major new features and we've got so much more coming! Here are some of our top current features: - Push Alarms for events and to dos straight to your phone! (Touch users require WiFi access) - A calendar built the way an iPhone Calendar should be - Today, Month, Day, Week, Agenda, to do, and Search views - Swipe between Months, Days, and Weeks - Easily jump to any date in Day and Month views - Timebars to show your free/busy time at a glance or show mini-text on the month cells instead - Calendar Filtering: One or multiple calendars being filtered - Expanded detail view to see events and todos on any day - Phone Links in Notes - Todos integrated in the Calendar Views ( show in-progress or due today, completed or not) - to do Grouping and QuickSearch/Insert - Full Search of Contacts, Todos, and Calendar items - Send Appointment Meeting Requests - Getting-Things-Done (GTD) management or Franklin Covey ABC/1-99 Prioritization of Todos - Filters to quickly find active, due, undated, overdue, and completed Todos - Today View to show your current appointments, Todos and meeting attendees - Starring/Flagging Todos - Many options to configure First Day of week, ISO Week Numbers, which calendars to sync, Mini-text/timebars/numbers month, default task settings, past appointment style, colors, app badge, etc... Proper to do management is essential, but it’s only part of the picture. Pocket Informant is a full featured PIM, so it lets you focus on everything you do in a day - not just your to do list. We believe bringing your appointments and todos together in one place is more efficient than working in isolated calendar and to do management systems. Pocket Informant is designed to not force you into any one method of doing things - use our to do View as rigidly or freely as you want, using GTD principles, Franklin Covey, or your own system. WHY DO I NEED THIS WHEN I HAVE A CALENDAR? We love our iPhones, but we saw some untapped potential for a full-featured PIM. Pocket Informant fills that gap. To start with, we made navigation very natural - simply swipe between the months, or tap the month name to jump to a new date. For those of us who have several events in a day, we built a time bar so you can see how your day is blocked off at a glance. When looking at a day’s activities, we show you your appointments AND todos together, and we give you nearly the entire screen to see them. We offer a convenient view to quickly see activities going on "today", and we built a great week view as well. For years, these and numerous other features have made Pocket Informant a must-have application for school teachers, soccer moms, salesmen and executives alike. Localizations: English only at this time, other languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian) later this year

Reviews:
1.01 is very good By: Andrew Eick - Apr 14, 2009 Version: 1.01 I just upgraded to 1.01 and wow what an improvement. I have several calendars (Family, work, kids, projects) that I keep on several google calendars, and version 1.0 could not synch them. With 1.01, they synched no problem. Without the multiple calendars, PI was a non-starter for me, but now it's creeping into my daily use. The app is still a bit slow when you "swipe weeks" or change views, but it's a noticeable improvement. Since the default calendar app was not usable by me (to many appointments and overlaps). With PI, I'm starting to use my iphone calendar again. Great piece of software, and worth the price.
The BEST Calendar/Task app for the iPhone!!! By: ScottNWDW - Oct 4, 2009 Version: 1.11 With each and every update this app gets better. Been using it since it irst came out and it is now the only calendar and task app that I use on my iPhone. This is what the calendar app for the iPhone should have been. Since the iPhone did not come with a task manager, the task manager in this app is the best whether you use GTD or Franklin Covey methods. At first I didn't think I'd like syncing with gmail since I am used to Outlook. But with this app syncing to Google I can access and change my calendar from any PC with an internet connection. Using gSyncIt I then sync back to Outlook, which also syncs to the built in calendar via MobileMe. A great back up system. Notes are coming soon and that will work well for me as well. If you want a great calendaring app, this is THE ONE to get and well worth the $12.99 price.
What the Iphone was missing By: WeatherMatt - Oct 4, 2009 Version: 1.11 This app is what the iPhone is really missing in terms of calendar and time management software. Works amazingly well including push alarms and syncing. I did have to restart my iPhone after initial installation to get the push alarms to work, but now they go off without a hitch. If they were able to add an alarm looping feature to make aure you don't miss the really important reminders, this app would be untouchable. Todo system is flexible and integrates so well with the calendaring app. I can use it to create separate projects for shopping lists or just track my general todo list. Great looking and useful calandar month and week views! Best app I've downloaed so far and makes my iphone so much more useful and fun.
Waiting too long to buy is my only problem By: cillakat - Oct 27, 2009 Version: 1.11 I've got about 50 apps on my phone...lots of them very good, very helpful, very effective. And generally, not $12.99. Because of the pricetag, I've balked about buying Pocket Informant. Yesterday I decided to take the leap though and, really, REALLY can't believe I waited this long. My 13 google cals can now be viewed or hidden with a touch. I can see day, week or month at a glance. (love the week view). I just....wow. I am speechless. And to think I've spent the last busy months without this when It only would have cost me $12.99. It's reasonable to say that this powerful app is would be a bargain at ten times the price.
Great, and the price is worth it. By: Dr. Solace - Oct 27, 2009 Version: 1.11 This is so far the only productivity app that I feel has better support for the Getting Things Done methodology. I like omnifocus, but PI's implementation of a detailed calendar and to-do function makes it feel more complete. This is the one app I feel like I didn't get ripped off (unlike Things). I was going for omnifocus because it has a nice desktop companion, but you definitely can't beat PI's calendar and google cal support. It may be glitchy at times, but the good significantly outweighs the bad so far.
Awesome App Heads above the rest By: The old man Guru - Apr 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 I was a PI user on windows mobile for years. Yes I have tried them all and they don't come any better than this. If you want a truely powerful PIM manager this is it. I purchased & used SaiSuke & Toodledo until this app was released. I am now happy with my iPhone.
UPDATE
I have had it now for several weeks and have a few complaints. It is somewhat slow. Ocassionally when I try to do an update or complete a task I get booted out of the program. I am sure they will fix these things and I love it's potential.
Extremely Useful By: xHALFRICANx - Apr 8, 2009 Version: 1.01 At first I was skeptical with all the 1 star reviews, but I took a chance since I wanted more from my calender app and I already had a Toodledo acc.
Wow! I was blown away with how user friendly it is and how effortless it is to sync to Googles cal and Toodledo! I used to use an iCal on my Macbook, nie I have fully switched to Google cal and couldn't be more please with it's functionality and the best part... It's on my iPhone.
People are saying it's slow... It's not slow at all! The only thing slow about this app Is the amount of people who don't have it! It's a must for anybody!
Pros:
$ Quick accurate navigation
$ Seamless sync ability
$ Tons of options when imputing an event
$ alerts through Gmail are life savers
$ A two in one app cal/to do
Cons:
- It is pricey, but worth every penny (in my humble opinion)
Fantastic app with a dead sexy appeal!
Cannot live without this useful GTD app! By: Ray Shan - Oct 3, 2009 Version: 1.10 Pocket Informant is the default productivity go-to app for Windows Mobile platform and now it's on the iPhone! Yes it's on the heavy side unlike the many single-function apps (and there are many that are fantastic, such as Things), but the perfect integration of Google Calendar and Toodledo GTD todo is what won me over, and it's only 1.04! The best thing about the company behind PI, WIS, is their willingness to innovate and keep moving forward. Can't wait for 1.1 update! The productivity gains are worth 10x the $12 price!
Wasn't sure about this app. was worth $$ By: Ltlbigfoot - Oct 22, 2009 Version: 1.11 Boy was I wrong. I love this app!!!!!I have never written a review before but I love this and it IS worth the $$!!!My life just got much easier to manage having everything in one place. I love the small text in the month view for the calendar. If I could add anything to the WISHLIST for future updates:It would be nice to be able to track Birthdays and Anniversaries. When in putting the day and the year it would alert you to the day and tell you how old or in the case of an anniversary how many years total. That would then make this app perfect for me! Thanks for putting this out there for people to use!!!
A must-have if you use Google Calendar and Toodledo By: Thecompkid - Oct 20, 2009 Version: 1.11 Pocket Informant is the gold standard for PIM apps on the iPhone, period. The google calendar integration is phenominal, and PI is actually a better interface to Toodledo than TD's own app (and website), IMHO. Everything is so snappy and streamlined, and I have no problem quickly entering or looking up info, which is more than I can say about a great deal of other apps I have tried. I won't say that the app is perfect, but it's the closest I've seen, and some nice updates are planned for PI in the future. I could go on and on, but I'll leave any undecided customer with this: save yourself time and hassle; buy Pocket Informant, learn its nuances, and you'll soon realize that there's nothing else that even comes close.

Great app, needs Push notification By: OlukayodeS - Oct 1, 2009 Version: 1.10 Pls bring back the sync button!
PI still gets 5 stars but pls bring back the sync button in the next update. I don't want automatic sync as this is always problematic outside my home network (I don't have unlimited cellular data). I can turn off auto sync but then I have to shake to sync (I hate that). PI is still the best.
Great GTD, been using PI from Windows mobile days, simply the best at integrating Calendar with Tasks. Still waiting for Push notification update, also needs to improve on speed.
Well Thought-out! I'm Happy w/ the Product and Look Forward to Enhancements. By: Snackinattitude - Oct 19, 2009 Version: 1.11 I've used PIMs since the late 80's, and have seen a lot of programs tver the years. I've got to say, this is a vast improvement over the STD iPhone app. Sure, there's always room for improvement on any app, but I think the folks over at WebIS did a great job on this product. Overall, well worth the $12.99 price tag. I'm running OS 3.1 on a 3G.Here's my wishlist for enhancements:1. Faster launch time.2. Franklin-Covey numerical ordering. (I emailed this request in to WebIS and received the response that they were working on it. 3. Clearer layout on pop-up alert. If the alert was similar in layout to the iPhone calendar alert, that would be nice. Right now all alerts contain the pocket informant header.4. Greater selection of pop-up notification sounds.Keep up the good work WebIS!
Best PIM Management on iPhone!! By: JNHohol - Oct 1, 2009 Version: 1.10 Great developer & responsive forums.
Excellent App, that keeps getting better. My definite choice for PIM Management. Nice calendar views and To Do integration. I'm syncing w/Google Calendar, and then from Google Calendar to my iPhone calendar, works pretty well. I'm not having start up issues or long lag time.
Improved with new versions: To Do section has been improved, Calendar color choices are numerous and colors sync reliably. Sync process has been improvement.
Looking forward to future updates!!!
Best of Todo and Calendar Combined By: grazier - Oct 1, 2009 Version: 1.10 This is a very good calendar and todo app, and with the update, is even better. It doesn't have all the features of the Windows Mobile Version, but it eventually will. However, it's user interface is nicer than Windows Mobile, in my opinion. The only thing holding it back is all the work arounds they have to do because of Apple's inability to open up the Calendar app to developers.
I've had a few issues with crashing, but the developer has fixed all of these with the update. PI Support is excellent.
PI keeps getting faster, and is significantly faster than other calendar apps I've tried. I've found that google calendar sync works very well. While googles calendar can now push to the native apple calendar, it has not reliably transferred all of my calendars. PI does, however.
Try it for a week before rating it By: The real Prince Hal - Mar 28, 2009 Version: 1.0 I was initially disappointed, but as I used it for a week, and understood its functionality, then it grew and grew on me. I own SaisSuke, CalenGoo, the odd calendar from Left Coast Logic and ToDoCalSync. Pocket Informant is the best of the lot, and you just know that it will continue to be developed and supported. I've had a Windows Mobile calendar from then for years. I agree that the speed could be better when syncing, but they say that this will be improved in the next version. The ToDo section is not the best on the market, but it isn't bad, and it is integrated with the calendar. Hit Today and you get the appointments and todos on one screen. This also works from the week and month views as well. Very stable product. Start with this one and keep the faith with it, and it will get better and better.
This is going to be great. By: KorbinB - Sep 30, 2009 Version: 1.10 I've been searching for a great PIM app since I moved from a Palm TX to the iPod touch and had to leave what I consider to be the gold standard of PIM software behind (Pimlico DateBk 6).
Although this is definitely a 1.0 app, it already does the majority of things that I look for in a PIM application. The authors are obviously interested in designing the software to allow people who rely on their calendars and task lists a way to enter the info with minimal work. I look forward to the speed improvements and new features in 1.01 and beyond.
Good product from a known company. By: Huncowboy - Mar 27, 2009 Version: 1.0 I have been using these guys' software on PDAs for some 4-5 years now. Thus I know unlike most releases on iTunes this one will be supported and by the time they are done with it it will be twice the application it was them what version 1.0 is. They have always been behind their products and customers.
Having said all that, I was fully expecting v1.0 to be buggy as just about every damn application here including this iPhone I am typing this on right now. But this application has not crashed yet. I have had it for a week an not one crash. I bet it will eventually but still: Good job Webis!
Awesome! By: Arlingtonlover - Sep 30, 2009 Version: 1.10 I love this app! It's expensive, I'll give you that, but it is so much better than the iPhone calendar. You can jump ahead to dates, you can scroll months with a flick of your finger, and most importantly to me it has a "to do" app built in that shows on your calendar! Inputting info is so much easier and quicker than the iphone calendar. I have moved this app down to the bar and move iPhones cal and my other todo app to my last page of unused apps! I freakin' love this thing!
Awesome! By: diamonddd2009 - Oct 12, 2009 Version: 1.11 This is hands-down the best personal information management app on the iPhone - it makes the built-in calendar almost embarrassing. Its like having a mini-Outlook with you at all times! You do need an ' intermediate' service like Google if you want total Outlook-iPhone Calendar-PI integration, but that's free and easy to do. (if Apple would open their calendar to the sdk, even that wouldn't be necessary, but PI does a great job working around Apples limitations). Highly recommended.
Love This App! By: Busycarol - Sep 28, 2009 Version: 1.10 This app makes my life so much easier! I am currently watching over the calendars of four people. It is able to do that with each calendar being a different color and syncs with google calendar beautifully! This new version 1.10.32 even gives me landscape mode and the text on the month view that I was hoping for!!! I am still getting used to using ToodleDo for my tasks but this app works great for that too. It does take a little getting used to but nothing that a few times of using it can't overcome! Thanks for the great app!
