A long time ago, I thought this app was just ok but since then, it's improved a lot! There are so many new things for it now than when it first came out. The new icon looks better too and is less boring. Thank you for this great app, I always use it. By the way I got this app back when it was free ;).Updated Review: It has been working fine with me. No problems encountered yet! It still loads real quick even with the illustrations set on(but can be turned off in settings).

Really a great, great product. The design is simple, straight-forward & aesthetically comfortable. It's intuitive, fairly snappy & so far bugless. I just have a few suggestions for it to reach perfection: 1. Letter-by-letter suggestion like in WeDict & words that sound alike like in Dictionaire. 2. Why are the definitions in brackets? 3. Some words are still missing pronunciation. 4. Possible introduction of audio for pronunciation. 5. Snappier response when pressing search button & when selecting word from suggestion list. Beautiful application, I suggest everybody download this.

Probably the most exquisite app I have on my iPhone. Being a big crosswod fan, I've found this better than most hard dictionaries, beautifully represented and splendidly accurate, this dictionary is a must-have for any practising wordsmith or word puzzle enthusiast. The definition game can be tremendous fun while at the same time be brilliantly insightful, at the same time, the rhyme dictionary feature is quite useful, should one find themselves having to conjur up an ode of any sort. Fantastic app and a must have in my view.

I got this app for the speaking. Like Panda-6 said, I couldn't get the volume to work. Tried it on headphones so knew it worked. I tried her fix of press and hold volume up then press speak button. Didn't work. BUT I did get it to work once I pressed and held volume down + speak button, then reversed the process and pressed volume up + speak button. Voice is clear and accurate.
Phew, get all that? :-) But it does work, and is an awesome feature. I also liked the game Word Wiz as it got me trying to figure out the meaning behind words.

I'd been looking for a good dictionary for a while now, so finally decided on this one. How glad I was I chose this one. It's fantastic, and well worth the money. It does everything. And it even has a game included, great fun. Was a bit dissapointed with the vocal part as I couldn't hear it, and another reviewer said you couldn't increase the volume. But after playing about for a while I have worked out YOU CAN. Hold the plus part of volume control in on side of iPhone, then press the vocal bit on app. Then keep pressing up button to desired volume. It works fine. Can now hear it ok. So definate 5 stars, it's great. Thankyou Makers.

Just grab it while it's still free. This is a very good tool indeed!!!! Works as advertised, hasn't frozen on me or anything, and it's well designed. It's also snappy. AND.... (drum roll)...... For those who really can't do with a dictionary based on American spellings (it appears, it's quite a lot of you out there!), you'd be pleased to know this is a British English dictionary - just did a quick check with the word 'exercise', and it's spelled right! By now, I know almost all available dictionary products on the App Store by heart! (been looking for a while, though everything seems either too expensive, or not good enough... or both!). This one is almost too good to be true. It's free (for now at least), and performs much better than WeDict (the other free WordNet-based alternative) Note to developer: just curious to know what word database this app is founded on(?). In any case, my congratulations on a job well done!

electronic dictionary on the go

it does not require any internet connection so it can be helpful anywhere you go. just think about it a dictionary book coast anywhere from five to twenty dollars if you just want a general dictionary.....this virtual electronic dictionary is faster, easier, more efficient, and cheaper than getting an actual book. so all in all its a bargain when you think about it. my only complains/ concerns would be the icon....it doesnt look too attractive on the home screen. i liked the first icon they had better. also, the interface is just a little plain. this a VERY minor preference issue i had with the app. its nothing to major to the point where nobody should buy this app. its just an opinion of mine to say that maybe the colors could be modified in place of having just the dull, white backround. black with white letter would be cool!

This is an excellent app. Does everything you would expect of a dictionary and then some more. Having used it briefly on a friend's phone, I bought it despite reading some negative reviews complaining about speed, size and what not. Frankly I can't understand what they are talking about. Perhaps the creators of competing dictionaries? If you need a reasonably priced dictionary - this is the one to go for.

I did not regret getting this app and nothing is rong with it.I know you will like it too,and it will be worth the money.so you should get this app too because you don't even need wi fi for the definition so that is what makes this app even better....you should get it.

I got this app in order to read a book with a lot of difficult words. There has been 1 word out of about 30 at least, that it hasn't been able to identify. Great UI, but I suggest making the "more" tab at the bottom customizable like Apple did the iPod app. Really worth it!

I do not this app has improved so much. I have not use it since first version. Now, I just saw update and give a try. wow it has everything. Great value for such price.

I gave this app 5 stars because I constantly use it. Simple, easy to switch between dictionary and thesaurus. I don't use the extra features like speech, rhyming, or translation. But I would like to see antonyms added for the next update. The large app-size is a bummer, but that's a small 'space' to pay for a dictionary that includes every word I've looked up so far.

Its the best dictionary Ive used. And its only 5 bucks. The developer is constantly updating so if you want something done and you tell them it chances it will be done.

This dictionary is definetely the best one availinle in the app store! (I got it for free on black friday, and probobly would not have Payed the $5 but I'm telling you now, GET IT!!!!!!!)
