Description:
This package includes the following Bibles and commentaries. NASB - New American Standard Bible NRSV - New Revised Standard Version NLTse - New Living Translation (NLT) Second Edition KJV - King James Version BKC - Bible Knowledge Commentary MHC - Mathew Henry's Concise Commantary JFB - Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary In the simplest of forwards, the goal of the NASB translation is stated as follows: “to adhere as closely as possible to the original languages of the Holy Scriptures, and to make the translation in a fluent and readable style according to current English usage.” The New American Standard Bible, or NASB, is based on the American Standard Version of 1901, still highly regarded for its accuracy. This modern revision has been widely used and appreciated by many since it its publication in 1971. Olive Tree's electronic version of the NASB is the updated edition of 1995. From the Lockman Foundation The Bible Knowledge Commentary on Old and New Testaments - popular in style and scholarly in content - will deepen your understanding of God's written Word. Discussing the Bible verse by verse and often phrase by phrase, this commentary will help any student of the Bible answer the following questions about the Scriptures: * What does that verse mean? * How should I interpret this passage? * What is the significance of this word or phrase in Greek or Hebrew? * How do Bible-time customs help me understand the meaning of this passage? * How can this alleged contradiction be explained? * How does the information on the author, historical background, and features of a Bible book help interpret that book? The Bible Knowledge Commentary will be welcomed by a wide spectrum of Bible students, from the beginner, who will find it easy to understand and easy to use, to the advanced, who will find it consistently thorough and reliable. The readable style, combined with careful scholarship, make this a Bible study aid its users will add to their "most-used" shelf of books. BibleReader offers powerful features for Bible reading and study, advanced personal customization, 100+ titles for free download, and a huge catalog available for in-app purchase, including Bible translations, Greek and Hebrew resources, commentaries, dictionaries, foreign language titles, and Christian eBooks. BIBLEREADER FEATURES • Bookmark your favorite verses. Make personal notes. Create files to sort and store them. A great organizational tool for study, personal devotions, or sermon preparation! • Split screen reading lets you view two books at once. Awesome By: bjmsl - Jul 30, 2009 Version: 4.08 Wow, I can do everything with this app that I do with my physical bible. Looking up verses, taking a ton of notes... and much faster. Not only is the the only bible I take to church, but when I had a question on how to work one of the features, I took a shot at e-mailing my question to the creator (no pun intended), and withing 48 hours, I had an answer!! With all the apps out there, sometimes the only thing that separates the excellent from the outstanding is service...Olive Tree stands out!
Great, but would like to see a couple options By: MacAstronomer - Mar 15, 2009 Version: 4.06 These are great Bibles, (this one in particular is my favorite ( and Harps Study Bible, that would be a nice addition). What would make this application even better, is a way to consolidate all the BibleReader Bibles ( I also have NKJV on my device and I'd like them all in one application and I haven't found an easy way to do that yet). I'd also like to see automatic scrolling to make continuous reading a little easier. Wouldn't it be great if it could integrate with Max McLean's NASB reading (scroll along while the audio plays). That would be six or more stars! Still a great app.
Incredibly Useful By: Swaynesworld - Sep 2, 2009 Version: 4.08 You can do anything with this. It's the closest thing to Logos Bible Software im the palm of your hand. The split screen did it for me. It let's you pick which resource is on bootom. Love it!

Great app, only lacks 1 feature By: Jbharrison - Nov 1, 2009 Version: 4.09 - Needs link-to-verse from within notes. I take sermon notes during church. The sermons have a subject and then references several verses to establish the key points. Adding notes to verses is great for personal study, but not for taking notes during sermons.Great application!
Needs to be able to E-Mail By: Squirtlemon - Jul 13, 2009 Version: 4.07 This is an awesome app nicely done. One thing though, needs to be able to email verses along with the notes/bookmarks button quick fix and easy update.

Great App, Few More Tweeks and it will Be #1 5 Star By: mdschmid777 - Feb 15, 2009 Version: 4.05 Like the App, very happy that is has NLT, yet I would like to see a highlighting function and maybe a split reading plane between versions in a future update, plus a greek and hebrew pack to download. But over all a great app. A Little Pricey.
Finally! By: MACMN - Jan 11, 2009 Version: 4.04 Very Straight forward app. I'm impressed. Finally the NLT without WiFi!
No Copy/Paste??? By: triviageekjg - Sep 10, 2009 Version: 4.08 So far, a great resource, but where's the copy/paste? Be nice to be able to send a verse out to someone or share a commentary thought. It looks like the app is not configured for copy/paste. Also be nice to have the Jameson, Fawcett and Brown commentary available for download.
Good app but over priced for quantity By: DocVitality - Jan 17, 2009 Version: 4.04 Good app but I think it definitely needs a nasb study and niv copy for $50. Should also have a highlight and notes section that is one click away from bible text. Would be 5 stars with some easy modifications.
Hugely disappointing... By: Jmc1982 - 19-Jun-2009 Version: 4.06 I wanted to get an NRSV on my iPhone so I could read the translators notes and the apocrypha. Without those features it's no better than any other major translation. Same for the NASB - needs footnotes! I'd highly recommend Biblexpress for anyone else with this issue. If it's not an issue, then there are free apps that allow you to read the NASB, so you're basically paying for the interface, which works well, but it's hardly exciting...
