This is an excellent app and very helpful. May Allah reward you for your efforts.
To all of those who are complaining about this app being Shia based;
1. If you pose to be knowledgeable with the Holy Quran then surely you notice that this version is the same as the version you have in your home.
2. Why aren't the others app made by "True Muslims" free. Since when has selling the Holy Quran become a commercial trade?
3. If your beliefs or sects claim to follow the "True Islam" then why are you afraid to read other sects translations and tafseer, is your belief weak?
I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that the master of creations, Muhammed is His messenger.
So why do you call us kafirs if we say the shahadatain and we pray to Allah (swt), give zakat, fast and perform haj? May Allah guide you and soften your hearts.

alQuran best apps

To the Brothers who created this apps for free. Only Allah can repay you the generosity you have given to the whole Muslim community. I gratefull to you.
The reciters choices were outstanding. The transalation to many languages were outstanding too.
I have started to listen to alQuran from my iphone everyday and read translation passage in my own language.
This is must have APPS for our muslim brothers.

Salaam alaycum everyone, as muslims we are responsible for the messages that we give to the non-muslims, walahi it makes me upset to see that we are even showing our segregation even on apple store.. Please dont confuse the non-muslims even more because this is what were doing by debating about sunni or shia, subhanallah, one thing that all non muslim should know is that there is no changes in the quran and we as muslims all follow and believe in one book. Salaam to you all

This is a fantastic app...the best I have seen in the AppStore...& best of all it's FREE! Whether it's Shia or Sunni, the Quran is written in Allah's language. Original Arabic. On here it is recited by the best Qari's and imams in the world! (whome are Sunni Muslims) You pick your favourite imam. Pick your favourite translation and enjoy. May Allah grant those that are ignorent amongst us with some guidence. Ameen May Allah also reward the creators of this app. Allahu 'Alem. Allah knows best.

The audio download has been corrected now and so there is no problem with the sound.
One thing that I noticed is that there are actually 2 sets of audio in this App - and both are different.
If you click on the audio button at the bottom of the screen, you will get audio without the koran scrolling the text.
If you click on an ayad of Arabic text and then click on the little audio button that then appears at the bottom of the screen, you will get another audio file which is different from the first one.
For the benefit of English readers, I want to say that I have my text translation set to English - Yusuf Ali and for the audio only version I have my translation set to Mishary Alafasi.
I tried just about all of the possible variations and conclude these 2 combinations to be the best. Considering that the trial-and-error process involves huge downloads to the iPod/iPhone, I make the above recommendation to save you all of the same time and effort and mistake audio downloads that I had to make to put into this App to get it right. Hope this works for you too.
I don't like modern translations of the Koran and prefer my text to say "Allah" and love the rythmic poetry of the English - Yusuf Ali version.
I wish people would quit sniping at each other on this review board in the Sunni and Shiite camps. This review panel is not a social networking forum for Islamic sectarianism, it is a forum to review this Koran App. What do you think people will be thinking of Islam if you make a bad impression of your religion? I am an academic, so I am not put off studying the Koran - but please bear in mind while you sling your mud at each other that some people might be put off. Ramadan Mubarek Saiid.

Aoa to my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, this app is indeed wonderful! Every morning I go on the bus, I listen to Quran and so far this has been the best, I greatly appreciate the fact that at least one good Quran has a bigger text. I find it very helpful to read. I don't understand why people are having problems, I have an itouch and it works perfectly fine. I recommend this to everyone of all ages,

Thank you to the developers!! With the recent update this app has evolved exponentially. It offers features now that no other Quran app offers. The interface is now extremely user-friendly. Almost everything is customizable, from the Qur'anic font type to the reciters etc. The greatest feature in my opinion is the ability to do a keyword search directly in Arabic, thanks to the iPhone's support for Arabic. That's incredible!! Best of all...it's free. To all the reviewers whining about Shia commentary.... please GROW UP. When will you leave behind this pathetic ignorance? Please read the Sunni-Shia dialogue book called "The Right Path". It's available free in the app store by downloading the app called Islamiclib. Read it first. I am a Sunni Muslim who is proud to call the Shia "my beloved brethren".

The app is good and it's free and yes haji ali is right we all do the 5 main things and i would add that we are all from adam but the problem lies in how some Shias are against hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar . This is wrong they were as much brothers to our prophet pbuh as was Ali and If Allah wanted Hazrat Ali to be the first chaliphite then it would have been so as there is no greater power than his But he wasn't so just get over it and as much as you can blame individuals all you want you cannot point fingers at the almighty ? His will is final is it not? hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar are even buried next to Mohammed pbuh and remember that both Allah swt and his prophet pbuh have full control over what happens in medina . So they want them there remember once again no might or will above Allahs. If Allah didn't want them next to Mohammed pbuh they would not be there would they? it's as simple as that By accusing hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar of doing wrong things you are hurting the prophet pbuh and even Ali as they all treated each other with great respect and love they all lived like brothers. You think by slandering at those the prophet and Ali loved ie hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar that they (Mohammed pbuh and Ali ) will love you more? I don't think so. Shame on you all and in fact they will question you on the day of judgement as to who told you to slander their brothers . Ali never made up things about his brothers and never said things against hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar and he never advocated that their be hatred for Abu Baker and Umar and even when he became the leader he never put these fellow brothers down. His character was too good for this So How do you honour his great character by putting his brothers hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar down. That's wrong If I swore at your brother you would be hurt so don't swear and accuse the prophets pbuh brothers all of them did there best most gave up wealth and fought in battles toghether. They gave there lives for each other and you guys think you have any right to say things against any of the sahaba yeh right. You dishonour the memory of the prophet pbuh and the great Ali by pointing finger at great hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar. The only winner is the shaitan as he uses false claims to stir up hatred and make people do things which hurt the prophet pbuh. Can you not see this

The best Quran app on iTunes so far!

What I love best about it is that it provides full recitations of the entire Holy Quran from some of the best recitors including my favoite Abdul Basit, to you for free, that's a HUGE selling point to me. Overall, a fantastic application that lets you read along with the recitor or read at your own leisure. Two things would make this application perfect, first the implementation of landscape mode while reading the Quran text, and second the ability to rewind and forward while listening to a recitor.
This is a great Quran application, JAK to everyone involved in making it and distributing it for free. Thank you very much, may Allah bless you.

Amazing recitation

I am so glad I have downloaded this app. Absolutley amazing recitation and text. I like the option to change the voice of the person reading the Quran. I am particularly amazed by "abdulrasheed Soufi's" voice, try Al Jinn with his voice. Other than that, book marking certain versus is excellent as well as the search capability in addition to being able to change the translation between a bunch of trusted sources. As am improvement it would be great if you ate able to allow the app to continue running while the phone is locked (to save battery) or when you get to the main screen, very much the same funcion available for iPod. Thanks so much for a great app.

Please advice us on soni version of this appilication. I am soni, and don't know where to look for difference. I was looking for a small Quran Kareem to carry with me, but didn't know about this iPhone App. until a friend told me. I think this is the best, I think all brothers and sisters donate to help this person to come up with some more good options. I love this and I am very excited. Thank you again.

Amazing alternative to iQuran

Thank you very much for this great application, and a wonderful alternative to iQuran. Since I did not want to pay for iQuran, this was an amazing alternative. It allows me to view my translation in multiple languages, and to choose from over 10 different reciters, including those only in iQuran Pro; which I think is amazing work.
I do think the eye candy could be better, but in due time as this is not the most important thing. I would love though to be able to download the whole recitations in one go instead of one by one.
Again though great app, and wonderful work.
