Needs more accurate info By: I'm The Geico Caveman - May 24, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app has explained to me why the macbook is faster than the iBook... Motherboard bus speed was increased by 500 MHz, and CPU was almost doubled in speed!
I also think that the iBook G4 can only run 10.4.11, not 10.5 (as he stated in the listing)
Other than that, I love it! I found out about my first mac, and that the 20th anniversary mac cost close to $5000, and did less than the powermac 6500/250!
This is Great! By: jdog2000 - Apr 23, 2009 Version: 1.0 Love this app!!! Very handy when I'm called on to fix someone mac, I know all the details of the mac b4 I arrive.
Would love to have the ability to make notes on models. That way I could select a "note" title in a list and jump right to the mac. Like "joes mac" jumps you to the MacBook pro page. Adding pictures to the notes would be great too.
This app is worth paying for as is. I'm shocked it was free!
Great job!
If you love Macs, this is a must have! By: davidson_23 - Jul 12, 2009 Version: 1.0 This is a wonderful reference/historical tool for those who love Macs. Regardless of your technical expertise it's great to have. I agree with many of the reviewers though, it would be nice if the actual images of the products were shown rather than an icon. Additionally, I would love it if I could tag the items in the listings that I actually own or have owned. It'd be nice to use this app as a way to keep up with all my Apple products especially since Apple keeps pushing out newer versions. I do also like that the startup sound is also in the program. So, if actual images and the ability to tag what you own was there it'd be more than 5 stars. Despite it being a great free app, without the minor enhancements, it's a very solid 4 stars!

Good start, but needs work By: Danny Stewart - Apr 27, 2009 Version: 1.0 Great to have Mactracker as an iPhone application (I've had the web app bookmarked since I got my iPhone), but the app lacks some polish. It's a bit sluggish overall, and it's somewhat clunky to pull up a box to read extended text (I'd prefer if the table row just expanded so all information was readable at a glance). It's also missing icons, which is annoying. Sounds would be a nice touch too, if they could be worked in somehow. All in all, I'm glad it's here, and it's decent for a 1.0 release, but hopefully an update or two will really differentiate it from the web app, because right now it's almost indistinguishable from the web version.
Great Job..Still a little room to improve By: TomDFrog - Apr 22, 2009 Version: 1.0 I agree with my peers. Great job porting this over and will be very handy to have. I would like to see icons of the machines. I would also like to see the chime at the top and not way down at the bottom. Lastly, the History panel on the desktop version is very handy to me. It spells out some of the enhancements of the upper level options better. Case in point... The Clamshell iBook in Key Lime was offered in 366mhz and 466mhz. The General Pane does not tell you that it was offered in Key Lime at all. Great 1.0 Look forward to the 2.0
Thank you for this app! By: Divine Creativity - Aug 7, 2009 Version: 1.0 I really love MacTracker. The desktop app and web app are awesome and now to have all this info locally on my iPhone is great.
However there can be some improvments. Like most people are saying the database needs updated. Missing the iPhone 3GS for example. But I'm sure they will get around to it. Next is better support for copy & paste. Fields that have a long entry let you tap them to get a little pop up of the text which let's you copy the text. But the shorter entries do not so therefore not copyable.
Finally get over the no real icons of Mac hardware. Apple would never approve it and it's very hard to identify a specific model by picture let alone by a tiny icon.
Thanks again for this priceless tool.

Only one thing that could make even better... By: mausdesign - Aug 6, 2009 Version: 1.0 I refer to this all the time and been using the desktop version for years. However, one thing that could make this App even better is if it could be kept up-to-date with the desktop version (ie: info on the newest MacBook Pros are not current with the other build).
So handy to have it now on iPhone. By: EthanBrandon - Jul 4, 2009 Version: 1.0 I've used Mactracker for years and found it so useful for checking specs without having to search all over Apple's web site. Now I don't even have to fire up my Mac to use it.
Also it's well implemented for the iPhone: even the startup chimes are there.
Good app By: Bsasam - Aug 1, 2009 Version: 1.0 Mactracker is a good app It would be nice if they showed a picture of the device or computerBut overall a good reference app for a geek
Love It By: MacTard - Jul 31, 2009 Version: 1.0 It's Awesome, Better If It Had Pics Of Each Model. It's Must Have For Geeks
Consultant By: JoeACN - Jul 25, 2009 Version: 1.0 Just essential for anyone who works on Macs. Not just for Mac afficianados.
cool App By: *Mac Lover* - Jun 17, 2009 Version: 1.0 Very cool, very, very cool app! For those of us always need reference on which rams for which models. Good job.
Awesome product; good reference By: MadiganLabRat - Jul 13, 2009 Version: 1.0 Love this app...but I'd like to see pics of the various computers rather than the generic Mac Classic icon. Otherwise, A+!
Almost Perfect By: rigorozco - Jun 16, 2009 Version: 1.0 This app is interesting and tells you about the history of apple computers but it really needs pictures to go with the computers.
Love the site and app By: TinMan303 - Jun 16, 2009 Version: 1.0 I've been using mac tracker for a while at work. It is the most put together history of apple I've seen. Would love to see code names in the app for a little more dorky fun!

Good app By: Weelauren18989 - 07-Nov-2009 Version: 1.0.2 Good little app. If people read it would say that they can't put photos up because of copyright. Stop moaning it's free!!!
Nice to have in your pocket! By: JoshmClark - May 29, 2009 Version: 1.0 Great too have this info in your pocket in such a fast and easy way! Strongly recomend!
