Join the thousands of iPhone and iPod touch users who have made Things the most popular paid to-do manager in the App Store.
Things is a beautifully focused and amazingly intuitive task manager. Other todo applications either oversimplify or are too difficult to use. Things instead offers the perfect balance between ease of use and powerful features.
"Our Favorite Apps...Entirely amazing." -- Apple, App Store Turns 1
“If Things sounds simple, that's because it is. Other to-do list managers I've tried have, quite honestly, gotten in the way of me getting things done. Things doesn't do that. And I wouldn't have it any other way.” -- Macworld.com, ★★★★
Mac|Life Editor's Choice Award, ★★★★★
Effortlessly manage to-dos, notes, due dates, and projects. A smart today list and the scheduling feature allow you to work as effectively as possible - every day.
You can even sync wirelessly with the desktop version of Things (sold separately) using Wi-Fi.

You can stop looking for another GTD app
By: Retino - Aug 21, 2008
This is the "One". I have used a number of GTD apps (iGTD, OminFocus / Kinless GTD) and found that they were either to rigid and limited (iGTD) or overly complex and laborious (OmniFocus). Things was the most natural and flexible implementation of GTD that I have found. The group at CC are very into the experience of using their app so that is always available with a non-intrusive UI that does not act like a dominatrix trying to make you conform to its way of doing things. Having the iPhone version sync lets me dump everything out of my brain into the the Things system at any time / anywhere. The code is also very efficient and fast. No sluggish response. Couldn't be happier. The future versions (tags) will make this GTD nirvana.

Only had the product for a week or so but it is good! I am using it every day. Especially like that you can just jot an idea into a quick "in basket" as it occurs, then move it later into a more organized folder.
I also like that it is easy to add to the note later. This works well for building up a grocery list over the week for example.
Only thing I mess up once in a while is you have to press "save" after creating each note or it is lost.
I would buy this app again.

I use Things every day, both on my desktop and on my iPhone. It’s simply the best Task app out there. Cultured Code does not try to cram features into their apps, they carefully (and quietly) contemplate where they want their app to go, and come up with a beautiful and elegant solution to it. If that sounds like an app you’d like use, then buy it. If you expect them to quickly implement the feature you think would make it best, then you will be disappointed. I’ve thought about trying to go back to one of the many, many, task solutions I’ve tried and they all seem excessively complicated in comparison.
Some of the features of the desktop app missing from the iPhone version but those generally noted to be coming and I honestly get by without most of them in the meantime. My one complaint is that to make a new task (by my rough estimate) it can take up to 11 seconds from tapping the app icon. I know there are constraints on resources with my 3G iPhone, but it would be nice to have a quicker quick entry method.

This app takes just a little getting used to but it is worth the time it takes to learn it. The desktop wireless syncing is so useful. The ability to organize to do items into projects is fantastic. I use it for medical school courses and even make shopping lists and packing lists. The inbox feature is useful when you need to write a to do down but don't have the time to organize it yet.
I am really loving this app. I love that it has a red "badge" to let you know how many to do items you have that day without even opening the app. Great job. I look forward to the future updated features but even without them this app is top notch!
Love it, but don't forget Windows users!
By: xgravity23 - Dec 4, 2009
I really like Things. It is intuitive and easy to use. HOWEVER, and this is huge, Windows users have NO WAY to back up their data. I have had to restore a couple times and both times I lost ALLLLL my ToDos. This was devastating. I paid $10 like all the other iPhone users, but my data is completely insecure. Maybe you don't want to develop Things for Windows desktop. At least let us save and restore over WebDAV or something! For a $10 app, we at least deserve this level of service. Provide something like that, and I'll change to 5 stars easily.
Clean, quick and it works better than the rest

This app has completely changed my productivity to the point I now use it exclusively for my college assignments and personal to dos. To give this statement perspective its a great alternative to Daylite without the overkill.
I get my stuff done simply, quickly but without ending up with a ridiculously long list of to dos, and HAS the option of basic parent/child tasks. It is probably the best PIM I've used on any PDA. Even the memorable ones like Mentor (psion) and Life Balance (Palm), this just nails it.
The killer feature for me is the ' Today' concept which is such a different approach than the standard high to low priority or due date. Choosing which 'Todays' I absolutely must get done just works for me. It just gets me thinking about my stuff in a different way.
Now that it syncs with its deskop namesake I'm stoked.

I have been using a Mac for as long as I can remember and have always searched for the right way to organize all my to dos, projects, etc. Before finding Things desktop I used a combination of paper planner and Entourage to dos, notes. I always had a difficult time synching to my Blackberry so most of the time I used my paper planner.
Things desktop changed my life with the ability to organize everything in such an intuitive, fun to use system. I just got an iPhone, and can't believe how seamless the synching is to my desktop. Changes to notes, projects, everything synchs in seconds. I was not going to get an iPhone unless I knew I could improve my personal organization. This app is incredible!

I use Things on my Mac and for me it's the best app for being productive and keeping up with what I need to get done! It's so intuitive and Mac like. I don't want to have to put in a lot of time just to enter what I have to get done. Well this iPhone version of Things has the same great ease of use and it automatically synchs with Things on my Mac when I open Things on my Mac and Things on my iPhone (does not require a wired connection). Awesome!!! I think this is the only review I have done?
An Amazing App, Get it and the desktop version.
By: GDD9000 - Jan 24, 2009
Without a doubt this is one of the best apps for the itouch/iphone. The key to its function and usability is its seamless intergration with the desktop version of Things (which is quite pricey but in the end worth much more). First go the the Things web site and download the trial version for your desktop. After using it and understanding how the itouch/iphone version is a perfect extension of it you will see how great this pair of apps is. Although I must say that without the desktop version (which syncs perfectly without any user actions) the itouch/iphone version would only rate 3 stars. If you are one of those who are still stuck the clunky, non-intuitive PC/Windows world you would not be able to use this app to its fullest. You would still be glad you got it because it is so very useful but will wish you had a Mac to enable yourself to maximize you time and productivity.
It finally happened

Things is the first app that was good enough and used often enough to be added to the bottom bar on my iPhone. It has now replaced the iPod app since I don't use it that often. The syncing is what did it for me. It's easy to setup, and is fast. Things is the most expensive app I've added so far, but it was money well spent. And really, $10 isn't that expensive if it helps me stay on top of things.
Simply the best!!!

I use to have omnifocus for the iphone and the mac version. However, ever since I have use Things, my daily productivity increase and I can track my tasks better. I love the inbox concept and the simple Today and Next categories. Projects allows me to group my task vertically and Reponsibilities enable me to group my tasks horizontally. I have also purchased the mac version and both let me work more efficiently. I just want to say you won't regret getting this and I have tried so many tasks management that cannnot match up to Things. Things Rocks!
This is how it's done!!!

This was the best desktop task organizer, and now with syncing it's a GREAT iPhone app. And the syncing puts other programmers to shame - I've got several that don't sync as easily and reliably as this. Fantastic program, perfectly executed. I'm so excited that I can't wait to license the desktop version (which, though still a beta, is more flexible and solid than most second generation programs).
Believe the hype.

This app really is great. And if you have been following the developers you will know in your heart that they are not posting their own reviews.
Those saying negative things about Things either have not used it properly or don't get the point. It is the todo app that I have been waiting for. And having been testing the syncing beta for a couple of days I can tell you that Things is only going to keep getting better.
Best App I Have!
By: Schultzypoo - Nov 29, 2009
I can't believe it isn't made by apple, I use this app everyday to keep track of my life. It's the only app made by a 3rd party that has constantly stayed on my home screen (along with facebook). It's sophisticated enough to keep track of everything I need to do, but simple enough to stay out of my way. By using the desktop app you can even sync your iCal todo's. Works perfect, I love it. Keep up the amazing work! A lanscape mode would be my only suggestion (now that it's more of a standard in 3.0).
DANGEROUS!!! Makes you very productive!

All I can say is WOW!! I evaluated Things and Omnifocus on the Mac and based on how I work, Things kicked Omnifocus to the curb. The 2nd half of my need is a reliable iPhone client and one again... Things iPhone delivers. Sure, it doesnt do everything, but it meets my needs 100%. There are a lot of BOGUS reviews on this product. If you own the Mac Product - BUY THIS APP NOW! I just started a new job and have a constant pile of new tasks popping up from all over the place. I would have been completely lost without it!
PS. I emailed one of Cultured Codes corporate officers asking about the future of the product. He assured me its being worked on. Although it's not updated every 3 weeks, rest assured they have expanded their iPhone efforts. WooHoo!
Totally addictive task management tool

UPDATE: Just upgraded to 1.1 and tried out syncing all day today at my job. It works flawlessly. Very impressive and clever implementation. Using the phone alone was fun, but combining it with the free beta version of the desktop version is pure magic.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: This little application has worked it's way into my entire daily routine, and replaced my email inbox as my primary to-do list. I'm really looking forward to syncing with the free desktop version of Things, but the iPhone version actually works great as a standalone product. Tagging and areas will be a welcome addition in the future.
Kudos on the user interface. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort went into adapting Things for the iPhone. Future enhancements will only add to an already very elegant user experience.
Great app comes alive with both iphone and desktop apps
By: Dewster35 - Jun 24, 2009
After doing a bit of research on the whole Get Things Done movement, I've realized that this app isn't simply a pick up some bread or change the filter in the furnace, if some time is spent pondering what you do, how you do it, how often you do it etc., it really becomes incredibly powerful. It's a friendly nudge for fitting in the extra day's activities when you have time. I've always felt somewhat overwhelmed when looking at all of the "extra curricular's" (Usually not fun) in life, but this app has helped tremendously. I'm finally on schedule, can see at a glance what I need to get done today and can very easily and quickly get things out of my brain, down into my inbox so I don't have to "remember to remember it!" It will allow you to focus on what's right in front of you while swatting the distractions of the day aside to be dealt with at a later more convenient time.
One of the best apps yet
By: edshull - Aug 20, 2008
It has always amazed me that Apple did not bundle a to-do list app with the iPhone. You would think that would be the first item on the list. I have tried a couple other to-do lists from the app store, but Things is in a league of it's own. The key is that it is seamlessly synced with the desktop version of the software. And it's much more than a simple to-do application, it's a nice, very simple, task manager. I love the idea of the GTD lifestyle, but I'm not disciplined enough to stick to it. Things makes it very simple.
This, and 1Password, are the most vital apps available.
Fantastic full featured task manager
By: K.W.C - Aug 20, 2008
The 1.1 update exceeded my expectations. Syncing is painless and works well. Things is the best, easiest-to-use GTD/task manager solution for the iPhone/Mac combination. Check out their blog... the developers listen to the customers and seem to be hard at work at making this application even better. The only bad thing is that I will have to fork over more money to buy the desktop version once it is out of beta!
The Reason to upgrade to the iPhone 2.0 software!
By: OzMoxy - 14-Jul-2008
Things is the only reason you need to upgrade to the iPhone 2.0 software and App Store. This amazing GTD (Getting Things Done) implementation is a must have for anybody who keeps a to-do list at work, home, or on the Fridge. Cultured Code obviously understand the GTD paradigm, and the iPod Touch/ iPhone interface. And with the promise of additional functionality coming soon, you can't go wrong.. Highly Recommended
