I paid for this App too and I still tell my friends about it. Come on now we all know this is pretty much the best App out there when it comes to cocktails. When the people at Pocket Cocktails Inc. created this they got everything right in my opinion. As an App developer myself I know they put much time and thought into it and now they should reap some rewards. The ad is only there for 3-4 seconds tops and so what if they mention a certain brand name vodka in the ingredients section. In general people will always use their favorite brand anyway. If you like to drink and have fun this a great App regardless of a little ad.

A Lovely Guide with Pictures to Entice

At first I had my doubts about another drink recipe app, and also the retro-theme, but I VERY quickly grew to love this. The pictures are wonderful, and the other reviewers are right - even though there is less here than one of the drink databases, this app will definitely be used more. Great focus on presentation, and it proves to be much better than a collection of recipes.
Bottom line: My list of "Cocktails to Try" just grew incredibly. Actually, it just got created - but it's long.

This has a large enough number of drinks. I was hesitant at first after reading comments of it lacking in this area. Rest assured that there are plenty of drinks and while it may miss some, no program can capture everything. (Rusty Nails are not cocktails but old grandpa scotch drinks. It is understandable to not have those. I know because they are my favorite.) Visually, the program is amazing. The pictures are crisp and colorful. Giving this thing to a girl is basically like giving your iPod away as they will occupy it for a long while. Overall, it offers a wide variety of drinks in a visually pleasing, easy to use format that is very much worth the money.

Possibly the best app on itunes!

I'm not a big drinker but I wanted to purchase this for an upcoming party in December. The photos of the drinks are clear, the directions easy to follow, (even an ingredients list so you know what to shop for ahead of time) and the app itself is a joy to use. Shaking the app for a random drink is a fun surprise. There are so many yummy sounding drinks it is going to be hard to choose which ones to make :) I know I'll be trying some of those warmers though since we'll be at a chilly location. At last I can try something other than my standard Pina Colada or Mudslides.Thanks developers, well done on this one!

For 99 Cents, It's a Steal!

You're not going to need many more apps other than this. A well organized layout of classes of drinks, widest selection by far and a quick and stable interface is what Pocket Cocktails excels and the pictures of the mixes aren't too shabby either. Overall a great package for as much as 5 bucks but at 99 US cents, it's really great value for money. An improvement in the position Picture/Recipe/Ingredients bar which is present at every drink selection would make it perfect tho.

I've had this app for about 6 months and it's been my favorite until I downloaded version 2.4. I loved the old retro splash screen as the app started up. Now, there's a Grey Goose ad instead. Also, every recipe that requires vodka calls for "GREY GOOSE®" vodka - it's distracting and annoying. I paid for this app and didn't expect to be bombarded with advertisements. However, I'm still giving it 4 stars because I've loved previous releases so much and because they've fixed some of the jankiness around switching between the recipe, ingredients and photos of the drinks.

Also not happy about ads in an app I pay for..A couple suggestions:How about adding a page where I can check off alcohol that I have on hand, and then have the option of only seeing drinks I can actually make. That would be cool! (Btw, create the list by including all the alcohol types from all the drinks in the database) Also, the reverse, where I can have a list made of all types of alcohol for drinks that I put a check mark next to (maybe favorites?), and an option that optionally removes the alcohol that I already have, and there's my shopping list the next time I'm at the liquor store! Extra cool!!Keep the free updates coming! (and if we now have to put up with ads, at least I hope to see more & better free updates!)

Love the photos, and there are a ton of drinks. Very cool. Suggestions:
Sort drinks by ingredient- not just a search. It would be great to have, for example, all vodka drinks in one section, all tequila in one section, etc.
I love the shaker, but again it would great to be able to just shake vodka drinks, or whatever. That would be ideal because most people are drinkers of a certain alcohol.

Great app - sound recipes (and plenty, a hundred or two I'd estimate) and pictures for each. You can randomize by categories (ex. cocktail, shooter, tropical, etc) that you feel like, and you can search for drinks by an ingredient or liquor that you have on hand. Don't be fooled by similar apps promising you thousands of drink recipes, you won't ever get to try all of those in your lifetime and you'll get plenty of weird ones (like I found out the next morning!). This app is da bomb and you'll actually know how to present it (which is as important as the drink itself). Wish item for the future - ability to save my own version/recipe of a drink!

One of the most impressive apps I own. Sleek but fun design with smooth navigation. All of the pictures are high quality and delicious looking. This app may very well turn you into an alcohalic. Needs a few updates but nothing major. A rating and favorite system. Along with a search that responds to the alcohal typed in, rather than the drink name only. Overall this app is actually well worth it's price. It is something you'll enjoy using frequently, as well as a respectable reference a to fine art in the entertainment and cullinary world.

I bought this app mainly for the shooters, I already own a few other Drink mixing apps.
Right away I noticed Liquid Cocaine was absent, in its place a layered shot called black gold, the difference being that Black gold is layered and Liquid cocaine is mixed.
Jager bomb is listed as a "Red bull blaster"
on the Jagermeifter/Jagermeister website it is listed as a Jager bomb.
This app is off to a great start and I love the Easy to use interface, I think with some work this will be the best cocktail app on iTunes,
I would just like to be able to edit the names and ingredients of the drinks, maybe in a secondary menu and be able to write in new drinks from scratch

Best app of the genre. The Grey Goose ads are fine if it makes it free. They are unobtrusive and no big deal. I love the new holiday theme drinks they are a lot of fun. Only thing that would make it any better would be to have a liquour cabinet built in to make drinks from what you have available.
