Description:
ChemiCal is a simple chemistry application that takes a given chemical formula and returns the mass of one mole of that chemical. ChemiCal's Formula Mass Calculator is case sensitive so Co is cobalt and CO is carbon monoxide. Subscripts are entered as regular large numbers so water is entered as H2O. Parenthesis are understood so (NH4)2CO3 is calculated correctly as having 2 Nitrogen, 8 Hydrogen, 1 Carbon, and 3 Oxygen. Non-stoichiometric formulas such as Fe0.86O are also supported. ChemiCal now includes a molarity calculator and a stock dilution calculator. ChemiCal also includes a detailed element database and a color-coded periodic table view. Common element information includes: - Category - Average Atomic Mass - Monoisotpic Mass - Density - Melting Point - Boiling Point - Heat of Fusion - Heat of Vaporization - Specific Heat Capacity - Electron Configuration - Electronegativity - Abundance of Isotopes - Mass of Isotopes - Half-life of Isotopes - Magnetic Property - Electrical Resistance - Young's Modulus - Shear Modulus - Bulk Modulus - Vickers Hardness - Brinell Hardness - Mohs Hardness - Poisson Ratio ChemiCal is being constantly updated to add new user-requested features, so if you have a request, let us know through reviews or email. ChemiCal has been tested thoroughly, but if a bug is found please let us know about it and the issue will be addressed quickly. We are currently working on a highly requested update that will balance chemical equations. However, we do not have an estimate on when this feature will be released. We are also working to add over 20 language settings to ChemiCal including: - German - Spanish - Italian - French - Russian - Arabic - Farsi - Greek - Hebrew

Awesome!!!!! By: SCIENCE!!! Rocks My Sox!!! - Mar 8, 2009 Version: 2.0.4 This app is great! I'm really young( I don't wanna put my real age) but this has really helped me to memorize most of the periodic table of elements! I probably won't be asked to memorize this for several years but this application made it fun and east and gave me a head start on it. I give this a five but I do have one suggestion: Often, I can simply put in any random combination of elements that I may have made up, into the calculation bar, but there are still results. Could there be an update where formulas that don't really exist state so? Because even when I put in some of the noble gasses with other elements, I get information about formulas that don't even exist. But because I like this app so much, still five stars!!! :-)
A must have app for chemists. By: aliarshad1988 - 28-Jan-2009 Version: 2.0.6 The updated version is just amazing. Provided are the physical and chemical properties along with the number of available isotope(s). Not to mention the molar mass calculator is extremely helpful, no longer do i calculate (g/mol) like a barbarian on a calculator. I only have a minor request, please ... pretty please add an interactive periodic table. Oh yeah buy this app, it only a dollar (The best you'll ever spend).
JUST what I need!!! By: ChemKneazle - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 2.0 Oh man, this is JUST what I needed for when I'm at my lab bench and need to figure out a cmpd's molec. wt. for my notebook. For some reason, my lab is the only one without a giant periodic table. Plus, I'm too lazy to do the calculations myself, haha! Thanks for this app! Nice price, too. I had the free version which pretty much met my needs, but I have no problem donating a dollar to you guys for this awesome app!
Good practical app By: bullydog99 - Apr 26, 2009 Version: 2.0.6 Good app and worth 1 dollar. Not nesicerrily the most complex periodic table but still good for any quick use. If they were to add a more detailed periodic table along with zoom function allowing the elements to be easier to click that would bring my rating up to 5 stars. Also possibly a "favorites" kind of thing where you can select elements and or compounds that you can add to this list where you can have quick and instant acess to them. Just a few sugestions. Great aplication none the less and I use it very often. Worth the money
Full featured, could use some work By: ursadog - Feb 28, 2009 Version: 2.0.2 This is a pretty full featured periodic table app with lots of basic information and mass calculator. I am giving it 4 stars. Now I am going to point out needed tweaks and useful additions. -always opens in mass calculator view. It should open to the last used view. -the periodic table view can't be zoomed, the buttons are necessarily tiny (lots of elements!) and hard to hit. Name or symbol sorting is the way to go. -the mass calculator uses an impossibly small font. I know we are talking atoms here but does the font also have to be microscopic? The mass calculator could be smarter in regards to case, like the NIST Webbook forumula entry. -the data page appears to be static image that can be moved around with the touch interface but there is no vertical scrollbar. The image can also be moved horizontally but there is no point as the image has been formatted to fit on the iPhone screen width. -I would really like to have ionization energies and electron affinities (in eV please)! Then I would be a happy camper. Reviewing version 2.0.2
Modern periodic table!! By: Star rater* - 18-Apr-2009 Version: 2.0.5 I love this app but it would be better if they added a modern peridoc table the ones given in school with different colours to show which ones are metals, nonmetals, and metalloids. Also showing the group and period number for each element would be greatly appreciated! Once this gets a new update that contains these things I will gladly give it the 5 stars it deserves! I reccomend you get this app I'm a highschool student and I find this app EXTREMLY usefull so I recommend you get it!
Well Tested By: #1Nerd - Feb 8, 2009 Version: 2.0.1 I have been using this app for months, and it has always worked very well. If someone thinks it does not work properly, they should really post the formula that resulted in an incorrect mass. Scientific experimentation, after all, must be repeatable to be accepted. This app's last update was great, and it was already a great value for a buck before that. I hope the developers keep it up. This is one of only a few really well supported and useful science apps currently available, and it has an attractive icon to boot.
Woo By: rambo24 - 16-Sep-2009 Version: 2.2 Great app,
I was just wondering if you could ever make a zoom feature on the periodic section and also to b able to put sections from the "more" section into the tab at the bottom, like swapping them round x
Just sugestions though x
Suggestions By: ShadyLP - Oct 2, 2009 Version: 2.2 Very useful. Could use common charges of atoms, especially for transition metals, and it could use a list of common polyatomic ions.
Something I would like to see By: Caxviper - Sep 29, 2009 Version: 2.2 It is a great app I would just like to see the charges of the atoms go on.it is one of the hardest things for me to remember. But other wise it is great
Cool app By: Heavymetaldon - Aug 13, 2009 Version: 2.2 I would say that this app is pretty sweet
Solid App! By: Jaredjc51 - Aug 8, 2009 Version: 2.2 Works Exactly as promised.
Review By: ThaKidd17 - Jun 11, 2009 Version: 2.2 Great application
Most useful chem app for the $ By: bezshai - Jun 4, 2009 Version: 2.2 This app has so much information and the various calculators are very useful.
Great! By: Snyder - May 12, 2009 Version: 2.0.6 Perfect for studing. If there was an option for organization of the words that wouldBe great. Such as by the atomic mass or number, not alhabetical. Just an idea
Best app ever By: reviewer567 - Apr 6, 2009 Version: 2.0.4 I have bought many apps to help me out in school and this is the most helpful app I have bought .99 is a steal for this app I would pay 3.99 for it it is well worth the money. I am a tenth grader and this app is great to use in science classes I use it all the time and it's a great app to have.
Yes! By: Behop - Apr 3, 2009 Version: 2.0.4 Best app for chem class used it throughout the year
Wow By: musicluver9 - Mar 17, 2009 Version: 2.0.3 I expected this to be horrible I mean it by a company called twss(that's what she said) but it blow me away! It's cheap and works. Helped me study for my final! I got. 103!!! Best app ever!
Suggestions By: JJ in Spencer - Mar 16, 2009 Version: 2.0.3 Great for doing homework simply without looking everything up individually. Only suggestions would be to add Oxidation states and the name of the compound created. Thanks!
Good for chem class!!! By: Imalotbetter - Mar 14, 2009 Version: 2.0.3 This app helps soooo much on chemistry homework!!! I'll never have to guess again!! Thank u soooo much!!!
