Why did this app not get here sooner?  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: David Allison - Nov 15, 2008
Version: 1.3
I've been looking for a grocery app that my wife and I can share at the store. I figured something would turn up, but it took so long. In comes Zenbe Lists (why stop at groceries) and it works flawlessly. You can sync lists between yourself and the website, and sync lists between users. Updates on either the phone or the site are reflected in real time (after a refresh of course). Both the app and the site are very simple, oing exactly what they advertise and nothing more. Great job!

Awesome App for Sharing To Do Lists  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: fvg - Jul 10, 2008
Version: 1.0
This is an amazing application for sharing To Do lists. I had a chance to see a preview of it when it was in beta, and couldn't wait to start using it. Now I'm using it, and they've made it even better.
The key is the sharing. Most To Do lists are single-user. Great for tracking stuff you need to do - but what do you do when you're working with someone else? I share a lot of To Do's with my wife ("Did you stop at the store to pick up milk? Do I need to?"), with my business partner ("We need to call the client. Have you had a chance?"), and others.
With Zenbe it's really easy. You just create your To Do lists, then tell it to share them with the appropriate people. The invitation goes out as an email. They can then view the list online, or on their iPhone. Then anyone can edit it, add tasks, or check off items as they do them. (You do have to set up a free account, since it syncs everyone to the server - but that's no big deal.)
Super easy to use. It's the simple apps like this that really make life easier.

Super App - Simple design!  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Shijiths - Oct 29, 2008
Version: 1.3
I'm rating this app at 5 star. Until today I've been having problems with selecting the right task App for me, but with this app i'm ending my quest. Just few suggestions, if you can implement that, it would be great:1. If possible show the number of due/overdue items on the icon itself. So I wouldn't check the list if nothing is due. 2. Introduce a alarm when something is due. While making any of these changes, please maintain the awesome simple design!! U Rock!

Developer please read  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Cygnus! - 27-Aug-2009
Version: 1.3
Developer: please add a feature to rename lists, and a feature to allow the user to move an item from one list to another. Then, the app will be perfect!! My review now: I have been searching a long time to finally find a to-do/task list app that meets all my needs. I have downloaded (and paid for) countless ones that were no good and so I deleted them. I had finally settled on two in particular, and were using them both because no one app met all my needs. They were all either too simple, or too complex (and therefore too slow and cumbersome to use). I wanted an app that allowed me to access it and add items quickly, allow due dates when needed, but also allow me to choose what order I want my items in. This one is perfect. Another plus is that it syncs to a web site (free). This gives me the peace of mind that my data is backed up, but also made it VERY quick and easy to type in all the list items I already had from other apps, since Zenbe would be replacing both of those apps. Also, Zenbe crashes VERY seldomly, unlike other list apps.

It just works  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Geoff-Vancouver - 4-May-2009
Version: 1.3
I have been using Zenbe Lists for many months. Straightforward to enter notes; straightforward to sync them with Zenbe's servers; straightforward to read them on the web.
I use it several times a day for short term 'to do' lists, and for long-term information storage. It's never lost any information.
I tried several 'to do' list apps, and each of them had their quirks. Quirks become annoying, and eventually I just deleted them all. Except this one. Zenbe just works, and I'm grateful to have a well-written program like this available.

My Zenbe wish list.  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: sphinx222 - 23-Mar-2009

Zenbe is a fantastic app. I'm always surprised when it's not listed in the top productivity apps. If you don't have it, get it. You won't be disappointed. Having said that, here's my list of future updates I would love to see... 1. The ability to choose to sort each list by date, alphabetically, or manually (as it is now). 2. As others have said, the number of overdue items displayed on the homepage icon (like unread mail). That's it. Then Zenbe will have reached perfection. Great job.

I can't say enough good things about this app when it was first released, and the new update made it even more superb. Bottom line is that the way it handles list-making is top-notch. It's UI is the smoothest and cleanest (the developer clearly has great taste) amongst all similar apps in the appstore (the light green navigation bar is a unique & nice touch). After spending all this time looking for my perfect to-do-list app, Zenbe is the answer to all my needs. Not once did I experience a bug or crash while using it for some time now ever since i first used it from the last version. Ability to share is the perfect icing to top the cake. And for the developer to offer it free just shows his deep support for the iphone community and its users.

Best downloadable iPhone app, period.  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: leap of faith - 22-Dec-2008

OK, so I'm a bit of an app who*e, and constantly have to purge un-useful apps in order to make way for new ones I'm trying out. Not only has this app survived every single purge, but I have moved it onto my homepage, because I use it so often. Yes, all the improvements that people have suggested would be nice to see in future updates. But, that being said, this is the single-most useful app I have that did not come pre-installed on my iPhone. I'm a list-maker, and this app has allowed me to become much greener with my lists - no more scraps of paper getting lost.
I make a grocery list that I'm able to add to whenever I finish something off, or realize that I need to buy something. I've always done this, but in the past, the list was still on my refrigerator door when I stopped at the grocery store. I ALWAYS have my phone with me, and now that translates into ALWAYS having every list I've made with me as well.
This app has proved to be extremely useful at Christmas for my family. I set up a separate Wish list for each person, and then emailed everyone in my family, and included all the links. Each person could go in via the web, and fill out their own wish list - and every other person could see it and it's updates. As we purchased gifts for one another, we could check the items off of the lists, to ensure that nobody duplicated. I've had so much positive feedback from my family about this app, it's ease of use, and the fantastic sharing capability - from creation to modification to checking items off of the lists, everyone always has immediate access to the most current info. Honestly, it had made a huge difference for those of us on a tight budget who would far prefer to give useful gifts that are desired by the recipient, rather than just one more piece of clutter that we feel too guilty to get rid of, but don't really like.
I have even referenced this app in suggested improvements to other apps, and given them the link to the available web-based (but not web-dependent) aspect, which is a model that I think many other apps in lots of different categories would benefit from.
This is my most favourite iPhone app, by far. No it won't cook you breakfast, and yes there are some improvements that I hope to see in future updates. But honestly, this has been one of the 4 the biggest advantages to me in having an iPhone...alongside iCal, Address Book, and iMail. Love it - keep up the great work!

Love It!  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Noah Buddy - 19-Oct-2008
Version: 1.3
I love the way I can manipulate my "to do" (and other) lists from either the iPhone or any PC I happen to be at, and then sync them up. I don't use the list sharing feature, but I can see situations where it would be cool. Some other note taking programs don't back stuff up, and some back stuff up in proprietary formats where you can't edit stuff once it's on the PC. The Zenbe website gets around all that. I'm finding it very useful, but too many clicks are required to delete somthing from a list on the iPhone (it's snappier on the web interface, though). Also, can't hit "enter" when writing up a single list entry on the iPhone, but you can do it on the PC. That should be corrected, but it's simply a minor text formatting issue for perfectionists such as myself.

Can't live without it...  rating of Zenbe Lists

From time to time there are hidden gem apps, this is definitely one of them. Being the primary grocery buyer in the household, I have this setup in all the computers in the house and my wife's work. I have a 'Groceries' list setup so we can enter in the items that need to be purchase and all I have to do is sync. Been looking for an app like this for a long time. Best of all, it's FREE! Let's hope they keep it that way.
P.S. An item list database would be excellent, kind of like a grocery app, instead of typing all the items in repetitively, choose for a list database would make this app PERFECT!

Great work  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: AmjadAlvi - 22-Nov-2008

Great work done.
I think ToDo lists are very important application but so far this is the only I found conveniently shared with your Desktop and others.
I wish if this can be connected on air with Microsoft Exchange Tasks/Notes and can have the same Category feature as well. Also if on iGoogle all lists can have one consolidated window. Otherwise by all means this is one of the best ToDo list.

best now & free  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: cramey - Sep 26, 2008

With all the todos out there I feel like we're looking for something temporary until we can sync with Apple iCal/Mail. But this one is starting to grow on me. There's a few features they could add but this may be my permanent todo list, even if Apple implements a todo sync. It's free, very nice design, solid & they fixed their scary user agreement. I set up the web version on my Mac with Fluid.app so it runs like a standalone application.

My favorite productivity app, period  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Djedi - 7-Sep-2008
Version: 1.2.1
To be able to write down my ideas in different categories no matter where I am is amazing.
Furthermore, for anybody that is bound to procrastination, it's an amazing way to keep you focused since you see ALL that you have to do, always in your pocket.
My main recommendation would be to improve the sharing function. There would be 2 aspects to this.
1 - Be able to share directly with another Zenbelists user instead of just sending an email
2 - To be able to batch select several lists for sharing instead of a single one
3 - There doesn't seem to be any integration possible between zenbelists and a normal zenbe account??? For example, be able to create a zenpage where I choose certain lists from my zenbelists.
Finally a view by "due date" would be a big plus

best of the free to-do/list apps  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: bc.mac - 30-Aug-2008
Version: 1.2
this is easily the best of the free to-do apps I've seen so far.
the ability to sync is great - you can enter/edit items on your computer or iPhone/iPod Touch. and because the lists are also saved locally on the iPhone, this is WAY more useful than the other apps that only store your data online (great if you're without internet connection - on a plane, etc). You can share lists with other people.
The UI is nice and clean and easy to use. ditto for the web-based interface to your lists. works in horizontal and vertical orientation when you rotate your iPhone.
I'm using v1.2 and I don't experience any problem with scrolling, or syncing, so perhaps those comments made by others refers to an earlier version?
my main wish is that it would allow creation of one additional level of sub-list e.g. within a top-level Shopping List it would be nice to have sub-lists for things to remember to buy at each specific store. or to have a top level To-Do list, and then sub-lists by category below that.

The Best App in the Store  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Cyroceon - Sep 22, 2008

As a student and a busy person, having a list that is broken down into categories is absolutely crucial to getting things done. This program's "hands off" feel allows me to make the list names I want, put due dates if I desire, and create endless tasks in each list. Then it tops it off by allowing me to seemlessly sync that information with my online account (which is also free). I can add, edit, or delete items on the website from any computer and the next time I open the program with my phone, BOOM, information is synced. I couldn't ask for a better program.
I do have one request, though. However, the request has no impact on the programs score because it isn't a feature that is missing, it is one that "would be nice." Color options, I would like color options. The stock colors are a little feminist and I would prefer a standard white/black, but this tan/green/yellow mix doesn't do well for me. Thank you anyway, and I'm ready to pay up to $10 for this app if I had to.

Brilliant, online sync + list sharing  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: shriansh - 01-Sep-2008

Ok. The one feature that aced this program for me is the online sync and list sharing. You can SEND a link to a list to anyone, and they can modify it for you. (i outsourced my shopping list to my girlfriend. Made her fill it out for me on her computer, and it synced automatically with my phone! Worked brilliantly! ok, so i'm lazy ;-) )
Apart from that, this app also follows the KISS methodology, integrates lists with iGoogle, and has a brilliant online sync. Recommended. And i'd keep an eye out for other apps by the author.

Fantastic!  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: Sir Feeble - 29-Aug-2008

I've never written a software review before, and don't often use exclamation marks, but I felt compelled to do both after installing this excellent list manager. I tried EverNote too, which was quite impressive but, like many similar apps, relies on a web connection. Zenbe keeps the files on the iPhone but also allows easy editing on your desktop PC and syncs the two effortlessly whenever you happen to have connectivity. By contrast, I hate the unpredictable buggy syncing of iTunes. Apple, please ask the clever Zenbe folks how to do it properly!

5 Stars  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: lawplanet - 11-Aug-2008

The ability to link it to the zenbe website is one step ahead of all the other to do programs. You can easily instead of typing it all out on your phone, type it out online and then have the list SYNC it to your phone. very smart. the design is nice with the abllity to switch to widescreen in landscape mode is also a Plus.Example... If your wife wanted you to get milk. she can go online, type in GET MILK. and i can see it on my to do list.

Just what an crashing iPhone/iPod Touch needs...  rating of Zenbe Lists
By: ReadingFan - 24-Aug-2008

I heard the review for this app on a mac podcast - tried it out, loved it. Does just what I need, just how I need. But then, syncing??? Fantastic for someone whose whose iPod Touch needs very frequent recovery, to be able to have the Touch rebuilt and my Zenbe Lists re-sync to be back where I was... I love this app, and it's ability, because of syncing, to survive the Touch rebuilds. This software with its syncing functionality is surely the model for the future. I will be looking for syncing on all other info/data storage apps now.
